Santa made a fantastic appearance this year after Joy Cleaners dry cleaned his outfil including wig and beard. What a beautiful job was done. It looks brand new but is 25 years old. This Cleaner is the best along with his wife. They are so friendly and personable and I would highly recommend them to all. By the way, his wife is the seamstress who does wonders. I will never return and never recommend. The owner made extremely odd comments to myself and my daughter while awaiting a fitting with the seamstress. The seamstress was rude, huffed and puffed the entire time she was chalking our dresses. The pricing is absolutely outrageous for sub par quality. Our dresses were hemmed crooked. She did not even attempt to take in the bust or straps of the dress which clearly needed it because it was already too much work. i took my coat into get cleaned and fur cuff buttons replaced. they charged me over .$50 and did not repair the buttons on the cuff. I pucked up the coat and did not eat it for a few months and did not think to check repair. I went back and they were very rude and refused to do the repair they charged me for. they are scammers watch out. I am sending a complaint to Suffolk county dept of consumer affairs. I went in w to get my down alternative comforter cleaned-it's a Buffy organic comforter-eucalyptus being the main filler. When he didn't see the care instructions he asked me to look them up... that's when I discovered it could be washed in a machine. He could've taken it- he could've charged me $$$$ unnecessarily. I was using another dry cleaner but once they closed I needed to find a new place. I walked into " Joy Cleaners" and met with one of the owners. He was a pleasure to speak with and I told him I'd be back with my dry cleaning. I have been there a few times now and I'm delighted with the service, quality, prices, and the quick turnaround. Both of the owners are so kind and willing to go the extra mile for their clients. They won't even throw you out if you happen to knock over a box that holds hundreds of buttons. If you wear clothes ( I assume most of you do) and you'd like them cleaned, I highly recommend stopping by this location. I had to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed so I went to Joy based on the reviews on Yelp. At the end of the day, it is my fault for not checking the price on the receipt before leaving, but I was charged 180$ for shortening of a gown. When bringing up the price amount, the response was that she is not cheap. Dress is hemmed nicely, but 180$ is insane for shortening. The dress itself was 120$. It is a very small, simple shop with no AC or any frills. It is my responsibility to check a price before a service, but by the looks of the establishment, I had 0 expectation of a price out of the normal range. The woman was fairly nasty. I went in to get a woman's jumpsuit altered. I bought the outfit a size up knowing I would get it altered because the smaller size was just too tight. After coming out of the changing room the woman made a comment about how I would be able to afford the service. I work ma'am. She also commented about how she wanted to take short cuts by not going by the zipper and do other alterations to make it fit. After all was said and done and I changed back she told me it was going to cost me triple what I paid for the original outfit and continued to make a comment about how she 'told me' it would cost a lot. It wasn't the price that made me walk out but how she made me feel that she was going out of her way to make these alterations so I asked her to take the pins out and I walked out. My entire family has used this cleaners for many years. The thing that makes them amazing is the seamstress there can alter anything. Literally anything. I just had a bunch of oversized shirts altered, thus giving them a brand new life. My girlfriend had several sweaters altered and they look great. She can also mend holes in expensive garments. This is my first time going here. I figured it's convenient to work. This place is so overpriced and terrible. Paid $25 to let down a hem. $15 to fix a half inch rip in a seam that still had threads hanging out of it and the shirt j brought in to be pressed is still wrinkled. I will not return there. My husband had a very important ceremony. As with all things, he waited until last minute to press his Gi. We were unable to get the wrinkles out and we were down to the last 3 hours. We called MANY places to see if we could get it professionally pressed and they turned us down because it was late. When I called Joy Cleaners I explained the importance of the occasion and the predicament we were in. They were willing to turn their machines back on just for us! The material was very difficult to work with and after pressing it 3 times they were able to take care of it. I am extremely grateful that they took the time to restart their machines and worked hard with the difficult material. The evening was a success and the Gi looked great!
