Robert from Lock and Key has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Yesterday, the lock for our door from our living room to our garage locked with no ability to unlock. Trust me, this was an extremely frustrating issue. When my very old lock set finally failed, I called Agoura Lock & Key, my HOA recommended vendor. They asked me if the failed lock was the original from when my condo was built (it was) and was warned that the newer two-piece lock sets won't fit in the same cut outs in the door. I ordered a "next day delivery" Schlage lock set from Amazon and set up an appointment for installation. Within two days, Agoura Lock & Key had my new lock set installed and working to perfection. I called ahead to see if they were able to program key fobs for a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica and Nick was very helpful on the phone. He checked his equipment and called me back to say that as long as I had original Chrysler fobs from a reputable source (KeylessJoe's online) we should be good. It only took him ~20 minutes to program two fobs and cut the emergency keys. All this for less than the price of one unprogrammed fob from the dealer! Absolutely 5 stars, these guys are great! Our front door lock suddenly decided to freeze in the locked position, deadbolt stuck in the frame. I called Agoura Lock & Key. They were very nice and said someone would be out between 4-5pm. I got a call at 3pm from Nick, who said he had finished the previous job sooner than expected and could come now. He arrived on time, & knew exactly what was wrong with the door lock. He fixed it and cleaned up the workings. Nick was quick, efficient and extremely knowledgeable. Agoura Lock does not stand behind its work. I was quoted $195 for them to change out the hardware (Emtek, provided by me) on a set of French doors. The technician struggled a lot, and ended up charging me $250 for the extra time he took to move the strike plates for both the handle and deadbolt. The functioning door did not close all the way and had a lot of play in it. The technician said that it was the best that he could do, that I should call a door company. I tried to live with it for a couple of weeks, but it was terrible. With the deadbolt engaged, the door freely moved back and forth, not even closing all the way. I called the manager, and told him the problem. He said he'd call me back. When I didn't hear back, I called again. He told me that he spoke with the technician, and that there was nothing left to do. I asked him to please send someone out to at least look at the doors, maybe just a minor adjustment was needed. He told me he'd speak with the technician again and call me back. Well, of course, he never called back. So, this morning, I moved the strike plates for the handle and deadbolt back to the original positions, and guess what? The door closes properly and the new hardware works flawlessly and smoothly. I resent being dismissed and not called back as promised. I am at the very least owed an apology, and how about the extra $55 labor charged to move the strike plates, something that wasn't needed. read more

Lost my car key FOB on a hiking trail today. Tried using my spare key and it would unlock the car but the FOB wouldn't work to start the car like it hadn't been programmed yet. Called a couple locksmiths and the first one didn't have programming capability for my model. Then called Agoura Lock and spoke to Nick... Because I was stuck, I couldn't bring the car to him so he was very nice and met me later this afternoon. Took him less than 30 min to reprogram the key and was driving home that night. Super helpful even though I didn't end up purchasing anything. I brought in the original hardware from our 1970s front door, and asked for help picking up replacements. They quickly identified a big problem and took photos to look into solutions. They called me back the next day with helpful info and basically advised me against my plan (which meant they would not make any money off of me). I recommend VERY highly!! Nick literally saved the day for me getting my small home safe open. The digital keyboard died rendering the key useless and with his knowledge of safes he was able to fiddle with it and get power to it just long enough for me to open it. Just for reference, I got a few quotes from other locksmiths and was quoted between $195 and $320 dollars with no mention of at least trying to do what Nick did. Had a problem with a lock securing my bike rack to my car's trailer receiver. The lock's mechanism had seized and I couldn't remove the bike rack. I took it to Agoura Lock and Key and within 15 minutes the guy at the shop (I didn't catch his name but he had a long beard) managed to open the lock so I could remove the bike rack.
