The vegetable flan with fondue was bland, osso bucco good, and penne with meat sauce was also good (a little too salty for me). Cheesecake was also bland but recommended by the waiter. The restaurant is not friendly towards those with mobility challenges. There's a cute exterior covered patio with a few dining tables but too cold for dinner in mid-February. Prices were fair. Interior is really charming with bookshelves lining all the walls and heavy with books and wine. Family friendly.

DINNER REVIEW I'm…read moregenerally no fan of traditional local restaurants since my mum is a pro in making Tuscan food, but I was brought here by a few friends coming from Piemonte and I was extremely glad they opened my eyes on this little corner. The restaurant is outside the center, in a more "industrial area" and this is why it is probably the one you want to go if you're on a business trip and would like to have some serious cooking before heading to bed. They also have an interesting new deal, since you can buy the products you eat, directly in the restaurant. The selection is wide: cured meats, the famous steak, home made jams, Tuscan cheese, jellies, durum wheat pasta, tomatoes, pickled veggies, olives, paté and of course wines and liquors. You can make your purchase online as well. As for my dinner, it was simply special: Appetizers of pickled onions, artichokes, eggplant, dried tomatoes, olives, olives paté on bread, selection of cheese with two different jams, the incredibly tasty vegetarian little tart, drowned in melted cheese Main course: tagliatelle with Porcini mushrooms, divine Second course: Florentine steak, fried mushrooms and fried vegetables All to be appreciated with different kinds of Dosio wines. It's enough to feel happy at the end of such a meal!

The staff was extremely helpful in understanding the menu and with recommendations for both food and wine. We started with 3 antipastos - the crustinis, the beef tongue and the herring carpaccio. All phenomenal. I would never order beef tongue typically, but trust me do it! It's delicious! Then we had the artichoke lasagne, roasted chicken and rabbit penne. Again, all fantastic. We ended the evening with the chocolate cake that was light, airy, and gone within a minute .

Quite simply, this will be a "Top 10" dining experience for you. Maybe Top 10 forever or "Top 10"…read moreof the year (if you dine out a lot). Upon getting ready to leave, the proprietor and our server asked how everything was. My reply was "Perfect" - and it was. They humbly said "perfect is reserved for God". Very fair. So that is where I said "Top 10." It will be in your Top 10 also. Everything was prepared there - everything. I tried some things I would never try in the US, and they were all delicious. We were with 2 older children, who often have different taste buds than adults, and they loved it. If you dine there, ask for their recommendations and do not be afraid to try something new. If I am anywhere near Firenze (Florence for my US folks), Da Delfina will absolutely be a stop for a "almost perfect" meal. If you're vising Florence, drive out to the countryside, enjoy the beauty, and have an exceptional meal at Da Delfina. I can make a very safe wager that it will be in your Top 10 also.

The pizza was one of the best I have ever had; crust was perfectly soft and chewy with a little crispness from just the right amount of char. The spaghetti was freshly made and perfectly al dente. We had four different varieties: gianciale, carbonara, pomodoro, and carbonara. All were phenomenal. the roasted potatoes were also great for a side. Even the bread and their chili oil condiment were fabulous. The only weak spot was the seafood risotto, which was a little less creamy than the way we like it, but still full of seafood flavor. All in all, definitely a family favorite from our trip.

We were staying at the nearby Marriott, which is walking distance away, the original reason besides the positive Yelp reviews we chose it. We ended up eating there three times on our four day Florence (Firenze) stay. On each of our visits we were the only tourists, the only ones speaking English. Keep in mind on our visits only one waiter spoke English, the owner does not and one waitress does a little. But nevertheless the service was exceptional, the waiter is a great guy providing service like we were his favorite regulators. As for the food, it was three of our best meals as we spent a total of seventeen days traveling around Northern Italy. The pizza was as perfect as any we had the entire trip and we had many great pies! The crust(s) were spot on, the sauce and cheese(s) used were perfectly balanced. And the tiramisu was outstanding!
