Let's start with a negative before I rave about everything else. Service is not the best service in town, but lucky for them, they serve good food. Start off your meal with some Chips and Salsa or a some Nacho Grande and add that with some Dynamite Chillies to really start off your Mexican meal. They also have appetizer samplers if you'd like to try different kinds of their appetizers. Now, I only order one thing and one thing alone: Grilled Chicken Fajitas. Okay, I looooove fajitas and for some reason the way they grill their chicken reminds me of El Pollo Loco in the US. And since I loooove chicken, this definitely is my one and only repetitive favorite dish. They also have other fajitas, like if you feel like you'll get too sick of the chicken, add some shrimp or beef to it. But I promise you, you NEED to try the chicken. Usually after finishing a two person meal all to myself, I never get to reach dessert, but I definitely love the fact that they have Unlimited Mojito. Yes, UNLIMITED. Omg, came here for the first time, it's our last. Exploring BGC for a potential move. Place is old, needs a refresh, flies attacking you, bathroom was horrible, and food lacked the flavors if you know good Mexican food. Bland and dishes were room temp except for the fajitas which although was sizzling on presentation lacked any flavor. Service was poor and unfriendly to top things off. Personally, what I look for in a drinking place are just two things: Good booze and great food. and this place has them. What's really different about this place is their UNLIMITED MOJITO. As in Bottomless Mojito as long as you can still stand. And with every refill, you get to taste another flavour of their Mojito. My man Java recommends their Lychee Mojito. Borrowing the words from a local beer commercial, "mahaba-habang inuman". Or not, if you're low tol. They also have other drinks. What I got here was there Corona Beer as suggested by one of the waiters after bringing up the latest Fast & Furious Movie. The waiter (Java) was really accommodating and funny too. My friends were satisfied with their mojitos and I really enjoyed my beer. For the food, the just got their beef taquitos. They're like lumpia rolls but with cheese and beef inside. It's good. A bit would consist of the lumpia roll like taste but then followed by an explosion of the cheese and beefy goodness. This place is a bit pricey, especially for a student. But this place has delicious food and great booze, so it's one I'd recommend. read more

There's a massive elephant in the room, and it needs to be addressed. I've been eating at this chain for almost 6 years and they've now decided to blast music as in rock concert/nightclub loud and allow customers to get so drunk they scream and act like drunken fools!!! I'm going to ask the manager if this is their business plan. If it is, I'm never coming back and unless you like to eat your dinner in the middle of night club loud music and screaming, you should avoid it too. I posted a video of this mess, check it out and decide for yourself. Upon reading further comments from the owners, I've decided to edit my post yet again. Agave has built up good Will with my wife and I for many years. "To err is human, to forgive is divine." I hope the owners will focus on this location and work out the kinks, as there are many. Known for their bottomless (!!!) margaritas, Agave Mexican Cantina is always a great place to chill and enjoy a night with friends. Offering delicious mexican food that goes well with booze, it is no longer a surprise to find the place crowded on a Friday night. Food is decent and even better than most mexican food places in the area. Nachos and Wings are delicious, while the dynamite chillies were definitely the bomb. Interior is just okay, nothing too fancy. Only downfall is their slow service. But all in all, it was a nice experience. read more

If you want better food I recommend Chihuahua in Greenbelt. This is suppose to be a restaurant in a high tourist area. We went to Agave last night with no expectations and we left very happy. All the food was tasty and full of flavour. We sat inside where it was a little cooler. The only down side is that the music was quite loud and made it hard to have a conversation, Although they are going for the Cantina feel so I understand. We had 2 appetisers and 2 main meals as well as to sodas. The bill was ₽1880, I actually thought this was quite reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back for sure. read more

Again, yet another Mexican place that's definitely worth splurging on! Had a long day? Then maybe a cold, tall glass of flavored margarita might help you let your hair down a bit. But, beyond their wide selection of flavored margaritas, Agave also boasts of a rather overwhelming menu as well! I've read most of the existing reviews at the time of his writing, and I'm surprise to see a couple that mention bad service. I'm among the pickiest people I know when it comes to customer service, and the service I've received from the Agave staff has been outstanding. I don't have a single complaint. I will agree, however, with every comment praising the quality of the food. The selection is great and everything that I've tried so far has been delicious. So far I've only visited two of their branches: the Ft. McKinley branch (which was my first) and the 9th Avenue branch near High Street at BGC (which has become a frequent hangout spot). While I only visited the Ft. McKinley branch twice, the drinks, music and service for me hooked. Then I realized there was another branch just a couple of blocks away from my office, and I knew I had to check it out. I was not disappointed. THE FOOD: There are so many items on their menu that I absolutely love that it would be hard for me to mention then all. On the other hand, it would be a disservice to Agave not to mention them all (kind of like forgetting to mention someone in an Oscar acceptance speech.) :-) So be advised, this list is by no means exclusive, but if I were to mention some of the dishes that I've enjoyed the most I would have to say: the Shrimp Chile Rellenos, the Carne Asada Fries, the Crispy Chipolte Pork Sisig, the Fajitas, the Quesadillas, the Yucatan Skewers and the Salmon a La Veracruz. (My apologies to all the dishes I love and didn't mention in this speech.) you guys definitely have to come and try these. I'm sure like me, you won't me disappointed. THE DRINKS: Okay, I don't think I've tried so many different brands of Tequilas in a single place (except for Mexico of course). They offer Camino Real, Sauza, Patrón, Casa Noble, and even the famous Clase Azul. And for you ladies who are into Margaritas, they have almost any flavor imaginable! THE MUSIC: I'm a sucker for Latin music, and I was pleasantly surprised that Agave plays Latin music all afternoon and throughout the early evening. So if you like the Ruben Blades, El Gran Combo, Jerry Rivera or Glberto Santa Rosa, or you simply enjoy the wonderful beat of Salsa music while having some great food and refreshing drinks, Agave is definitely the place to go. THE STAFF: Many of us who venture to write reviews about places we love and hate, have a thing for customer service. It's usually one of the main contributing factors for our reviews. This is no exception. A restaurant can have great food, but if the service is not as good it is one to which it is definitely not worth returning. That is not the case of Agave. The service of excellent, from their supervisor (Jen), to their waiting staff (too many to mention), to their bartenders (Hazel and Jemma), they all made me feel welcomed during every single visit. This place is just radiating with energy every time my friends and I would come here to do a pre-game before a night of partying! Their food here is amazing and the servings are so huge! Everything is definitely perfect for sharing! But what I most especially like about this restaurant is their unlimited margaritas! That is just totally genius! To complement that and also to have something to munch on as we enjoy our margaritas, they also have unlimited nachos! I simply couldn't believe it! This is definitely the perfect place to just have a good time and drink the night away! Although apart from those promos, I also especially like their burritos! The servings are so generous exploding with meat, rice and bean filling! This is also one of those places where you could get exceptional Mexican food! Spent 2 weeks in Manila for business and I spent a number of evenings here. The food and drinks are great - try the platters and bottomless margaritas ;-) The service was brilliant and made our evening every time with their sparkling and fun attitude. Absolutely appalling food. Have a beer and move on. The tilapia taco was the worst that I have ever seen or tasted. Dripping (actually drowning) with some aweful sauce, fish was tiny and just overall poor. Refused to eat it, sent it back, and, of course, charged full price. read more
