I had a really pleasant experience out of HNL with Qantas....well going back, not so much. My seat…read morewas assigned at the check-in counter, and usually they ask you if you want a window and an aisle given they are still available. This lady did not ask me at all and gave me a middle seat so I assumed it was full. Then I had two bags to check, well under their limit....but she asked me if I knew the limit for check-in bags after I put them on the scale.....Why?? Because she just wanted to be rude. I got on the plane from the back and it is a chaos....they should just seperate front and back entrances by the seat row. Instead they do by first and economy but towards the end of the boarding , anything goes. So I am trying to go to my seat from the back but then people are coming from the front all the way to the back....Needless to say I cannot get to my row. So I asked the flight attendant in the back if I can just sit in one of the many open seats in the back....his response is no. So i proceeded my way all the way to the middle at the very last end to sit in the middle seat...And guess what there is an aisle seat right in front my row. The food is not bad at all at Qantas but I was appalled by the service for this flight. And please do not tell me they gave me the seat I was assigned to because of weight and balance because there was a better seat open right in front of me. I unfortunately just happened to have to deal with meanies.

This is the first time I have flown on Quantas. I usually fly British Airways…read more I flew from New York to Sydney, with a short stop in Los Angeles, and then onto Adelaide. Total journey time, including stops, plane changes, was about 26 hours. Considering how long the journey took, I have to say that I found the Quantas crew, service, meals, and the plane equipment (I flew in Premium Economy) were all first class. Well done Quantas. I will certainly utilize your service again in the future and recommend you highly to anyone I know planning on visiting Australia from the USA.

Honestly, this is so much better than the older bus station, not that I really catch buses all this…read moremuch these days, namely because flying is so much cheaper, and convenient, and faster (though not so environmentally friendly). Yeah, the old bus station was a bit of a dump, however this newer one has great facilities, and is a much better place for buses that come through Adelaide, which is probably the major non-car method of getting around the state. Yeah, they have definitely made it a much better place to catch buses from.

Coming from the country I have frequented the Adelaide Central Bus Station more than I would like…read moreto admit. That 6 hour Stateliner trip with 8 million stops to Mount Gambier is the bane of my existence and as soon as I could get my license I was saving for a car so I wouldn't have to travel on the bus anymore. Having said that, for those who don't mind the bus the service has greatly improved as has the facilities. The new Central Bus Station has been there for a few years but looks so much nicer than the sad looking building next door that was its former residences. The building is light and airy and there is plenty of seating room while you wait. There is big row of customer service people who can help with your questions and a little café to purchase magazines or food for the trip. There are nice toilet facilities and a freight area where you can pick up packages sent up on the buses. A definite improvement on what used to be there before, although there is still not great parking which becomes a pain.
