I found Dr. Kreiner, Patricia Saunders and his staff over 2 years ago (due to insurance changes) and I am beyond thankful to have found them!! I can't imagine my life without them!! EVERYONE in this office is so wonderful; I have not had a bad or even mediocre experience here. They have tried numerous options to find pain relief for me and always do their best. Every time I see them, I know they have my best interest at heart and actually care about me and my well being. I haven't had that kind of care and concern from a doctor's office prior to this office. They work well with my insurance company and if I owe them any money, they work with me and are understanding when it comes to payment options. I love how they tried physical therapy as a means of relief for my pain instead of just prescribing meds for me; and I have even more respect for the fact that they DON'T prescribe habit forming narcotic pain meds either (that is not a good fix for this kind of chronic pain - my personal kind of pain). I love my appointments with Trish (Patricia), she listens to everything I tell her AND even remembers what I've said when I come back in (even if it's been 6 months). She's an all around great woman too! At any rate, after trying less invasive options for pain relief, they were not effective for me and to date I have had a Cervical Epidural Injection, Facet Injections and Radio Frequency Ablations completed with Dr. Kreiner, and he is always fantastic! These are not fun procedures but he (and his staff) really do their best to make it as painless as possible! I cannot conceive of going anywhere else!! Additional phenomenal staff members are Shannon, Vanessa, Becky, Nikki & a few others who I can't remember their names off the top of my head. Staff is ALWAYS pleasant and professional (even on their most stressful days). I also have heard so many compliments that staff members pay to Dr Kreiner & Kozak; that really says a lot about the atmosphere of the office and the kind of doctor's these guys are. I haven't had any personal experience with the other doctors for my care, however just seeing them around the office, they are always friendly and courteous (especially when my toddler is running around the office)!! I have been treated at this office for years and now find that something has gone terribly wrong here and will not return. A recent procedure that they used to perform in a surgery center is now performed in an office. I was not properly sedated at all and Dr. Kriener just kept saying please stop screaming. It gave me the of being on a torcher chamber as 8 inch needles were stuck into my shoulders and up my neck. I was not sedated at all that I could tell. All in all this "surgery" seemed to tale about 15 minutes and as quickly as possible the kicked me out the from door. For the follow up and after rescheduling several times because the Dr. was "out of the country", he did not even check my range of motion or lay out a physical therapy plan. I was clear to me that he wanted me to leave and never come back because I screamed to loud during his "Taliban torture procedure." Stay away, it has become all about the money with this guy. They call it surgery yet in my opinion it is one money making scam. read more

TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! I am requesting State authorities to investigate this office. They provide no relief, they do not follow simple insurance protocols, their office staff is greatly misinformed, and they charge exorbitant fees. They recently sent me a bill for almost 2 thousand dollars for service they say they performed one year ago. I am beginning to believe they are running some sort of SCAM. For some reason, they failed to bill my insurance, probably because they would not pay their ridiculous cost, even though I am covered by two insurance companies. Went to Dr.Kreiner 3 times within 2 yr and all I had 5 min visit "There is nothing wrong with your back that can cause you pain", even though I couldn't even stand and walk. No interpretation and explanation of MRI, even the report clearly said "Severe herniated discs". No recommendation for any treatments. Dr. Kozak is fantastic as is Michael Sweeten. Most of the staff is very thoughtful and pleasant with the exception of the billing manager, Nikki (not sure on her spelling). She came in rude from the beginning assuming I was hassling her. I had a $20 charge I was told about before their billing cycle came out when I checked in for an appointment. I questioned the charge as I've met my deductible and said I wanted to ask the insurance company why I was billed that amount.The receptionist who initially told me about it was sweet and didn't take my asking to check with the insurance as an assault. Nikki came into the conversation immediately with an attitude. When I called back the next day to explain the insurance company said that the $20 line item could be billed differently and they would cover it, Nikki snapped back and said the insurance company was lying to me. When I questioned this she raised her voice and said "Just pay your bill." She then accused me of yelling at her. I was not. I would like to now, but I wasn't then. I got someone else on the phone who logically and calmly explained why the insurance company doesn't cover that line item. She did not blame the insurance company or me. This confrontation happened even before I had been sent a bill. Their bill doesn't get mailed out until for another 3 days. I feel I was accosted and treated like someone who was trying to get out of paying a very small amount. Even if the the two doctor's I've seen there are great, being treated like this makes me want to find another option for treatment. Nikki, perhaps needs another line of work. read more

After being mis diagnosed TWICE by another Ortho and a Chiro, these folks have their stuff together! Back issues, in my case, herniated disc, big one. Very honest and serious about their treatments. Back injuries are usually a marathon not a sprint. I have gotten some relief, slow, with shots, now PT, I am very encouraged. Staff is great, doctor actually involved in procedures/follow-ups, not PA or nurses, Dr. Kreiner is there looking me straight in the eye, and actually listening to me! Absolutely great staff who has helped me with my chronic spine/pain issues. Went to two other places and wasn't happy but my neurosurgeon at Barrows recommended the practice. My husband has started going for his chronic neck issues. I feel they are honest with our health issues and when they couldn't do anything more for my cervical spine they told me it was time for surgery. I was charged a lot of money for services that were not performed. I saw Dr. Crisp and he was nice during the visit. I was a new patient and everything was fairly standard. I saw him for no more than 15 minutes, 5 of which we discussed my skeptic view of physical therapy. All he did was prescribe me an anti-inflammatory and sent me to other doctors who can actually do work. In the mail I revived a bill for $500. Thats is extremely high for the work he didn't do. I called the insurance and the office and there were some things