Direct auto and life Insurance is the worst company I have ever had to communicate with. Being a…read morecustomer of 7 years this current year they dated my policy wrong during my renewal dating it Aug of 2019 which showed Florida I had no active insurance, my license got suspended to due to their team members "simple" mistake as the director called it. I personally had to pay 500$ to have my license reinstated all while for two months they still pulled out my monthly payments and never reimbursed me "even though I had no active insurance"! I let it go and gave them a second chance... My mistake... This May I called to simply switch my current vehicle to a new vehicle with a lien holder, I wanted the same exact policy as I had full coverage which Is mandatory with a lien holder.... The team member gave me PIP. So for a whole month I was driving around with no coverage to my actual vehicle. My Lien holder caught on and notified me, which should have been some one from Direct auto! I called to fix their team members mistake got the run around and no one wanted to fix it they wanted me to pay 223$ additional to the 186$ I paid a week ago for my monthly payment on top of the 156$ they charged me to switch policies. So to fix a mistake that happened on their end they want me to pay 565$ within 3 weeks! Absolutely Absurd. The director once again told me it was a "simple" mistake that cost me 379$. I called Geico got a quote within minutes. Now Direct Auto is refusing to refund me or even pro rate the 342$ I paid out of my pocket for coverage I DONT EVEN HAVE. Please learn from my mistakes and stay far far away from Direct Auto and Life!
