It's a small store with a wonderful selection of books perfect for every book worm. The prices are incredibly low and they are supportive of local artists. I was so pleased to see a father with two kids in shopping. It added to the warmth of the place and the neighborhood feel. Don couldn't have been nicer. He introduced himself to his customers and I had the luck of having time to have a nice conversation about the ever growing stack of books in my house. I am so glad I can walk to this store. It is exactly what this neighborhood needed. This store is what the Oak Park Arts District is all about.

I know email tone can be misinterpreted but as a representative she completely turned me off from visiting again in person or recommending to any of my friends and family. Good customer service is essential these days if you expect to keep customers! Not to mention the increased prices of Gepetto's toys compared to other businesses. Yes the quality is good, but it's not an excuse to be crappy towards your customers. There are other options in the area. I'd recommend they get a new person answering emails unless the business supports that type of behavior.

Their taste is impeccable. Or, just tell them what you are into and they will suggest something. Again, they've never failed me. Really solid choice of metal (my preferred genre) and other genres in the record sections. Honestly if someone is even slightly nerdy (compliment), they will probably walk out with some treasure. I go out of my way to come here around once or twice a month. One of my favorite stores in Chicago.
