I found this company to be untrustworthy, untimely, and ultimately not very kind. Our yard was A MESS when they left and we had to clean up the left over tree waste for several weekends afterwards. We were promised day after day that they would show and it took weeks for them to get here. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Also, a tell-tale sign that something is wrong is that they require a downpayment, which most tree care companies do not require. It seems that the MO of Affordable Tree Care is that they take your downpayment and then you are held hostage to their whacky timetable for getting your work done. read more

So strange...we wanted to give this company our business, but I guess they didn't want it. We emailed them some pictures of a weird tree situation we have in our backyard and just never heard anything back (despite this being the suggested mode of communication). We waited awhile and tried again, and then began corresponding with the owner. We were actively emailing back and forth with him, but when we he found out that we hadn't purchased the Groupon they had going at the time, he just stopped responding to our emails. I bought a groupon for this company. I called them, they promised to call back and didn't. I called back they said they would schedule soon. I called in a month they scheduled me for a more than a month from the time of the call. They sent me a g-mail tickler for my calendar. Then they didn't show and didn't contact me. And their phone number was not working. They were scheduled for Friday; it's Sunday and even though I've emailed them and tried to call, no response from them. Worst company I have ever worked with, they make promises and never show up. Sold a whole bunch of Groupons in Carmel area and I for one purchased a 3 man hour for $99.00 and they NEVER showed up. Many excuses and delays and promised appointments. No calls to reschedule just never showed and I called again and again, still did not show up. Had a tree that did not even reach my 2nd story window, purchased their 6 man hour Groupon for a 65 foot tall tree Took lots of calling them to get an eta of when they would come was told 3 different dates. Showed up to my house without a chipper, charged $100 more when two of the men were gone for over an hour to get it for us. Here is their response: Their tree was larger than the coupon coverage, we arrived with a bucket truck, 25k lb. Trailer, Super duty 450 and the Chipper was 1.3 miles away. Two Men were on site staging material in the front yard. Customer requested to keep the wood, and it be cut up into firewood lengths their deck was blown off, as well as there screened in porch, yard raked free of leaves & saw dust. They purchased 6 Man Hours, 4 men were on site 3 hours= 4 additional man hours at full price would have been an additional $237.32 we gave them the Groupon discount making it $100.00 guess gratefulness is a commodity for those not trying to take advantage or exploit our willingness to serve with a smile. For a chipper being so close, traffic must have been terrible on that Saturday afternoon cause I only saw two men working in my yard for over an hour. There was no one working in my front yard. I'm not sure whose yard they raked, cause I still have plenty of leaves and they nearly destroyed my deck with having the tree fall on it. They did destroy a decorative candle holder, however I refrained from mentioning anything until reading their slimy response. read more

I would not recommend this tree company at all. They started a job for a down payment and did not come back and finish but took my money and ran. I took them to small claims court, which they did not show up for. I won the judgement, but as of yet have not received my money back from them. I am taking them back to court on Dec.6,2012. They owe me $385 hard earned dollars and I hope they don't do this to someone else. It cost me another $1500 hard earned dollars to fix what they didn't finish. If you are a victim of Hurricane Sandy, please don't let these people take advantage of you in any way, if they show up at your door. read more
