First Serve Cleaning and Restoration

These two guys from first serve, Austin and Corbin, did in about 30 minutes what four of us…read morecouldn't achieve in 3 days and for half the price. (Just for the record they probably could've done it in less time had our carpet not previously been royally messed up). Not only that, but they came back two days later to guarantee they effectively scrubbed out all the residue left in our carpet. For context, my family came over to help my boyfriend and I clean our condo's carpet ourselves, since our cats had pretty much decimated sections of our carpet with cat urine and vomit over the years. Between deep cleaning with rental equipment and drying the carpet with three rented industrial fans, we invested about $300 and 3 days of labor ourselves. Wish I could say it was worth it, but after all was said and done, we were left with residue filled carpet that felt worse than we started (I've since been informed I over saturated our carpet in cleaning solution which left behind that gross sticky residue - don't believe the ratios on the damn bottle). It left my feet with a grimy black substance on it, and also, because who doesn't love a cherry on top, the smell of cat urine still persistently lingered like the ghost of Christmas past. Frustrated to say the least, we caved, called in the professionals, and after seeing their results I can confidently say I'll never deep clean a carpet myself again in this lifetime. Just call in the pros. The first day, they were in and out in less than 30 minutes total and that was after they sprayed some extra enzymatic solution to kill the incessant pet odor everywhere. They even came back when I'd called and said the carpet still felt sticky in some areas, and again were in and out in even less time than before. True champs. They were efficient, friendly, professional, non-judgmental (can't say I'd be the same if I walked in and saw some of our gnarly cat stains), communicated everything patiently, and they were just amazing in general. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Todd from First Serve committed to cleaning my flooded basement with a $2500. The water in my…read morebasement actually receded automatically. Their job was to just dry the wooden stumps and clean the basement. The quote itself was very high but I did proceed with it due to limited time and urgency. As a part of their job, they were supposed to return my basement in a cleaned state. However, they added this activity as an additional cost when it should have been part of the job. Als,they took an additional day and inflated my invoice by about 25% higher to $3050.when cleaning to the target drying level should have been their intention from the get go. Further, they threatened to lien my property and foreclose it for not paying this extra $500. They did not ask for verbal approvals for the authorization to proceed with the increase in costs. They are resorting to corporate holliganism. Giving inaccurate estimates and inflating invoices, adding additional labor and costs that should have been covered as part of their estimated and quoted work. Please stay away from First Serve. Integrity, accuracy and feedback from the customers are important but they wouldn't want to accept it.

I will not use this company again due to the pushiness and lack of follow through on promises…read more I requested a quote for roof damage on my mom's roof after a tree fell on it. Her house was listed for sale, so I needed everything to move quickly. They sent someone out in a very reasonable time, and he was very friendly and full of promises. The roof was going to be paid for mostly out of pocket due to the age of the previous roof, so I wanted an actual price quote. He would not give me the quote saying it was a red flag if a person wants to know the actual price since it is usually covered by insurance, however he knew the situation. It took multiple calls and texts to finally get the quote, and he pressured me to get a full roof replacement instead of half. I know it is his job to sell, but I felt totally pressured. There was at least one time we had an appointment to meet at the house and he cancelled after I was already there and it was close to our appointment time. By this time, an offer had been made and accepted on the house, so I was in a time crunch, so I did not want to start the process over with a new company since I had spent so much time with Rees. I was told I had to put down a certain amount to get on the schedule, but I wrote that check and was told I needed to put more down. I finally got on the schedule and the roof was replaced. The gutters were to be replaced as well, but that did not happen until multiple days after the roof, but that was never communicated with me. The chimney cap needed a refresh (repaint basically) and that was in the contract as well, but he kept pushing me to replace the chimney cap before it was even refreshed. I finally got enough of what they promised, but it took a lot of repeated inquiries on my part. When we were paying out of pocket for a complete new roof, I would think they would readily honor my time and their promises.

Everyone in this company should be required to wear hearing aids. They only hear their profit…read moremargins. They put my wife and I through hell for 14 months on a rebuild on the inside of my house. And in the end when they were working off a so called "punch list" we had to fire our contractor. We spoke to a "supervisor" who was rude and accusatory saying that we kept adding to that list. I wish that I had been quicker to react to the sub par work being done in my home. See pictures below. The whole process was a cat and mouse game that they are experts at. They don't honor anything that they say they will do and use cheap materials even if it says on your contract that they will supply quality materials. I would never recommend this company after they showed no interest in making my house what I wanted. Promises made and broken daily. We never were given any specific dollar amounts except the total. This way they can shift the details around to maximum profit. Bottom line is protect your investment.........go somewhere else for work on your home.
