They have direct flights to Dublin, which means many major world cities are just one connection away from here, including my home airport, MSP. And considering how many interesting holiday destinations are directly connected here (Greek islands, Canary Islands, numerous beachy parts of Spain, decidedly non-beachy parts of Finland, etc etc), I imagine that people in the SW of England must be pretty pleased as well. Curiously no flights to London, though, as of May 2024. This is the smallest airport I've been to! I'm used to big-city airports so I'm childishly charmed by its small footprint, its adjacent cow pastures, and even the little prop planes parked on the grass. You would think the smaller scale would result in shorter waits at security, but no. Everyone, including flight crews, waits in line for a single person to scrutinize everyone for several minutes. I was in security for thirty minutes on a Friday morning. There are a couple of convenience stores, some comfortable lounge areas, and an actual Executive Lounge with drinks, baked goods, a latte machine, and other snacks. I'm not sure many people would think it was worth paying outright for entry to the Executive Lounge, since the publicly available seating is pleasant enough, but I was glad I was able to get in by flashing my Priority Pass card. My least favorite thing is that they charge you even to drop someone off or pick them up! My dad just wanted to drop me off at the terminal and had to pay five pounds. I think many people just tolerate walking in from the road. I think it's mean to put us in that position. The staff I dealt with were very kind! I had a question about routing my luggage, and several people were summoned to weigh in and ensure that my needs were met. Mostly I'm just glad that, as someone who needs to get to this area from the US, I have this option available.

It is a lovely way to enter the town. The station is small but it has everything you need, a ticket machine, ticket office with lots of information leaflets, toilets, cycle storage and a great little cafe. I can recommend the bacon baps and a hot mug of tea. When you leave the station there is a taxi rank at the front and the bus station is just across the road. If you don't have too much luggage you can easily walk to the central hotels and B & B's. If you have just come for the day the beach is less than 5 minutes away.

The staff in charge of refreshments where so nice and informative about delays if any, and one obviously impatient man~who for some reason swore & stomped off! Don't know why! There was a couple of people waiting but we were all quite happy chatting away to each other and if he had waited he would've been next! HE was the only thing wrong with the journey & HE was the only one who was at fault! The young girl behind the counter was very efficient and polite. On the return journey the staff with the refreshments ~ where so friendly and funny. These staff both at Paignton station & on the trains are an asset to your name~ well done guys! The train and the station where both clean & well kept~ a little old maybe but that just adds to the quaint charm it has. Unfortunately my partner lost his phone either on the return journey or in the taxi we had outside to go back to Brixham. It is only a one touch mobile not worth a great deal but as you know, all contacts and information is kept on it and he is quite lost without it! The…read morestaff are really friendly and helpful, they are knowledgeable of the resorts and the countries, but do explain about the areas. The store also deals with local departures such as Exeter, so you can fly near to be locally than have to travel to Gatwick or Heathrow. The store deals with all the major tour operators, so there are plently of choices available, I would recommend this travel agents to anyone, the whole experience feels like your visiting friends.

This tourist information centre is one of the most friendliest and helpful tourist centres I have…read moreused. The TIC is right by the stream that runs through the middle of Dawlish (very quaint). The TIC has full information on holiday accomodation in the area, be that the holiday camps, bed and breakfast even to camping. The TIC is also a booking agency for the nearby theatre as well as the theatre in Torquay. The TIC also sells the week long car park pass, which was a definate money saver. They are very knowledgeable about the area, and places to visit. I would highly recommend this TIC.

Great Staff who are always friendly and they know me well and say hello to me when I go on a…read morewednesday to get our local free paper for the people in the flats where I live :) You can book theatre tickets through them and dont have to pay a booking fee so its worth going if you have a show in mind that you want to see :) 10/10 always tidy when I go in and things are easy to find,if not I will ask a staff member and they will help me with a smile :)

Good for him then…read more This is a lovely old Cliff Railway in Torquay, one of my fave seaside towns in all of England, with an amazing station cafe with great food at the nearby Torquay rail station. This little old steep grade slow speed train will take you up and down the cliffs and it's one of the highlights of this lovely little South Devon region. It's a beautiful part of the country and it's a beautiful sight and ride to come and enjoy. It connects the beach with the downs and is not really a train in the traditional sense, but a funicular railway. It's also now a charity owned thing rather than council owned.

I wanted to take a Torre of this railway station so I came along and self-guided myself around…read more It's a little Suburban Railway Station close to Torquay and Torbay, and you can find it in the spectacular and touristy coastal region of the Southeastern portion of the county. It's close to the final station which is Torquay on this line, a place where the station cafe makes great food, and is right on Newton Road which is the road that goes to Newton Abbot. There are some Suburban stores right next to it, and it's old and pretty and features a really lovely tower at the entrance. The tower is reminiscent of something totally different from somewhere totally different.
