There have been no consequences or side effects. She is personable and delightful as well. Actually I showed her another issue I was having which she diagnosed immediately and I was able to get care the same day with a professional that treats the issue I was experiencing. On another matter: Her office staff called me twice to make sure I received the result of an mri I had. Dr. Iones followed up to make sure that I was seeing a doctor for an issue that appeared on the mri. I highly recommend Dr. Iones if you need a neurologist as I have been to three others over the years and none compare on any level.

When ENTs can't help and don't know my history of over twenty different allergies, with the worst among them being grass, mold, and certain trees (fireplaces make me very ill) and want to blame it on my less severe allergy to cats and dogs, Dr. Lori has been the only doctor who didn't immediately say give up my pets (my kids), and handled my asthma and multiple allergies with considerable care. He's also the only one who has successfully treated me when I got bronchitis from work on several occasions (fireplace season) on the first treatment. When I saw my regular doctor, I'd be with a chronic sinus infection that could last several months, and they'd want me to keep coming back in multiple times, because they wouldn't give me proper antibiotic type, dosage, duration, or combination of the above. I've rarely had to see him twice for the same thing. When I was younger my allergies to cats were severe when he first met me as a child (I was almost hospitilized with my allergies just petting a neighbor's cat). He helped talk to us about home solutions and things that would help, and found the right allergy medicine (they work differently for different people.) Over the years with slow introductions I've become somewhat desensitized to my cat and dog allergies (not cured, but per bloodwork, significantly better). I went from severe to moderate, and have had multiple cats for over 20 years now. Life would be a depressing and boring place without my kids (cats) and I've been able to help volunteer with rescues and shelters on occasion as well, thanks to Dr. Lori's suggestions and help. He's helped my brother tremendously with his allergies and asthma throught his life as well (he has more allergies than I do.) His need in the allergy field can't be measured. I highly recommend Horizon Medical in Scranton to anyone looking for a logical, compassionate, and dedicated doctor who actually strives to help his patients.

I teach Special Education all day and Tutor Thirteen hours a week. That being said, the only time I am available is during my lunch and planning period, which happen to be back to back today. I am in the process of trying to get Allergy Shots to help with severe allergies and minor breathing problems. These shots need to be administered weekly. Since this office is only open until 4:00 PM, I had to go at lunch. The last allergy shot before their lunch is at 11:30 and the office doesn't reopen until 1:00 PM. (They have a hour and a half for lunch! ). I have a 20 minute drive to get there and I got stuck in traffic on the way there. I literally parked my cAr and ran into the office with ONE minute to spare!! I made it!!(Or so I thought). The window was closed and the blinds were down. (Apparently, an hour and a half isn't long enough for lunch. The nurses needed to leave during office hours.) Since I was there I went to the other window, where I was asked to wait while a receptionist was on the phone. When she came to the window, I asked if I could have my allergy shot and she and another receptioonist said I was too late! They said it was after1130. I mentioned that I arrived before 1130 and they were closed then. She said maybe we are on different ime and I explained that I'm using the I Phone, which tells accurate time. The women then proceeded to give me a sheet with the office hours on it that I already had. She was also extremely rude and disrespectful . She corrected me when I said the last appointment was 1130 and said "We don't have appointments!". I reworded my sentence and stated the last allergy shot is at 1130 and I was there on time. She also mentioned that the nurses needed a doctor present to give shots and said the doctor went to lunch early. I saw MY doctor still working behind them. I was irate and very upset!! All of the rushing around, inconvenience and disrespect literally brought me to tears. Then the receptionist ad the audacity to ask what I did for a living and why I couldn't come back later and I mentioned that I was a teacher who tutors and also explained that most people work past 4:00 PM. This whole situation was extremely inconvenient and the staff was very arrogant and rude!!! I will not go back there!!!!Sadly, I have two doctor s there and I will be finding new ones now I wouldn't recommend this office to an enemy! I truly hope this helps someone else not waste time, money, or unnecessary disrespectful treatment. ;)

