Letter I was given after a 10 hour delay.
    Sean P.

I realize I am only 24, but I can say with certainty that this was absolutely the worst experience I have had in my entire life to date. Flying from London Gatwick to Toronto. Arrived at the airport at 8:30am for a 11:15am departure time. Got to the check-in desk and was told bluntly that there was a 3 hour delay, and we could pick up a £5 voucher at the customer service desk. After lining up for a good 25 minutes at the customer service desk, I got my £5. Shot the shit until I could board, which ended up being around 3:15pm (4 hours after promised takeoff). Sat at the gate for about an hour before we were told there were "computer issues" ... 1 hour goes by and finally a mechanic is coming to fix the issue ... 2 hours go by and now the issue has been fixed and we're being de-iced (on +2°C night in London England) ... 2 hours goes by and now we're waiting for a runway to take off ... Now we're letting off 2 people who requested to leave the flight ... 1 hour goes by and now we get the announcement we're ready to go... But we're 3rd in line for takeoff... I don't know if anyone has ever sat for 6 WHOLE HOURS inside a plane without budging, but I swear it's a very special kind of hell. Especially when hope is constantly shattered every time the pilot says "just 2 more minutes here". People were booing every time the pilot started to speak. People yelling at flight attendants, everyone was antsy and aggravated in this very confined space. At one point they turned off the AC for 10 minutes to de-ice the plane. I had to do breathing meditation to avoid having a panic attack or passing out) We were told if we left the flight during our 6 hour stint on the tarmac, we would forfeit our flight and Air Transac would do nothing to help us. We took off the runway at around 9pm. To put that in perspective, we were supposed to fly out at 11:15am. That's a total of a 10 HOUR delay. We landed in Toronto at 12am, as opposed to the originally promised 2pm arrival time. The flight attendants were very very lovely people and very kind and patient. But the ground Air Transac staff after landing were some of the worst people I have ever spoken to. The first lady I asked for a Taxi voucher, she told me there's no need because the TTC (Toronto subway) runs 24/7. This was a lie and I told her so. The second lady handed me a useless piece of paper that basically said "Sorry.. hope you still like us!" I asked where I can get a taxi voucher and she (very rudely) told me to just send my receipt to Air Transac, which I will be doing. I have JUST arrived home, and it is now 3:20am Toronto time - 24 hours after I arrived at Gatwick. I can safely say, in my 24 years of living, this has been the most stressful, painful, and claustrophobic 24 hours of my life. NEVER fly this airline. You have been warned. It is NOT worth it.

the crack in the ceiling above me
    Justin N.

After refusing to address my concerns (attached in the pictures with a cracked ceiling, duct tape on the wings, my armrest on the floor with the wires hanging out, etc) I'm reporting them to the CTA for safety violations. I'm flying again with them in April because I have to but they wouldn't even offer to upgrade my seats this time for the seats and experience I had last time. I've had enough with their safety violations and their response to those who have been subjected to them. They simply do not care about your well-being or want to resolve any concerns you have because they know if you're taking the airline it's because you can't afford to take another. That is simply an abusive way to view and treat your customers. If you can wait and save up a tiny bit more to take any other airline, do it! If we start respecting ourselves, airlines will soon follow.

Air Transat New Club Class Seats - plenty of space. Better seats are in row 2
    Noel E.

Club Class on the new Air Transat planes are worth the money HUGE value with the spacious seats and service. Pretty much the best "business class" bang for your bucks in the airline fleets. Would fly again but only in club class when we viewed the economy seats they looked pretty tight.

This is club seating! Noting like the advertising! Unbelievable!

