It came back stating that 5 Star Backflow was the BEST of the 40 approved companies! I then called Josh, the owner of 5 Star Backflow, and he and his team worked around the clock to help me because I was up against a deadline. His communication with us was spectacular and thanks to him our water did not get cut off. We even had a complication with the backflow valve being broken, but he got it taken care of and he went way above and beyond to help us. I called them to make sure the rates were accurate, and to get an idea of when they would do the test. The guy was super nice, and he said he'd do the test on Wednesday, and they said they'd leave a note on the door when it was completed. They did it a day early, and left the note on the door just like they said. This was exactly the ideal experience in my opinion, so I strongly recommend them!

She then said she would text the info over to the tech "right away." I knew the tech couldn't be sitting around waiting to drive to my house, so I asked if I should expect a call back tomorrow, today, or later in the week. I'm having this entire conversation with my work persona, very laid back and curious, no pressure, but she bristled HARD at this question. Huh? "Well! Huh! Um, I said right away. He'll get it right away." What? I'm curious how busy he is and when he can fix my sink...I am in no way questioning your ability to send him a text. I'm sure he's busy. "Right away" is the same as 30 minutes or more if he's on a job, so I am good. We hung up with no ETA for a call or an appointment. That was 3 full business days ago and no sign of them yet. My impression is that they will just throw out numbers to see what sticks and if you seem to live in a nicer home, they jack up the price. Again, good work and they're timely, but you're likely overpaying for their service. I would definitely price out any work you ask these guys to do. When I confronted Al about this, he basically told me, "good luck finding a new plumber." And this was after I've fed him business for over three years. Arrogant and expensive.

We had an…read moreemergent issue in our kitchen (two connected sinks that lead to a line that connects out of the house through a powder room); one of the sinks was blocked, and the other needed a new disposal installed. Moe called us back right away when we contacted him about the blocked sink on a weeknight, arrived promptly the following morning (after offering very kindly to come out that night if we needed him to!), and diagnosed our problems. He and his partner worked efficiently and cleanly to get the sink line cleared, and then came back two days later to replace the seized-up disposal unit. Knight Rooter's pricing was fair and transparent -- Moe explained the costs of parts and labor clearly, and answered our questions with direct information (as opposed to some other companies we've dealt with in the past).