If you could go somewhere else, do it…read more I had my baby here recently, a type 2 diabetic, it was an absolute traumatic experience. 8 months later and I am still dealing with mental trauma that they caused. I was induced, couldnt get past 4cm dilated for 3 days, tried the foley balloon TWICE. After the first foley balloon, was so painful, the midwife said word for word to me "if you can't handle this, how do you think you're going to be able to handle birth" I started passing out from the meds and i was hyperventilating in my sleep due to the trauma. Also while I was screaming in pain from the foley balloon she kept demanding me to stop tensing and squeezing but the pain was so unbearable. Don't get me wrong, the nurses in L&D were fantastic, absolute angels. but that midwife should change her career. Anyways, in those 3 days they attempted a foley balloon a 2nd time. Thank god for the epideral that only lasted an hour. When they popped my water it was just as bad as the foley balloon. The OBGYN that time suggested a c section and that she'll talk to the surgeon/doctor. Well... he came in and advised against a c section, he also said that the OBGYN that mentioned the c section to us, didn't mention it to him in that way. Eventually, I requested it anyways. After 3 long days, I also couldn't get out of bed due to preeclampsia. When I requested the C section, the surgeon came in and said "So you're throwing in the towel" making me feel like I was GIVING UP AND DOING SOMETHING WRONG. How terrifying it was. My son was born 2 hours after I requested a C section, by C section. He is also the happiest and healthiest boy. LADIES, trust in yourself, your body and your support system. MOVING ON... I had recently visited the emergency room for the urge to throw up was unbearable, sweating, chills, cold sweats. They just gave me IV fluids, and ANTIPSYCHOTIC for the nausea and sent me on my way. I WENT BACK 5x in a week and a half for the same symptoms. And all 5x they did the same thing. Iv fluids, and antipsychotic and sent me on my way. Come to find out, I had H. Pylori bacterial infection in my stomach the entire time. It wasn't until I called a doctor elsewhere and asked for help. That doctor I saw elsewhere saw I had H.Pylori 2 years ago and instantly sent me for a test. I had lost 26 lbs in 5 days. The ER knew that. One of the 5 visits, I knew I had H.Pylori, it was in my MYCHART, I told them I was diagnosed with it but the symptoms were unbearable for I had been waiting days to figure out what's wrong due to their lack of actually trying to figure it out. They told me that H.Pylori is usually an outpatient problem With a prescriber. I'm sorry, what? And again, IV fluids, but this time a pill(my reason for coming in was i threw up my antibiotics). The doctor prescribed me an anti nausea medication that has to be accepted by my insurance, it's been 4 days since that visit and the doctor I saw in the Emergency Room still hasn't responded to the insurance message or whatever. Thankfully, after that 5th visit I haven't had to go back and I've been able to keep the antibiotics down. Ps; when this happened 2 years ago, it was the same scenario. No tests, just an IV fluid and antibiotic and sent me. Wasn't until I reached out to an actual doctor to figure it out. I pray I don't ever have to bring my son here for anything. I couldn't bare to see him go through something like this with people who are supposed to help you.

The only competent people working here has been the surgery team and maybe three nurses. Special shout out to Guadalupe for her less than horrible bed side manner. This "nurse" watched my alarm go off several times, snickered and stared walking past my door, and then made a real ass out of herself saying something to another nurse who openly said how much she did not like her previous patient. That's me, I'm that patient. Let's talk about the environment. I arrived at the ER yesterday at 10 AM. Everything was going relatively quick and I was placed in the hallway. I spent the my time listening to a man scream for help in the room that was next to me, where the nurses waited for me to beg for them to shut his door or to please move me, was put on display for everyone to hear my business and glare as they walked by, and waited around for medication to be issued that was ordered at 10am and not received until 4:30pm. It took over three hours to get an ultrasound... in what world? No other progression, just waiting for an ultrasound, sitting in the hallway where HIPAA apparently doesn't exist. When they finally decided to admit me for surgery is when I was giving anything for the severe panic attacks I was having for the full duration. THAT'S 6 HOURS LATER. THESE ARE THINGS THAT ARE ON MY CHART AND PRESCRIBE TO ME. The lack of communication and misinformation spread here is obscene. If it's a staffing issue, fix it. Maybe lack of training in this type of environment? All I know is that I'm extremely disappointed in the experience and will choose Wilkes Barre General for future visits.