that were added to the notes that did not actually happen. This practice is a disappointment to the hippocratic oath and Dr. Crisp is not part of the solution with our current health care system but rather part of the problem. I would liked to have made an appointment for my husband to see one of the physiatrists at this facility, but the receptionist "gatekeepers" wouldn't tell me if the doctors are experienced at treating my husband's foot problem. The lack of information is incredibly frustrating. I'm not going to make an appointment for my husband, and then have him show up be told, "We don't treat that condition." Contacted Ahwatukee to provide assistance for my wife's back / neck stiffness issues. Set up web account, filled out all paperwork. Verified with Blue Shield Blue Cross that Dr Kozak was an approved provider. After online paperwork, we called the Ahwatukee office staff, confirmed all paperwork was completed. Asked if we needed to address any other forms / paperwork, nothing was noted. We traveled 3-1/2 hours from Flagstaff to this facility. We moved from waiting room to patient care room after 25 minutes past appointment. Nurse was pleasant. We answered questions from Nurse and provided guidance that wife's issues may have resulted from a car accident. She left and the Insurance Billing person showed up, she explained that Dr Kozak refuses to see anyone with a 3rd party caused accident, such as vehicle accidents. This Ins. Billings person was incoherent. Stated many things, contradicted herself numerous times. I tried to ask basic questions, like "Should we be leaving now?" We obtain more babbling type comments. Virtually not able to figure out what this person was trying to tell us. My wfie and I finally walked out of the facility and called the person that referred us to Dr Kozak. Person that referred us said he would call Dr Kozak, but don't count on anything. We got in our car and left. 10 miles down the road, we got a call back from Person that referred us stating that another doctor in this office would see my wife. We turned around (4:15 pm, heavy phoenix I-10 traffic, no easy feat), and got back, waited another 30 minutes. Original nurse was trying to help my wife, very nice person. The Insurance Billing person barged back into the patient room, and started a diatribe about their facility won't see us with out a personal signed / notarized lien. I advised Ins Billing Person to bill my charge card, it's moot as we have a high deductible BSBC policy anyway. She shoved some lien papers in my face and said, "IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE DOCTOR, YOU WILL SIGN THESE PAPERS NOW". My wife commented that she felt that she was being manipulated. I commented that we addressed all paperwork prior to driving down here, and if this lien paper was a requirement it should be disclosed as a mandatory document and not shoved in our face after traveling all day and waiting in the patient room. There was no response to my comment about, please post these requirements on your on line web registration system. My wife asked me to take her home. Upon returning home (9 pm), I did some research on YELP and learned that this office staff has quite a few complaints and the doctors are viewed as denying the problem exists. Further doing more research about personal medical liens. I do believe that the real issue here is that by not billing your insurance company, signing a lien, that you are agreeing to LIST PRICE medical services from AHWATUKEE, thus by passing the BSBC negotiated rate (probably more than double the price negotiated rate). After reviewing numerous articles written by attorneys about these Medical Liens, we realized that we did the right thing by leaving the facility. Further, while sitting in this facility and watching the numerous customers in and out, nearly all greeted by their names, it appears that this facility is more like a pain management center, where they do injections to treat the pain for their regular returning customers, but they may not address the symptoms and thus we had no idea if they were actually capable of root causing my wife's problem and solving it permanently. Gave them two months to help my young daughter with her injury, stringing her along and her pain, then they referred her to a specialist which is what I thought they were??? First of all, rarely does the office answer their phones so you leave a message in the morning and get a call back in the afternoon. Hard to get timely appointments once you are in the practice. I explained that it was extremely hard to get my daughter PT appointments, that side of their practice saying that they were extremely busy and my daughter got only two appointments in the three weeks since seeing the doctor, one a week after seeing the doctor and then the second 19 days later. How is that helping my daughter, 2 appointments in 19 days? I explained this to the doctor but he denied that this could happen. Did he think I was deliberately withholding service from my daughter or making this up. The doctors evidently have no idea how their office or PT is running. By the time it finally came to the second PT appointment, after the first one that was basically just a consult, my daughter's knee had improved with a pain level of 1 after 19 days of rest. During the second PT, where they actually had her do exercises, they hurt her and my daughter left with a pain of 7-8 and the injury was worse then when we initially went to the practice in the first place. The doctor did not want to hear this. I cancelled the rest of her PT appointments because my daughter got the flu, then we decided to go elsewhere for PT and get a second opinion on her knee. The second doctor said, "If it hurts, don't play volleyball". Paid a second specialist for that? Went back to the Ahwatukee Sports and Spine doctor but kept the other PT as they were vastly more comprehensive and doing a great job. The doctor ordered an MRI but we couldn't get in the practice for 11 days after the MRI, just to tell us they he recommends that we go to a specialist. Again, isn't that what he was supposed to be? We waited 11 days to hear that, then need to wait how much longer to get into a different specialist? They don't care. It is just appointments to tick off off their schedule to them, not people in pain, over seven weeks since her injury and she is no better off after all that time. Fortunately, I suspected that he still wasn't going to do his job with any sense of conscience with how the practice is run so I already made an appointment with another specialists, giving him one more chance to do right by my daughter but he failed....again. I even tried to explain that we have see doctors non-stop for 11 years with my son incurable disease and other health issues, that customer service and care in medicine is extremely important when parents are counting on them but all I got was, "Why are we talking about this"? They don't care. They do not see patients as customers paying for a service. We are just appointments to check off while they puff themselves up thinking that being a doctor makes them irreproachable. read more
