I have been going to PSC for a couple of months and drive 1 hr 45 mins to get there. Last week I…read morearrived for my appointment about 5 mins early as they have a sign up that if you are 19 mins late you must reschedule. I was told they would be right with me. Then I was told I would have to reschedule because the person who had the key to the supply closet was on vacation. I asked if they could call a locksmith as I had driven so far to get there. I was told no they couldn't. And that I needed to reschedule. Near tears because I had driven so far I said i was not going to reschedule. I left and 5 mins later they called to say they found the key and I could come back in 2 hours. I asked could I just come now because no patients were there but they said no. So I agreed to come back in 2 hours. in about 5 more minutes I got another call saying I would have to reschedule because the person who verified insurance had not done it yet and had taken the day off. After posting on their website I was contacted by someone who said they were sorry this happened... but I could reschedule. I explained I was on Social Security. I don't have money to drive back and forth over 100 miles each way. When I asked if they could reimburse me and then I could reschedule she said she didn't know. I haven't heard back from them.

I haven't always been pleased with this office because in the past the staff were quite rude and treated the patients as addicts. They have made some recent changes and the staff are so nice now! I really like that the staff and Paige and Dr Harper explain things!

I was scheduled expecting to see the orthopedic surgeon, but my appointment was changed to a…read morephysician assistant without prior notice, and I did not see the surgeon. After reviewing my medical record, I noted documentation stating that "her symptoms seem to be out of proportion to her complaints and presentation" and that I was "agreeable" to the plan of care. This characterization was not communicated to me during the appointment and does not reflect my experience of the visit. I expressed concerns about my symptoms and pain and was in visible discomfort, and I did not provide agreement beyond acknowledging the information presented. As a patient, I left feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that I was not fully cared for. I expected clearer communication, accurate documentation, and greater transparency from a spine center.

Dr Gatson is the sweetest, most compassionate and knowledgeable physician I have ever used, and she…read morehas been my primary physician for over a decade. I can't ever remember a time when she was out of the office, even though it is expected on occasion as she is human. What I like most about Dr Gatson is how she sits down and truly listens, even though she may be typing on her laptop during our conversation. I understand that. Otherwise, she may forget some of the details of our conversation. She is a great diagnostician, but never fails to refer you out to a specialist if necessary. The medications she has prescribed to me seem on point. I've never had ANY complaints against this physician. EVER. I wouldn't hesitate to refer any of my family and friends to Dr Gatson. As far as I am concerned, she ranks as one of the very best. Oh... I almost forgot to add... this may be important to those who only have a limited time to see the doctor. You might have somewhat of a long wait to get called back to an exam room. And then another wait in the exam room. This wait does not bother me, as I know she is only spending one on one time with her other patients and to me, that is what it's all about. Because then I know I'm going to get that same thorough attention. I always clear my morning or afternoon when I have an appointment with Dr April Gatson. And lastly, but certainly not least, her nurse, Daisy, is sweet and takes good care of me. So if you are looking for a thorough, compassionate, accommodating, attentive and delightful family physician, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr April Gatson.