Both airlines fly out of Toronto Pearson's Terminal 3. I had checked in earlier online, so I had already paid for my lone piece of luggage. I simply needed a physical set of boarding passes and a bagtag for my luggage. I only got a single boarding pass to cover Toronto to BOS. I didn't get the second one. I managed to place my bagtag on my luggage, but dropping it off at one of the automated luggage scanners wasn't all that clear. I have two experiences. I'll start with the unpleasant one first. With my bagtag on my luggage, I needed to drop it off. The closest set of automated luggage scanners didn't work for me. I learned that they were fine for domestic flights. I was going to the States. I saw a sign at the Delta check-in counter with real people where I could line up for any Delta-WestJet concerns. There was one person being helped. I waited. I got a woman from Delta who came up to me. We had this conversation: "You're waiting where the exit is," she said. "I don't see a sign saying that it's an exit. I have a question, as your sign says that it's for Delta-WestJet check-ins," I said, pointing at that sign. "Nope. You're checked in," she replied. She was not helpful. I needed to know where I could drop off my luggage. I didn't need a self-righteous woman telling me that I'm checked in. Apparently, questions are not accepted once you are checked in. There was no warmth in her. I actually feel for her. She's in the wrong profession, especially if she has to deal with people and provide customer service. She should be a kiosk instead, really, without any emotion and break down because she's not wired properly. I did find the dropoff for WestJet and Delta travellers going to the States. It was straightforward. I then headed through security practically next door. I then needed help getting my second boarding pass, as I actually noticed that I didn't have it when I was at my gate. I asked a Delta agent at one of the other gates. I was dreading getting a cold response, but he was the nicest person and took the time to explain how things work. For the second segment, since it goes from state to state, I needed to head to the counter where my flight was boarding and ask someone there for a boarding pass. I had my bagtag sticker on my boarding pass, which was enough to get that boarding pass. I thanked him for his help. He wished me a great day and even blessed me. Wow. Night and day. Delta staff at Pearson needs to be more like this man. I generally like Delta. This experience was my first not-so-pleasant one. Five stars for the nice man. Two stars for the bitter woman who needs a personality transplant. My overall rating is a 3.5, but I'll round down and hope that things are better should I ever fly on Delta in the near future. However, I received no email, text message, or any formal notification disclosing this information to me. So when I land in Toronto, I find out my flight was cancelled when the US customs officer scans my boarding pass. Delta made absolutely no effort to contact me regarding my cancellation. Upon going to the Delta desk at the airport, the worker is unable to disclose why my flight was cancelled, and says I've automatically been booked in the next flight. He is rude and reluctant to give me any information at all. I practically had to pry the new flight information out of him, to discover my next flight would be the next morning, over 12 hours later. I ask if the airline could provide a hotel for the inconvenience. As I had still received no word from the airline formally, and they could not provide details about why the flight was cancelled (the agent had now started telling me that the airport cancelled the flight... but no reason). He refused to provide any sort of accommodation, telling me he simply wouldn't. He refused to get a supervisor, but when he finally did, the supervisor essentially told me she didn't care and I had to figure everything else out myself. And then, I finally receive a text from Delta. Saying that my new flight the next morning is cancelled. And they would not be booking me a new flight. So essentially, Delta made zero effort to help. Leaving me stranded in Toronto. I am outraged by this. I am thankfully receiving a refund for my flight (which is the bare minimum I should be receiving). I ran to the Air Canada desk, and thankfully, they were able to book me on a last minute flight same day.

On Saturday evening, we got notification that our first flight had been cancelled due to "crew hours." Around an hour later we got notification that we had been rebooked to United Airlines flights from Toronto to Newark and then on to Milwaukee. I've flown quite a bit through my life and more recently and never have I ever had such a bad experience as I did with United Airlines - not even when I flew Delta previously and my first flight got cancelled and all subsequent flights got delayed so I was at the airport literally all day, with only a measly food voucher and not even when Southwest had its disaster last holiday season and I was stuck on a bus (though compensated more than fairly for that). No, this was another experience altogether. My first instinct that something was wrong was when I was unable to check in on my flights via the United app. It kept saying something was wrong and I should go to the airport. The day of the flight, we arrived to the airport with ample time. We went to the self-kiosk to check in and again, it wouldn't let us. We waited in line for an agent and the woman we talked to was incredibly short and rude. After getting our information she kept repeating that Air Canada had booked our flights incorrect and we can't check in and she couldn't help us. She recommended we go across the hall to Air Canada, but that we likely would not be able to check bags. We went to Air Canada where they said we had ticket numbers and seats and were fully booked. But one of their agents accompanied us back to United. The agent talked to the same woman who was helping someone else at the time. When they were done talking the AC agent told us to try again with United but to come back to them as the United agent was also "giving him attitude." We were helped by another United agent who again could not find our booking, but was nicer. We were sent back to Air Canada. Air Canada rebooked us on the same flight and sent us back to United. Finally a third agent at United was able to help us and we got booked on the flight. Throughout the whole experience, there were at least two more groups who were having similar problems with their flights and had similar horrible encounters with the first United agent who helped us. She even just left in the middle of a conversation with another couple stating over and over again "I cannot help you" leaving them nowhere to go. Our flight was uneventful and the flight attendants were fine. The problem again arose when we landed. We landed earlier than anticipated, but couldn't be deplaned because apparently there were no workers to push the jet bridge out. So we waited on the tarmac for well over 20 minutes. And then longer once we were at the gate. Even the pilot got a little snippy giving us the updates. When we finally deplaned, we had less than 25 minutes to get to our next flight which involved taking a bus to a different terminal. By some miracle, we barely made it to our next flight and made it home. But this will be the reason I will avoid United as much as I possibly can. Two stars ONLY because the flights and flight attendants were fine.

