I don't understand the review bomb slander here, if it's a competitor or what, but I've used them 3x now and each time they've protected my items and did a quick and fair job for the price. They've protected my stuff, helped me pack items and gotten them both up and down multiple flights of tight stairs, and turns. They've been nothing short of amazing for the Twin Ports and again I don't see the issues others seem to be making up. Don't pay any attention to that stuff. Asked Brandon Johnson to receive three items, assemble and deliver. He assured me they could handle this. When he called asking for payment I asked if the items were assembled and in good shape. He replied "yes". Delivered to client next day and items were still in boxes, not assembled and boxes were damaged. Brandon will not call to discuss and will not issue a refund of any amount. Disappointing. Have worked with many other movers over the US and this was by far the worst experience. Unprofessional. read more

I would not recommend affordable movers! When I called to see if my 8:30 start time was still going to work he told me he couldn't be there till 2. Then 2 turned into well maybe you should just go through another company. So here I am the next day, the day I'm supposed to move with no moving company. read more

Affordable Movers is a horrible business to work with. Here are the complaints I have a) The movers showed up with no tools. I had to spend one one day off to unpack our new house (we had already moved our boxes) running around getting the tools they needed b) The movers destroyed my daughter's bed, which was less than 3 months old. c) When I brought it up to the owner of the company, he gave me the run around for over a week. d) When I finally threatened to ruin his reputation online and take him to small claims court, he suddenly tells me his insurance doesn't cover particle board (bed was from IKEA). e) They lost hardware for my son's bunk beds. f) They went over their original estimate, largely due to their lack of planning ahead for the tools. We are currently without a bedframe for our daughter's bed. I would NEVER recommended them. read more

DO NOT! Hire this company.. my 70 year old disabled mother hired them to move her belongings from a storage unit into her new house. They piled everything in in two rooms had the couch standing up against a wall put her mattress behind all the boxes and then left like two more loads of stuff in her storage unit. She paid them 600 dollars! For them to do half a$$ service knowing she was disabled and can't move anything heavy. Plus smoking outside on a no smoking property. Do not use this guy, Brandon, unless you want to be overcharged, have essential furniture left behind, have your stuff go missing, and have your upholstery ripped. At best, they showed up late, short a guy, and have no moving equipment, and a small dirty trailer. So they can take two trips, and stop along the way, and overcharge you. And the Attorney General's letters get returned with no forwarding address for this company. Beware! read more

If I could award Brandon zero stars, I would. We had an appointment for 9:00 a.m. but he called and said he couldn't be there until after noon. He sounded either half-asleep or otherwise impaired like he wasn't awake enough to make the appointment which left me at the storage facility with a 6x12 UHaul and no one to unload it. Very unprofessional. Try United Movers in Duluth or A-1 in Superior, WI just across the bridge. They were super helpful. read more

I need to tell you, I am really disappointed, you weren't here for 3 hours you got here at 11;25 11:30 and gone by 12 : 46 I checked the cameras at the neighbors and the camera at the new place I installed outside yesterday, I even saw my husband helping. That wasn't part of the deal. And he gave you a tip. Well, I thought from the first phone call you really didn't seem like you wanted the job and all you had to do was say so. As a move, the small things should have been your responsibility, but your were more interested in collecting your money than truly helping us. I talked to 3 other movers today who said that for honors sake they would not have left us in the condition you did. I don't know what I am going to do, but I figure you were paid 250$ which John's job pays for because they wanted to help For about 150$ (if that)worth of work. By the way as a mover you don't get to pick and choose what you want to move. I did say I would try and get the stuff moved but it didn't work out. You still had time to move it, you chose to take our money and leave us in a terrible position. So, do you have any ideas? If this doesn't get taken care of, it will not end well for affordable movers. I am a law student, did you know that? Wether it's civil court, fraud, or consumer theft. I will settle this, I have cameras that document everything I am saying. I had a very poor experience with "Affordable Movers". I set up an appointment 6 weeks in advance and ended up having to wait an additional day to get all of my things moved. Why? Because they booked multiple moves that day and "had other jobs to go to". On top of that we were kind enough to fix the 2 movers (Chuck & a helper) hot coffee for their breaks. In gratitude for that they left and took our 2 coffee thermoses and never returned them. Multiple calls to both Chuck and Brandon the owner were met with total disregard for our belongings. We never got them back and had to purchase new ones. I wouldn't go near a company that thought so little of its customers. By the way I had also paid 140$ in tips over the 2 days. Very unprofessional. First on the day they were suppose to show up to give an estimate. They didn't show, then when we called, they had an excuse. Then on the day of the move, they went over by two hours, asked us to help them, left several things behind. They also broke my daughter's bed. When we tried to call and talk to them about the bed, they ask if it could be fixed. Stuff from Ikea can't be fixed. We ask they come out to discuss this further. The said they would call back to schedule a time. In true form, nothing from them. Do not use them, otherwise you'll drop your jocks and grab your socks because they will screw you. read more
