Came to NYC on a work trip a while back and of course I brought my nice clothes (you know the kind that you can only dry clean) and as clumsy as I am, at a work dinner I spilled my ramen and soy sauce on my best coat and I was really upset. I found Aida's on a whim and went in immediately in the morning as they open at 7 am. I noted the stains on my coat and they paid special attention to them. They have super fast service and got my coat done in 2 days for under $20! I was thrilled I could spend the rest of my work trip wearing my nice coat. The staff here is also so friendly and extremely knowledgeable and have been in the business for over 20 years! I also recommended this place to my friend recently during COVID and she let me know they also do delivery and pickup which is really nice especially during this pandemic where it's not really safe to go outside. Walked in with my comforter and an older man that was there working behind the counter saw me approaching. As I walked in he turned away and didn't even acknowledge me. HUGE two thumbs down to Aidas Dry cleaning in Smithtown. I've been a loyal customer of theirs for over 5 years and have used their wonderful tailoring and alternation services, as well as referred them to many family and friends. But after the disrespectful treatment I received today I will never go back! I brought them a plain white solid queen comforter that has a ruffle trim, which was purchased right before being stored away for winter, and had tons of wrinkles. I asked them to de-wrinkle the comforter as well as the matching two pillow cases and a throw pillow. (I had called and spoken to them about this and they said it could be done.) At drop off, I said the comforter didn't need to be cleaned, but the owner told me that she would have to dry clean the comforter to get the wrinkles out. Fine. Well today I went with my 1 year old to pick up my wrinkle-free items, which were brought out of the back, stuffed into a bag. Wth?? When I complained, I was told right off the bat that they couldn't get the wrinkles out bc "that's the pattern." No, it's not I told them. It's not a crepe style pattern, it's supposed to be flat. I know what I purchased. They're wrinkles that CAN come out. If it was a pattern, it would be a consistent pattern around the whole item. But instead some areas were nice smooth ruffles and others areas were a wrinkled mess. The entire time I was there, I was constantly interrupted, yelled at, spoken to with a rude attitude, and told by a man (who I'm assuming is an owner as well) to SHUSH ! After some back and forth, I was told she would only charge me for the comforter bc they "cleaned it". When I pointed out that it was DIRTY as well as full of wrinkles, I was asked "so what do you want!?" I told them, "I'm not paying for my items that are coming back dirty and wrinkly." I was abruptly told to then "Just go. Leave!" and to leave my items. Not going to happen. I told them no way, and to look at the dirt spots on the comforter that were clear as day. Neither of them wanted to look! The male owner actually insisted "I don't care. It's clean." The female owner's response was "it doesn't matter because you won't pay." You're damn right I'm not! I took my things and left. Never in my life have I ever been spoken to with such disrespect. The whole time I was holding my 1 year old trying to gather up my things with 1 arm to leave the store. The female owner, who has been helpful and kind in the past, wouldn't even so much as turn around! Shame on them. They lost a customer for life, as well as costumers from 3 other families, over a $45 sale. Aida's if you couldn't do it, then just say so. But don't expect to charge customers for it anyway! read more

I have been here a few times and never had the pleasure, actual massive displeasure of encountering the male owner. They are very deferential and pleasant to male customers, but to females it's a completely different story. He wanted to take all my simple dry cleaning but wanted me to come back during the hours the tailor is in just to pin a simple item, I took the whole lot and said forget it...will try the other thousand dry cleaners in Smithtown, Hauppauge. The best dry cleaners I've been to on Long Island, hands down. This is a family owned business and the owners are the sweetest couple! The dry cleaning is fast and reliable. I had to get a zipper fixed on my winter coat and Aida's made it look as good as new. Now I only bring my dry cleaning and alterations here. read more

Expect good dry cleaning service, but very poor customer service. The employees (or possible owners) there are not friendly and give you an attitude whenever you ask anything. Just because of that I am not going back. The representative (possibly an owner) did contact me after I posted this review and commented "We Apologize it might've just been a bad day." The comment was posted later. I truly believe that in a business that involves customer service, there should be no "bad days." The reason I believed that the customer service was poor was not related to 10% discount, but the the overall attitude of the cashier. read more
