I worked at this studio for over a year, and my experience was extremely disappointing. Communication from management started out fair but quickly declined, eventually ceasing entirely. This created a tense, uncomfortable, and unprofessional work environment. The culture was toxic. I raised multiple concerns about inappropriate behavior from another employee -- including subtle sexual remarks and boundary-crossing comments -- and these concerns were repeatedly ignored. Staff comfort and professionalism were clearly not priorities. Favoritism and unequal work distribution were rampant, creating division among artists and apprentices. Another major concern was the owner's business practices. Sessions were consistently priced at $2,000, which is unusually high compared to industry standards. He often had clients arrive extremely early, around 10 a.m., only to spend hours stenciling or performing minimal work, keeping them until late at night (9pm-12am.....or later like 2-4am) while taking multiple breaks, walking around, and making unrelated calls. He also used self-righteousness and "trust-building" language to encourage clients to pay, and multiple clients -- including at least one pursuing legal action -- have claimed to be ignored after paying large deposits without receiving services. I also witnessed unsafe and unprofessional behavior. The owner used a THC vape during client sessions and even fell from his chair one evening. The studio itself was poorly maintained: the concrete floor was never sealed, and dust was a constant issue, posing real hygiene risks that were never addressed during my time there. Overall, this was an unhealthy, unethical, and unsafe work environment. Anyone considering employment or booking a session should proceed with caution. read more

This shop is kept very clean but has a homey feel so you can relax while getting your ink. I received a tattoo from Hip and he was professional while still being friendly. All the staff and other artists are extremely nice. Hip was able to answer any questions I had and was patient when modifying the placement of one of my tattoos when I asked. I felt more like I was in a high end salon and I was pleasantly surprised when I was offered refreshments including a snack when I told him I had not eaten before I arrived. I passed the location on the way and when I called they answered right away and were helpful about directing me to where I needed to go. There is plenty of parking behind the building which is nice because it is a pretty popular location with the surrounding shops. Overall it was an easy, relaxing experience and anything they could think of to anticipate their clients needs has been provided. I really recommend this place! read more

I tried to leave a review months ago but this business didn't have a yelp page yet. I came in after seeing a bunch of posts about a grand opening and this being an "elite" studio. I was told my idea was basically stupid (not in those words but that if I wanted my tattoo done there I'd have to let them completely change it) and that it would cost almost a thousand dollars for something the size of my hand. I left feeling put down and it was one of the worst experiences I would never had expected at a local business that had so much hype. It's not really about the money because I understand that you get what you pay for and I've been tattooed at other bigger studios in the area so I expect to pay a decent amount but it genuinely seemed like I was being ripped off and forced to get something I didn't really want. read more

I'm not a tattoo novice-- I've had my fair share of experiences in a variety of shops with different artists. I went to Aisle 9 as a fan of Matt CLemmer's work because I knew any artist in his shop was there for a reason: they were excellent. I was expecting that at a shop with high caliber artists would come some diva like attitude. Nothing could have been further from the truth at Aisle 9. I really enjoyed the expertise and laid back friendliness. I went in with an idea and with his fine art expertise, Zach was able to make it even better than I originally envisioned. I can't say enough about how positive my experience was. Thanks Zach for my lovely flower--you are seriously gifted. And thanks to Matt for having a great shop! Aisle 9 tattoo is truly a gem. I've been tattooed by Matt Clemmer several times now, and while each tattoo is a unique work of art that I can always be proud of and that turned out better than I expected, the real selling point for Aisle 9 is their people. Clemmer has assembled the most friendly, down-to-earth, genuine group of artists I've ever encountered. Every artist in the shop is a superstar, but none has an ounce of pretension about them. I never expected meeting such an amazing group of people, not to mention how extraordinarily talented the artists are. I expected a tattoo shop but I feel like I got a world class experience in tattoo artistry. I couldn't be more happy with how my tattoos have come out! Haven't got a tattoo anywhere else since I've found them! Plus Nathaniel Lincoln, Abe Lincoln's cousin, used to own the building there housed in which is super awesome. This place is great! The artists are beyond nice. Everyone is professional and the place is clean and decorated nicely. I felt at home and Beck played a big part in helping me feel relaxed. I met with Beck prior to my appointment and we discussed what I wanted. About 3 weeks lasted I came in for my tattoo. I was there for about 4 - 5 hours. My tattoo looks amazing.
