While we booked our own cellar tours, Stephane helped us optimize the itinerary, recommending the best route, timing, and stops to make the most of the day. One of his best suggestions was to visit one cellar in Reims and the other in Épernay rather than staying in a single town. This allowed us to enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque vineyards, visit the iconic Avenue de Champagne, and stop in Hautvillers, the charming village of Dom Pérignon, where we took in stunning views over the Marne Valley and the surrounding vineyards. Those thoughtful recommendations turned an already exciting day into an unforgettable experience. Stephane also recommended several lunch stop options, including Le Bellevue Restaurant & Bar inside the Royal Champagne Hotel in Champillon (which is the one we selected). It was the perfect choice, with exceptional food and sweeping views over the Champagne vineyards--one of the most memorable meals of our trip. The little touches he added before and during our trip made all the difference. He greeted us with fresh croissants to start the day, and after one of our cellar tours, he surprised us with delicious bakery treats for an afternoon pick-me-up. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel incredibly well taken care of from start to finish. We were so impressed with Stephane's service that both my friend and I immediately booked him again for our airport departures. His local knowledge, professionalism, reliability, and warmth truly set him apart. If you're looking for an outstanding private driver in Paris or the Champagne region, I can't recommend Stephane, or one of his colleagues, highly enough. He played a huge role in making our trip so special. (As a note, I had Mr. Do for my airport drop off because Stephane was already booked for my friend who had to leave earlier than me for the airport. Both of us appreciated the extra guidance both drivers provided to take us into the departure terminal, guide us to the self-service VAT (Value Added Tax) refund kiosks to get us on our way!)

There are signs easily pointing you in the right direction to where you need to go and there is a train station really close to the airport, which is a huge thing for me. There are plenty of food and drink options in the airport as well so you should be able to find something to grab while waiting for a flight. All in all, I've been to this airport a few times and its always a smooth transit.

You fly in, go through customs, get on the train, have a short trip, and you're at Disneyland Paris. But the reality is it's hard to find the train because there's no signage that lists TGV, just signs with a picture of a train, so we walked toward it hoping it was the correct area. The trains themselves also lack signage. So we got on a TGV train at the correct time, in the correct place, thinking it was our train. But we had tickets for a car that wasn't there, so in the end our first class tickets were useless and we sat next to the bathroom. There was no announcement in English so we used Google Maps to confirm we were in fact, in the correct spot, but for a bit we were worried we'd gotten on a random train and had no idea where we were going because there are 0 attendants in the cars to ask. In the train cars the aisles are small and tend to be cramped because a lot of people have luggage that blocks the walkways, so generally the navigating experience simply wasn't pleasant when compared to a bullet train like in Japan. All in all, we don't plan to go back to Disneyland Paris because the transit to the park was so difficult - I generally find Ubers easier (and in this case cheaper) to use - so overall I recommend hiring a private car to take you to and from Disneyland Paris and foregoing the TGV train.

Terminal 2F plays its part well among this total operation of dysfunction. CDG has to be one of the top 10 most ridiculously designed airports in the world. It is pretty much everything that a busy, high volume international hub airport should not be and if I were a descendant of Charles de Gaulle, I would petition for it to be named after someone else's family member. The first issue is that it tries to do way too much with much too little in terms of space and resources. I have flown millions of miles in my lifetime. I have never had a flight go into CDG that was not delayed at its origin in some fashion because of the air traffic congestion on the CDG end that causes it to be held on the ground before take off. What that results in is a late landing at CDG and forces a very tight connection if Paris is not your ultimate destination. This pressure on the traveler stressed to make a connection is the norm, not the exception here. That seems unacceptable in this modern day of travel. Second, once you land, trying to make the connection to another terminal is a long adventure. I mean that in the worst way possible. Keeping the nomenclature of the terminal you are trying to get to straight is difficult and the signage is less than clear in areas (I think they hired a cognitively impaired consultant to come up with the confusing terminal naming construct...Terminals 1-3 with Terminal 2 having separate areas labelled A-F) and none of them connecting without at least a 20 min walk. If you are really unlucky, your walk might be up to 45 min while navigating international connection security checkpoints. This also seems unacceptable by today's standards. Finally, the 1970's glass and steel design of the terminals is visually cool because of all the glass but only serves to amplify the fact that there is an insufficient AC system in play. The greenhouse heat ad humidity effect is real and you simply feel like an ant baking under a magnifying glass as you make the sweltering run to some far away connection terminal under duress. I'm sure the designer of this won some avant-garde award for it in their day. What they really needed was to be put out of our misery by a firing squad for such a dysfunctional greenhouse design. I don't think any of this can really be corrected with a remodel and I think it is as good as it is going to get given the space and existing buildings that they have to work with. Unless they tear it down and start over from the beginning, Paris CDG will remain a one of the worst large airports in the world.
