I can't rave enough about the wonderful staff at this hotel!!…read more We got an email before our stay informing us that there was going to be a Marathon taking place in the morning after our Saturday night stay. Our hotel, which was very close to the Old Town, would be off limits to vehicles until 4:00 p.m. We were only going to be there the one night, and would need to get on the road long before that time. The email said that the normal check-out time would be extended until then. But we were worried. We don't travel light, and had no idea where we'd park, since the garage wouldn't be a viable option. We imagined ourselves playing leapfrog with our luggage through the streets of Graz. That didn't happen. Instead, when we checked in we were told that we could park in the garage, or they would park it for us outside of the Marathon zone and retrieve it when we were ready to leave the next day. And to make up for the inconvenience, they comped the breakfast buffet for the next morning, which was excellent. Our room was wonderful - spacious and modern, as was the rest of the hotel. Everyone at the desk was so genuinely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was only a stone's throw from the Old Town. The next morning one of the staff carried all our luggage to our car, which was parked a few blocks away in an outside space. And before we left, the young woman at the desk got me a cup of coffee to go! Augartenhotel is definitely as good as it gets!

First impression when I entered this hotel was WOW. Its an old building with very modern…read moredecorations. Looks clean and high end. Mick Jagger stayed there, along with many local celebrities, actors, I think even Schwarzenegger had a room there... Conveniently located near downtown Gratz, everything is basically within a walking distance. That's about it. Here is a list of cons that really bothered me during my stay: - My room was in between 2 floors thus forcing me to carry my (very heavy) luggage to my room. not cool when you have 50 pounds luggage in both hands and you just arrive after a 19 hours trip. - Bed is on the floor. Elevated floor but no spring box. It makes it really hard to lay down if you have a bad back/knee. You literally have to "crawl" to bed. This was extremely annoying. (The room looks like an IKEA demo bedroom. Nice looking but you can tell it's a bit cheap and very fake.) See here: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/hotel-wiesler-graz?select=V3cM2cvs93iztzinxaEefQ - After the cleaning lady came to my room: - PUBIC HAIRS showed up by the head of the bed! (and those were certainly NOT mines!!!) See here: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/hotel-wiesler-graz?select=t9f1LWyO4h9IHvesaKYGIw - She unplugged my iPad and removed the charger from the power outlet...huh... who touches customer's property like this? my tablet was therefore not charged when I got back to my room. Unacceptable. - You can't walk around the buffet in the breakfast room. Nice breakfast but the space b/w the buffet and the chairs/tables is so small that 2 people can't 'cross' without bumping into seated customers (r bumping into each other). Many frustrated customers. A mess. - The room has stickers that actually threaten customers in case of bad behavior (Thieves are pigs... smoking in the room and you'll be joined by very angry firemen...etc) This is childish, offensive for well behaving customers. it's like judging people on their intents. I feel it's very disrespectful. They can just say "no smoking" or "the hairdryer is yours for $100"... See here: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/hotel-wiesler-graz?select=IBrdgZFwhMitMKuvQW1XQQ The man at the front desk was quite rude when talking to me. I won't go back

I stayed in this hotel for business purposes and am basing my review on my business requirements…read more The parking was easy and the location was easy to get to. This hotel is in a perfect location to explore Graz and get some traditional Austrian food, drink and scenery. The lower review is down to room facilities. The room was large and clean but missed some essentials for me. There are no tea/coffee making facilities and no iron/ironing board. The bed was large, the pillows soft and the mattress firm. Not my personal preference but i slept and felt rested. Unfortunately, the thin walls made it harder as I heard everything my neighbours did (showers, opening their wardrobe etc) The biggest problem for me was the shower, although it was really clean and modern I had problems with the water. You cannot set a consistent temperature. It would go ice cold and then scolding hot within seconds. Sometimes it would be fine, but sometimes it was hard to take a shower. I suspect it's when it others are using the water nearby. Overall my experience was okay and because I was busy I was never able to give the hotel the opportunity to fix my problems. I'm sure if I did they would have done their best as the staff were extremely friendly upon checkin and came across very helpful.

