He truly takes his time with his patients and never makes you feel rushed. He listens carefully, really tries to understand what you're feeling, and goes above and beyond to help fix the problem instead of just masking it. What stands out most is that he takes the time to get to know you on a personal level. You can tell he genuinely cares, and that kind of bedside manner is rare these days. Everyone in the office is very kind and professional in person. The environment is welcoming, and when you're there face to face, the experience is great. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is communication. It is incredibly difficult to get a hold of someone at the office. Whether it's for scheduling, a prescription refill, or just trying to ask a question, it can be very frustrating. My brother and I both go to this office, and we've both experienced the same issue when trying to speak with someone. Getting a response can take much longer than it should, which adds unnecessary stress when you're already dealing with pain. Despite that frustration, I still wouldn't want to see any other doctor besides Dr. LeDoux. His level of care and dedication outweighs the communication challenges, and that says a lot. I was confused at a pain center referral as I thought this was a relatively straightforward procedure but have since learned why this was the correct path. I was also confused at the need to schedule a consult first as I was very much afraid that this would delay treatment as pain was increasing and greatly impacted my ability to sleep or even sit down for a meal. As it turns out, this is pretty much a legal requirement for pain center treatments. Lots of online releases and other forms but they did not take a long time to complete. The spine center referral was on a Friday afternoon and I painfully waited until Monday morning to schedule the first appointment. I was greatly relieved that, as long as I was flexible on locations, could be seen Wednesday at their Frisco location (in the Baylor building next to the Star Center.) That went very well with Dr. A and I met with the scheduler for the next challenge; the procedure itself! As it turns out, I was scheduled for the next morning!!!!! So, at their Plano location, and, after a couple more forms and verification that I did indeed have a driver due to anesthesia, I was out of the office an hour later. No immediate pain relief but the general expectation is 1-3 days. Well, no. I took my victory nap after getting home and, surprisingly, was able to sit up out of bed for the first time in 4 weeks (YMMV)! Still painful but 50% reduced from that very painful morning. Ending up taking a long walk and things got even better. As I write this, I'd say pain is down 80% and I expect my best sleep in ages tonight. Many thanks to Dr A and his group.

I am absolutely amazed at the immediate and profound difference it has made. Apparently I have had stiffness, tightness, perhaps a creak here and there, but I had grown used to it as was hardly noticeable. Although esketamine is FDA approved, I was told that IV treatment would be better for me. Esketamine is FDA-approved, but it's difficult to access in Dallas. Unless you're still working and have employer-subsidized insurance, it's still very expensive. Haven't found a Medicare-based plan from any insurance company that will cover it, so if you're retired or disabled, trying to live on a fixed income, you're pretty much out of luck. Am learning that as we age, if we're not fortunate enough to have had everything go "right" in our lives, we might now be expendable. Both nasal and IV treatment prohibit driving after treatment, so people who don't have family or friends to help have the added expense of transportation. If TKS was further away from me, I couldn't have done it, and I live in NE Dallas. Paying 100% out of pocket for treatment makes it inaccessible for so many of us. I wonder how many suicides happen when people finally give up after years of taking antidepressants that don't work or have unacceptable side effects, who have had ECT or TMS, all with no symptom improvement. Kept thinking that FDA approval would be forthcoming soon and make treatment less costly, so tried hard to keep going. Spent countless hours researching, making calls, nothing. Finally called the FDA in September and very nice PERSON provided ph #s to two pharmaceutical companies with pending requests. Both companies said their requests didn't include treatment of depression, but wouldn't explain. Did more digging and found that because pharmaceutical companies can't make it profitable, it's no longer even on the table. Doesn't look like it will happen any time soon, if at all. Cried for a few days then started selling stuff and was able to pay for initial series of treatment. Thank you, God! Due to strong faith beliefs, have never been suicidal, so didn't get an immediate "boost." Life-issues that worsen depression haven't been resolved, and meds don't solve everything. BUT anxiety decreased right away and after initial series, debilitating depression seems to be lifting after 25 yrs. I can feel a difference and to stabilize, even incrementally, would be life-changing. Must now take radical steps and sacrifice some basic needs to continue treatment. I'll cut way back on everything and trust God to protect me. The payoff - if it happens like I think it will - will make the hardship worth it. If it doesn't, I'll accept that, but God has opened a door! PS - If you decide to do this, create a well-considered playlist and wear headphones. No dance music!
