When I first came to DSR I could barely turn my head due to severe neck and upper back pain from muscle spasms. Dr James Cecil gets a special shout out. He is one of the most competent and kind providers I have encountered. I am a physician and wish I could have all my patients with neck and back issues go see him. He takes a comprehensive approach to treating which includes physical therapy and myofascial elements. There are many other wonderful providers who offer dry needling and sports massage. DSR also offers a membership package which includes access to their Im equipment including hot and cold tanks and cryotherapy. I would recommend this to anyone with chronic pain. You do not need to play sports or be an athlete to come here.

Made the appointment with Dr. "M". The Harlan building is noisy, close to the road, bright and does not give a warm or relaxing feeling. Dr. "M" is a powerful person. Dr's can't "see" the spine/neck correctly without an Xray!! On the second visit, laid on the "roller table", Dr. "M" pushed on my back...thought I was going to have a broken rib or at least vomit in my mouth. WAY too hard for a seventy year old man. Then progressed to give my head a sharp twist. Fortunately my neck muscle were so tight they protected my neck. Basically the "vanilla" adjustments. Brutal and unnecessary force. Two red flags! I did have neck pain for a few days, they said that was "normal" HA. (CYA) I cancelled any future appts. Interested how much Medicare was charged. I was in search for a high quality, experienced, caring Dr., this took three months of searching. Do you know where your Dr.'s degree is from ?? I do. SINCE then I have an awesome Dr. First we have a consultation, then she requires an Xray! Makes sense. On the next visit, after reviewing the X-ray and write up from the Xray Dr. we talk about my med history, which is quite extensive. My awesome current Chiro Dr. said I should NEVER EVER have my head twisted like Dr. "M" did, otherwise severe injury and or further damage or paralysis could very possibly happen as C5-6 has been fused,etc. I do not know why any Chiro Dr. would lay a hand on anybody without a Xray !!!! The risk is too great. As well as their adjustment would be a "guess", with minimal success. If someone cannot spend $100 or so for an Xray then you do not understand the risks of Chiro adjustments and do not want optimum, professional, complete, safe and progressive care. Otherwise the 5 year plan. Believe me I was fortunately saved from possibly further neck/spine damage as my neck muscles were "locked" and prevented any further damage! Everyone should invest in an Xray annually ! I would avoid this location. PS

She's the type of person that if you are a talker while you're receiving your treatment, she will chat if you're not a talker she will allow you to relax you can go to sleep. I emergency made an appt here because I had had several shooting pain episodes at my part-time job and had no idea what was happening. I had gone to 2 Thai massages and they did help some things but the shooting pain thing down my leg returned. During my first appointment with Dr. Eisenhower, I felt like one of those wooden faceless dolls that people use to learn how to draw anatomy from. Dr. Eisenhower just pulled every limb and my spine and neck and literally uncrunched everything! He said I adjusted well. I had no idea how crunched everything had become! I had been working at this new job for only 4 months! I literally felt like a new person after my major first adjustment and found the ice pack on the roller machine afterward to be very pleasant. I could even put my hands palms to the floor bending forward which had not been possible for several months! I felt slight elation as well! I literally felt like I had just been woken up in LIFE. Prices are extremely reasonable and if you've been going to chiropractors throughout your life for 40+ years, then you've probably seen a RANGE of what goes on at a chiropractor. Dr. Eisenhower's place is very calming and his personality is friendly and calm. He does not seem to be aggressively selling a "chiropractic lifestyle". So that felt very positive. 27AUG2014 After 16…read moresessions here is my assessment. 1. Acupuncture does no harm. 2. I think it might be useful for muscle or nerve pain/problems. 3. If you think it will help then try it. It is affordable. 4. In my opinion, useless for relieving chemotherapy symptoms. Chemo drugs are nasty as they are trying to [almost, but not quite] kill you. Friday (09MAY2014). Acupuncture session at 1500. Saturday. Crappy mouth is reduced and I have a lot less fatigue. Was it: a. Acupuncture? b. Poisons excreted from my body? c. Both? d. Neither? I don't know. 02MAY2014 Very pleasant people. Took a lot a notes prior to my acupuncture. I feel very comfortable with them. Will see how it goes. Chemotherapy is nasty. I get loaded up with: Oxaliplatin, 5-fluoroucil, zofran, decadron, leucovorin every 2 weeks. The side effects are very unpleasant. I am hoping that acupuncture can alleviate some of the symptoms. Chemo mouth (aka crappy mouth). Food tastes bland. Carbohydrates taste like cardboard. Fatigue. 1-3 naps a day. Low platelet and white blood cell counts. The poison kills everything.