What an amazing find! Perfect for the location, parking, seeing the sites, and just relaxing…read more Upfront: I highly recommend this place. It's been a rough year for my family and me...a rough few years actually and we needed a diversion. We try to fit in a vacation/time away here and there to get our minds off of "things" and time away was in need, so away we went. Sometimes when you book things online, you never know what you are going to get. This hotel sounded too good to be true. But it was true...and then some! We were blown away by all of it! From the location, the friendly staff, and the room. Take a look at my pictures...I booked a suite at a fair price and it was huge! Normally if you want space, you need to book an apartment of some sort, Airbnb, etc. We definitely had enough room to spread out and not be in each other's way. The beds and pillows were comfortable, but I want to point out my son slept on the pull out sofa bed and it was oddly very comfortable. Oddly because normally they just aren't. The sofa bed was made up before we checked in and they had put a special foam mattress on it making it extra cozy and perfect actually. We didn't need heat or air since the room temperature was perfect when we stayed. The view from the room is of the city, and it was nice to people watch. The location is perfect and within walking distance to historic sites, bakeries, restaurants, etc., not to mention it is right beside a mall and grocery store. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Someone is always manning the desk in case you need something or information. Parking is available through the hotel. If you wish to park in front of the hotel, you must book with them in advance as spaces are limited. However, the mall next door allows parking as well and you get a special price when staying at the hotel, but no need for reservation. Very convenient. There is a restaurant at the hotel as well; however, we didn't get a chance to partake. Moreover, for an extra fee you can have breakfast at the hotel. We did not choose the breakfast option, but it looked like quite the spread. Staying here definitely took our minds off our life events for a little bit...we truly enjoyed our stay. Again, highly recommend!

The rooms were large and clean, the bathrooms were large and the water pressure was good. The bed was incredibly hard, but that is a common theme in Europe. The wifi was decently reliable, but unfortunately did not work on well on my phone on the far side of my room, which is where the bed was, as I was the last room on the end of the hall. (So scrolling through social media before bed was out of the question.) It was frustrating because it was hot during the day and cold at night, so the AC was not turned on in the building, but the room would get incredibly stuffy if you didn't have a window open. Which would have been fine, except that there is a loud bar underneath the window with people yelling in the street at all hours of the night - so sleeping with the window open was a challenge. However, the staff were all very friendly, and the breakfast is phenomenal. So many things to choose from, and all delicious. I was very impressed with the selections for the breakfast - definitely worth adding it to your reservation. Overall, it was a decent experience and there were no huge issues. Since the location is so convenient I'll likely stay there again but will come better prepared for temperature and noise.

Rooms are located on the top two floors of a building that is directly next to the central train station - great location, especially if you want to do a day trip from Graz or leave early in the AM (but only a 20 min walk or 5 min city train from the tourist downtown, so still good for budget-conscious tourists). Compact room with everything you need, including the soap preloaded in the bathroom. No complaints from me. Only issue was sound of construction during the day, but work was stopped in the early evening until the late morning of the next day. Breakfast buffet was great, though a bit pricey. Typical spread of charcuterie, hard bread, cakes, yogurt, with added hot items like eggs, wurst, and hot waffles. Great view of train station from dining room.

This hotel provides seminar rooms as well as great food. The price of the dishes served in the Parkhotel restaurant is residing in the upper price segment but you get high quality for your money. The staff is friendly and willing to help and since implemented in a hotel they are briefed to and used to speak English to their international guests. So that is quite convenient. And at the main entry of the hotel you are welcomed by a Saint Florian statue. Not only therefore but also because of the family name of the hotel owner family is Florian, the hotel's restaurant is called Restaurant Florian. I had a beef filet in sauce with Serviettenknödel (sliced bread dumpling) together with fresh green salad with pumpkin seed oil on top of it. The filet comes with Preiselbeermarmelade (cranberry marmalade) which is typical for Austria and very popular as it gives a sweet taste to your meat.