I don't say they are dangerous. In fact they are a lot safer than most airlines. The reason is that it's hard to get on to their flight, after you've paid for their ticket. So half the time you don't even get to fly. Staying on the ground is a lot safer than flying. We bought tickets in August, for a flight in December. Due to the huge lineups, there was just a little bit over 80 minutes left when we got to the counter. It was a domestic Mexican flight, and we were already checked in the day before. All we needed was to get our luggage to the flight which was entirely possible to do. Aeromexico said that they couldn't do it, and that we needed to buy new tickets. The new tickets would be twice as expensive as the originals. But, they threatened, if we didn't buy the new tickets they would cancel our return flight as well. So under duress we bought the new tickets. Amazingly, with the new tickets, they were able to get our luggage to the flight in half the time, just 40 minutes before the flight. I guess the speed of luggage movement depends on how much money you give these bastards. but guess what? They did cancel the return flight too. They said we needed to buy a third set of tickets to get the return flight!!!! Obviously we used a different airline for that. Aeromexico is never going to get my business again. I have done the Canadian Transportation Agency for flair with successful outcome, dm me on…read moreinstagram if you need help!! I've used in Dec 2022 and more recently April 2026. In Dec 2022, I was very lucky to board the F8500 YFK TO YVR and F81501 from YVF to YFK(Waterloo airport). With a ski bag, boot bag and personal bag Lucky is an understatement, I was grounded for a week along with many other flights and fortunately YVR airport stepped in to compensate hotels, meals and transit because Flair Airlines was not providing any compensation or accommodation. In this same flight, I took on a ski bag that was only used for one other trip and a boot bag. I even stored my helmet in my boot bag padded with towel. My ski bag was ripped and my boot bag was also damaged, along with the helmet being crushed. There was a big dent. After 3 years I did get a resolution with Canadian Transport Agency for my ski baggage refunded, the compensation for a new ski bag and compensation for a new helmet. I didn't both with the boot bag- it was old. In this experience I found severe inconsistencies with handling ski bag and boot bag. Flair YFK expected me to duct tape the boot bag with the ski bag. And truly before leaving I did try to get clarification as some standard ski bags only have room for skis and poles. While at YVR. they did a quick test on the skis (not sure what) and away I go in the oversized section. So after being stranded for a week with excessive wait for Flair to go on repeat cancel flight then reschedule a week later I took a break from Flair. In April 2026.i took it to YFK TO YYC and YYC TO YYZ with a ski bag and a personal bag , I decided to give it another try, one thing is that going from YFK would save me the transfer time to Toronto Pearson airport. This time at YFK I wasn't asked to duct tape my boot and ski bag INTERESTING! So this time, I took a roller style where I placed two boots and one ski in one bag and a second bag to carry another set of skis. In the bag, I carried another ski bag for the boot just in case I got separated from my travel companion. It was easy breezy but the personal bag size limits POST flair bag sizing scandal was a bit sketch and heavily enforced. So much that they are tagging carry on and personal bags. On the return from YYC to YYZ, I watched another patron with a ski bag and a standard boot bag (side hang mount with space for helmet, snow pants and snow layers), have his content ripped apart. Understand that if you are skiing, you will also be carrying long johns, extra layers, ski jacket (built with arm ventilation and snow skirt), snow pants (with vents potentially) and a person may have a conventional jacket depending time of year. While I didn't have issues, there is a severe inconsistency and I dunno if he just had a hard time because the patron was not familiar that you can't fit boots in some ski bag configurations. And while the website doesn't specifically say restrictions for ski related clothing- there shouldn't be much of a restriction. I should mention snowboarders have but pads, elbow pads, knee pads- and some pants are built in with the ppe. My travel companion got dinged for $100 just carrying a standard puma bag- usually around 6kg with a Mac book and some light clothes. IF HE DIDNT PAY THE $100 he would not be allowed to board the flight is what he shared with me. The competitor Air Canada was running flights around mid-$500 to $600 and with my branded credit card I get two checked bags. So $420 vs $600. I'm not sure it's extremely worth the hassle with the additional fear of being surcharged. Overall in 2026 the difference with handling is that flair offers a $60 credit if they are delayed up to one hour. YFK to YYC I found my wait time 50min, not enough to get a credit. I also found that each reservation was made separately and this resulted in randomized seating-some children separated from their kid. I also noticed a credit card charge applied on reservation- so debit saves you- but then you can't use the benefits for flight delays and travel interruption. The change fee was $190 for me to change my return fromYFK to YYZ, because change was within 7 days. Overall lots of anxiety travelling with strict personal bags. You sort of have to make sure your destination has washing ability because you're packing lighter. Overall travelling with a ski bag with boot bag or all in one roller is possible but I have overall anxiety. I certainly don't argue that my flight with ski gear was around $300 per person and I added a $190 change. If I used Air Canada, I would be charged similar unless it was a point redemption then I have 24-48 hours to refund the points and taxes. I should note that the flair website restricts one set of boot and ski per passenger while paying for checked baggage with air canada you can fill it with as much skis- so I usually throw all the skis in a standard roller and boots in a hard case luggage.

This is a very expensive "budget" airline. My Flair ticket was 2.5 times the cost of AirCanada and…read moreAir Canada allows for free checked-in baggage and FREE alcohol. Flair is very strict about baggage size. They charge for carry-on items and do not provide any water or snacks on the flight. No entertainment. Boarding the flight takes a long time because they need to tag every item as personal or carry-on to make sure that they can maximize the amount of money they squeeze from the common folk. Avoid Flair if you can.
