It's a small store with a wonderful selection of books perfect for every book worm. The prices are incredibly low and they are supportive of local artists. I was so pleased to see a father with two kids in shopping. It added to the warmth of the place and the neighborhood feel. Don couldn't have been nicer. He introduced himself to his customers and I had the luck of having time to have a nice conversation about the ever growing stack of books in my house. I am so glad I can walk to this store. A refreshing opposite, from the jerk owner Vintage Vinyl in Evanston has(won't get into him any further here, but if you want to know more about that place look up my review on them). And I wish all music store employees and owners, were as nice as this guy is! Definitely stop here, if you happen to go out to this part of Oak Park and are either looking for CDs, or even just like to have good conversations with others about music. Yesterday was my first time visiting the store was looking forward to check the place out and see…read moreif there was anything interesting to read for the week. It was calm and decent even though there were a lot boxes around the store that made things difficult to get through and there wasn't anyone available in the checkout section since I think the owner who was wearing a checkered black and white shirt with a black hat who looks like he's in mid or late 40s and other staff member were getting some vintage comics packed up to mall for the holidays which is understandable. There was a comic book I was interested in purchasing I think it was a vintage Spider-Man book from the 60s or 70s that had the lizard on the front and I was gonna purchase it until the owner came in with a stressed or angry attitude towards me saying that all the comic in the white boxes needed to be alphabetical order and he took it from my hand without even saying anything in a proper manner that they weren't for sale and that whatever was on the shelf were the ones on sale. Thankfully, I'm a person who's calm and didn't have a reaction like anyone would and it was a place that I won't visiting again for a while, maybe until the holiday session is over and the owner is calm then I'll give them another chance. Moral of the story is that comic book owners who are have a stressful day and a negative attitude, don't be afraid to take a day off and get some time for yourself.
