No really much to say bout a credit union I guess. Nice…read morefriendly staff, never really a huge queue, and even if there is, you won't be waiting more than five minutes. It's kept clean, in a really good location, just at the top of Blanchardstown Village there and the opening hours are pretty great. That's probably one of the reasons I like dealing with these guys a little more than the bank. They're open on a saturday, which if you're working Monday - Friday is seriously handy!

Really nice spacious new building, it's a welcoming change from the old dull branch. What's super impressive is the online account service, so this sets them apart from the average credit union. Just like online banking from your bank, I can go on and see my transactions across my savings and/loan accounts. Ok ye don't get all the functionality of online banking but being able to set up standing order and just leave it going, with a little eye over it every now and again. Also when I moved out of the district they allowed me to keep my account there and have been nothing but friendly and accommodating since.

I felt confident as I watched a multitude sidle up to the ATMs to conduct their transactions without any problems. Besides, it wasn't exactly a kiosk at a pub, right? I mean we're talking the Bank of Ireland, so I popped in my card without much thought and out popped my euros. No worries at all. Just a little irritation coming from the lady behind me as I took my time to make sure I got it right. As far as I can tell, all went well and I'm still in possession of a few of those euro, thanks to some savvy maneuvering on my part!

I got up and headed down to my local branch preparing to sell my soul and cry if I had to. As it turns out, tears weren't needed. It would seem all the paperwork The Bank From Up North wouldn't accept proved to be more than enough. The lovely lady who helped me suggested I set up student account as there are no fees. Score. All in all it took less than twenty minutes for me to set up my account. Love these guys.

This review is focused more on the building as a landmark. It is a common meeting place for people in the city. It also is a popular hang out for bored youths, it attracted a skater culture for as long as I can remember. Interesting sculpture but the wind tunnels that it creates are a nightmare especially on a cold day.

It's not worth it if you're planning on it because normally I'm upset if I can't take a tenner out. However, there is the odd time when I need to handle larger sums of money, say when I'm paying the rent. At times like this you either have to plan your ATM withdrawals very cleverly for several days, i.e., Bank of Ireland only lets you take out €300 at a time, and then most times that's your last withdrawal for a day. That's where Permanent TSB comes in, it lets you take out larger sums sometimes up to €750 if you're really lucky! So the next time you're thinking of laying all your money on the dogs, skip Bank of Ireland and go straight to Permanent!
Normally I don't take the time to write Reviews, but this has been getting on my nerves so much I…read morejust have to let it loose. After having moved to Ireland I started off with AIB. This was a horrible experience in terms of Fees. AIB just charges ridiculous fees for every thing. Simply put you pay fees on almost every transaction... So I Switched to Permanent TSB. Which was said to be FEEless. However.. as it turns out... Permanent TSB charges you 10 euros for Every transaction that can not be completed. So if you have just 1 cent too little on your account, rather than going to a negative balance and being charged interest over that (of normally around 10 to 15% abroad) you get a 10 euro charge.. which is amounts to ridiculous amounts if, like me, you're a person that doesn't keep big amounts of money on his current account (which I'm not forced to do) But worst of all.... WORST of all is the HORRIBLE Online experience. Open24. They call it Internet banking, but it's simply the most outdated ONline banking experience I've ever had. In Netherlands we had better online banking than this 10 years ago... You cannot see your own bank account number. You can't see your pending transactions. You cannot search in your statements without having to request them first and get some kind of Code... Basically you can't do anything except see your balance and the last 10 completed transactions. It's got an overly complicated Login system that is unrelated to your bankaccount number, resulting in me having to remember 4 different numbers to be able to use the online banking. There is no security Token involved... and worst of all... this is all done to make things save, however if you are logged in you can basically do whatever you like without further verification. Irish banking isn't very good, but this is just the worst. I don't understand how people accept this ridiculous level of service. Only reason I didn't give it the lowest score is because all Irish banks are pretty bad in terms of Fees and Online banking.
