I was confused at a pain center referral as I thought this was a relatively straightforward procedure but have since learned why this was the correct path. I was also confused at the need to schedule a consult first as I was very much afraid that this would delay treatment as pain was increasing and greatly impacted my ability to sleep or even sit down for a meal. As it turns out, this is pretty much a legal requirement for pain center treatments. Lots of online releases and other forms but they did not take a long time to complete. The spine center referral was on a Friday afternoon and I painfully waited until Monday morning to schedule the first appointment. I was greatly relieved that, as long as I was flexible on locations, could be seen Wednesday at their Frisco location (in the Baylor building next to the Star Center.) That went very well with Dr. A and I met with the scheduler for the next challenge; the procedure itself! As it turns out, I was scheduled for the next morning!!!!! So, at their Plano location, and, after a couple more forms and verification that I did indeed have a driver due to anesthesia, I was out of the office an hour later. No immediate pain relief but the general expectation is 1-3 days. Well, no. I took my victory nap after getting home and, surprisingly, was able to sit up out of bed for the first time in 4 weeks (YMMV)! Still painful but 50% reduced from that very painful morning. Ending up taking a long walk and things got even better. As I write this, I'd say pain is down 80% and I expect my best sleep in ages tonight. Many thanks to Dr A and his group.

There were no other customers inside the building and yet it took them over two hours to come in and see the one patient who was there. We finally left While all of the doctors and nurses were setting up front joking at the front desk. I walked up and asked if they were running behind and they said no. On first appointment I made it clear that I had previous back surgery and wanted that as a last resort. Physical Therapy and managed pain first. It was immediately suggested that I have spinal injections and/or surgery. I explained the injections did not really work for me in the past and again requested PT which I did eventually get. On the first visit to Dr.Patel's I explained to the assistant that I had one month worth of pain meds from my primary care physician but would soon be out and should be reordered because I use mail order and it would take more time. This is a simple phone call. That did not happen but I have had two appointments and a MRI and have yet to see Dr. Patel. They gave my name and number to a Dr's office that called to discuss back surgery with me. I had no idea who they were. When I have made them aware 3 times that it has been over a month and I stil l have no pain meds, (which by the way is Tramadol and none of the hard opiates at my request because I am 75 years old) they persist that I need to come in before I can get medication. Every time I go there is a large copay and I do not have money for that. The MRI was over 200.00 and PT is 25.00 per visit twice weekly. I was warned about this place and did not listen. I didn't think my doctor would refer me to a place that was not reputable. BUYER BEWARE!

After the results came in, I noticed they didn't look at the X-rays or MRI; they relied on someone else's diagnosis. I asked them if they didn't need to see the X-rays and the MRI, which I had copies of since I'd paid for them. They said, "No need, the written diagnosis was enough, which amazes me since any other time I have consulted, and an X-Ray or MRI was needed, the physician worked with me and showed me the images. According to what they read in the X-Ray and MRI diagnostic, they recommended an injection for my sciatica pain. Before the procedure, I was handling my pain and had it under control between 4 and 6, which enabled me to keep working until the injection date. I went to the place to get the injection procedure. The physician (Dr. Patel) never met me or told me what would happen. I was led to the injection room, where I saw two men sitting and browsing their phones. One of them was probably Patel, but he never presented himself as the physician in charge. All my interactions were with the nurse practitioners. I was put face down on a bed table, and someone, without any explanation or anesthetic, inserted the needle in my spine. The pain went all across my spine and right leg. They said that was normal. I thought they would use an anesthetic. My pain is now constantly at 10 since the injection ten days ago. I can't stay seated, or walk, or even lie down in bed without the pain. I had to call them and make another appointment, and another copay. I asked them for pain medication, and they denied it and said I need to make another appointment, and maybe they will prescribe it. I asked to speak with a manager or someone with the authority to make changes. They threatened to call the police and kick me out. This place exists only to milk the Medicare and Medicaid systems. I will never return to this place.

He truly takes his time with his patients and never makes you feel rushed. He listens carefully, really tries to understand what you're feeling, and goes above and beyond to help fix the problem instead of just masking it. What stands out most is that he takes the time to get to know you on a personal level. You can tell he genuinely cares, and that kind of bedside manner is rare these days. Everyone in the office is very kind and professional in person. The environment is welcoming, and when you're there face to face, the experience is great. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is communication. It is incredibly difficult to get a hold of someone at the office. Whether it's for scheduling, a prescription refill, or just trying to ask a question, it can be very frustrating. My brother and I both go to this office, and we've both experienced the same issue when trying to speak with someone. Getting a response can take much longer than it should, which adds unnecessary stress when you're already dealing with pain. Despite that frustration, I still wouldn't want to see any other doctor besides Dr. LeDoux. His level of care and dedication outweighs the communication challenges, and that says a lot.