It was mere coincidence that Dr. Raab is also part of the CNSO medical team! This connection affirmed that CNSO was indeed the correct practice for me. For cases such as mine, the CNSO surgical team includes surgeons from both spinal disciplines: Orthopedic Spine Surgeon AND a Spinal Neurosurgeon. This combination was super-important to me and actually one of the main reasons that I went with CNSO. I met with Dr. Raab and I immediately liked him. He is very calm, warm, and articulate. He further clarified and explained the issues/situation around the progressive, painful deformity in my spine (Scheuermann's disease) that I had lived with for years. He appreciated my questions and my understanding, which he also further impressed upon me, of the seriousness and the recovery challenges associated spinal surgery. In January, Dr. Harris and Dr. Raab performed a 13-vertebrae (T2-L2) spinal fusion on my spine. The results are absolutely incredible and I couldn't be more pleased (no more pain & no more ugly thoracic hump)!! I highly recommend Dr. Raab for anyone in need of a Neurosurgeon.

Elaine hardy, MS, RN, APN, C; is not just an amazing medical professional, she is one of those caring and intuitive physicians from a bygone era. It used to be when you walked into a doctor's office, they had more than HMO training, more than just the ability to follow HMO rules and regulations, there used to be doctors who actually had knowledge and were intuitive about your body and condition. You will find this once again Elaine. Over eight years ago, after having gone to a myriad of doctors and specialist, all of which were baffled by my condition, it was Elaine who was finally able to pin-point my issues and begin to help me work through them. By the time I had reached her, I was in fairly bad shape, unable to walk on my own and had a lump in my breast, most doctors were penciling in the death certificate but Elaine took a far more positive approach. She worked with my family to help us develop a treatment protocol which centered around my desire to stay as holistic as possible. She was sensitive to my desire to treat the cancer holistically and supported my decision, even though at times, I knew she was concerned. Elaine did not lecture me or try to force me into anything I was not comfortable in doing. Instead, she would lay out the options to my family and allowed us to make the decision that best suited my body. Elaine then supported us throughout our chosen treatment protocol. I still have clean cancer numbers 4 1/2 years after having a 3 1/2 pound, triple-negative tumor removed in a mastectomy. When most doctors didn't think I'd make it off the surgery table, Elaine stayed supportive of our family. In the end, I survived the cancer. I am still dealing with the severe neurological disease that put me in a wheelchair as a paraplegic but even in what seems like a dead-end condition, we are seeing small steps forward. Elaine worked with all my illnesses from the beginning, helping me to find ways to deal with the pain, looking for new treatment methods when the old ones weren't working and giving me hope for the future. She never gives up on you, she just keeps on working to find the answers. Her knowledge is amazing and she is willing to think 'outside the box' in trying to find the root cause of your issues instead of treating symptoms, something that is difficult to find in the medial field these days. She looks for the layers that so often are involved in illness instead of a short-cut version that usually keeps one feeling...just good enough, instead of great! After seeing literally dozens of specialist, I have never met another medical professional that I hold in as high of esteem as I do Elaine. No matter where we are in the country, we find our way back to Elaine. It is because of her knowledge and support in helping us deal and work through both the cancer and the neurological issues that I am here to write this recommendation right now. If you are seeking a qualified and caring Holistic Professional, look no further. You will not be disappointed in Elaine Hardy.
