Definitely one of the most unique takes on Mexican I've been fortunate enough to try, which is saying a lot since I was born and raised in the U.S. Arguably one of the most popular food stops in Kapitolyo, I've been about 3 times and it's never disappointed. The prices are an extremely good value for both the quality and quantity of food you get. Couple that with a nice and chill atmosphere and amazing service, and you have an awesome dining experience. And we haven't even gotten to the food yet! The food is amazing. There's no overt Filipino-Mexican fusion, but the seasoning and braising of the beef, the slight sweetness there with the savory in the nachos and tacos, and the abundance of garlic in everything all remind you of a pinoy palate. I highly suggest the burritos for sharing alongside the Silantro quesadilla and the nachos. Definitely get the nachos! Easily my favorite Mexican food in Metro Manila.

In general, I like the flavor of cilantro otherwise known locally as wansuy. So imagine my glee when a restaurant bearing such name opened nearby. We tried the Beef Nachos and the Caliente Wings. We initially thought it would be a let-down and may be one of those run-of-the-mill, fast food nachos. We were wrong. It had enough chunks of beef, guacamole sauce and mozzarela cheese. Definitely worth it at P160. The wings were also very good. At P170, you get 5 pcs wings, drizzled with guacamole sauce and topped with lettuce. The fresh dalandan juice was indeed refreshing. Though their mojitos could use more ice, both are a steal at P90. They also offer drink-all-you-can mojitos and discounted prices on beer for happy hour, which we took a swing at of course. When we were there, the customers at the table beside ours ordered a burrito and quesadillas, and man did those playes look good! Definitely going back!

Silantro's original branch. They are also located at Alabang Town Center, Solenad Nuvali, and Tagaytay HITS: Cheesy beef nachos never fails skewers, shrimp and beef Quesadillas Cilantro sauce is a gem Good service MISS: Prepare yourself for long queues during dinner time Paella is a little bit salty for my taste

I haven't tried a lot of Mexican food places in Manila but ohhhmygoodness Silantro may very well be the best of them. Their food is just so good! Don't let the small, busy location and crazy waiting times put you off because that just means it really is worth it. I suggest going at 11-ish in the morning to beat the lunch rush, and avoid Sunday evenings since it's near the Holy Family Parish and lots of churchgoers eat there after mass. The Beef Nachos and the Beef Quesadillas are my absolute favorites from there. Don't let the fact that they're under "Appetizers" in the menu fool you because the serving size is definitely for sharing and it's jam packed with so much goodness that you can get quite full on appetizers alone. The nachos are overloaded with both salsa and guac and an (almost) absurd amount of cheese. I also really like their Paella Fajita Mix because they don't skimp on the seafood.

I know a place is going to be my best friend when I take my nieces and nephews there and they like the food. Fortunately, this was the case last week when I took my nine-year-old niece there. As all mothers (and doting aunts) may know, feeding children can be difficult, and I was nervous that dinner that night was going to be another battle. I had patronized Silantro before and never miss the opportunity to order their nachos. They are SERIOUSLY the best nachos in town, and they're really cheap too! One serving can serve at least three people. The nachos are loaded with meat, cheese, and spices. If there's anything I can say about this restaurant, it's that they don't skimp on the meat. That's true even for the other dishes. The best thing about the nachos is that my niece loved them! We finished about two thirds of it, and we're not exactly hefty eaters. We also ordered quesadillas, which I liked enough. They come with very well-seasoned fries. To be honest, I do think they go a little overboard with the cheese here. You can barely see the bread, but if you're a fan of gooey cheese and not much else, you're going to love this dish. Their iced tea is also really good. I don't usually go bottomless with my juices, but I didn't mind the extra cash-out for this one.

Affordable. Delicious. Good Service. This place has it all. Make sure to come in early because this place is always packed. Beef Nachos and their Soft Tacos are the Best.

I don't think I'm ever gonna tire of Silantro's giant beef nachos. I love how they fill it up with just the right amount of chips and beef and cheese and tomatoes and sauces... it makes me feel special that they don't scrimp on them for me, the customer. Serving size is everythiiiing. Haha! Thank you, Silantro. They have really good steaks too, served on sizzling platters with mashed potatoes on the side. My friends and I would sometimes ask for more of the sour cream from the nachos (yup, you can ask for more) and pour it over the mashed potatoes. It tastes awesome, teehee! If you're in for a full lunch or dinner, try the beef skewers or the pork ribs! This is a great hangout especially at night when you're with friends. Yummy food, low-priced beer, cool, casual atmosphere. It's one of the few that stays open 'till late in Kapitolyo so expect to see it packed, but the food and the drinks are worth it.

My first burrito did have 99% rice so this one had a little less than 99% so I'd say it's better than that. The chicken was good. The veggies were just like some lettuce and beans. Dips were perfect. I'm not sure if this is authentic burrito, but I'm pretty sure it's not more of rice and not so bland. I can't say I've experienced better, but I guess they can do better. I think they're a bit pricey for most people. For me, it's just right considering how I was filled with just half the burrito (or I probably just have a tiny stomach to fill). The nacho platter in terms of appearance was pretty exciting--colorful, lots of toppings, etc. But it also fell short. There was a lot of ingredients, but they tasted store-bought and pretty cheap. Again, I was looking for more black beans, jalapeno and a bit more spice. Contrary to its plating, the flavors I'm looking for in a good nacho platter was just not there. My friend ordered the Pollo meal and was also disappointed. If you're in Mega Food Hall, I suggest you skip them and jump right to the long queue at Frankie's where what you'll be paying for will be worth it.

I availed of combo 4 - a burrito and a taco - whereas my brothers got a combo 5 (burrito and a quesadilla) and regular San Francisco Style burrito (double the meat). We all at least got to try out each other's dishes. I enjoyed my grilled chicken burrito, and my beef taco was crisp and didn't fall apart like cheaper end tacos. My brother's quesadillas weren't anything to fawn over about. The San Francisco Style ground beef burrito was definitely meatier, but I don't think it really needed to be to make you full. Mexicali has great Mexican food, but be prepared for the gas to follow your meal.

It is soft flour tortillas filled with beans, smoked chicken, corn, jalapenos jack cheese, red peppers and spinach, rolled and fried, then served with avocado-ranch dressing. It is cool and comforting to the mouth. After awhile, my friends arrived and we started ordering. We availed their Php999 promo of 1 appetizer and 2 entree of choice. More accurately, you get a puffy taco shell, made by deep frying a freshly rolled out piece of dough, filled with your choice of meat, vegetables, and sauce. The chalupa shell is the star of the show here. Its crisp golden crunch yields to a soft, chewy inside. I'd eat it with just sauce. Chipotle sauce, to be exact. Julio's gives a choice of regular crema sauce and spicy chipotle sauce. Crema finds itself somewhere between sour cream and mayonnaise both in flavor and viscosity. The regular version here reminds me of a runnier and tangier shawarma sauce, and is good in its own right. However, I'm a chilihead and the Chipotle adds a nice smoky kick to the crema. Highly recommended. As for proteins, to be honest they take a backseat here. The ground beef is alright, and there's not too much gristle, but I far prefer the grilled chicken for the texture. It's firm and meaty and provides a contrast to the shell. All in all, I highly recommend Julio's' chalupas. It's a cut above a normal taco.
