First, let me say this place was amazingly clean, and even had refreshments in waiting area. The young lady at the counter was friendly and professional. You hand them your ID and health insurance card... and the rest is done on your phone.. so easy!!! I don't feel the wait was very long, especially for a weekend at an urgent care. I was seen rather quickly and my entire visit, including X-rays, results, medications and paperwork was just over an hour. I think I take longer at my regular doctor sometimes!!! Everyone was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The doctor explained everything to me, they gave me some shots to get thru the day... and I think this was an amazing experience! Unfortunately, 2 days after visiting, my experience left me frustrated and scratching my head. My main complaint is I was prescribed fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Cipro) for a sting ray sting, without any mention about the well documented risks associated with lasting tendon rupture and collagen matrix disruption. It was only once I'd done my research that I had to call to see if we can switch. One of the PA's (Paula, also exceptional) took my call and even said she was glad that I caught that and did not understand why I was prescribed Cipro when there are much safer alternatives out there. When I had gone in, I was also given a steroid shot to help with inflammation and left in the room for some time. I started to get quite nauseous and felt close to fainting. I had to step outside and call for someone, just to be told "yeah this happens often, forgot to warn you" and "you beat me to checking in on you." What's worse is I came to find out combining fluoroquinolones with corticosteroids (steroid shots) have been documented to a FOURTEEN (14!) FOLD increased risk of tendinopathy and tendon rupture (D. Baggio, M.R. Andana-Rajah, 2021). Why on earth would you combine a fluoroquinolone and corticosteroids? If there are safer antibiotics, why fluoroquinolone alone? The whole experience just feels medically untrained or professionally careless. I'm completely bewildered, and quite frustrated.

When I asked the doctor she said all she can do was send another referral seemed by me asking I had annoyed her on top of the interrogating visit I had received, after I've been trying to call, contact and fix this on going issue for three months Vanessa saved me from future stress. By the time we arrived, his throat was beginning to swell and he was having difficulty swallowing. Instead of assessing the seriousness of his condition, the front desk receptionist immediately told us they were not accepting any new patients because there were five people ahead of us and the doctor was going on a lunch break. There was no urgency, no attempt to have a medical professional evaluate him, and no concern shown for what could have been a life-threatening emergency. I understand that clinics have schedules and capacity limits, but when someone is experiencing symptoms of a potentially fatal allergic reaction, the appropriate response should never be to simply turn them away without an assessment. Thankfully, we were able to get him to another facility where he received the care he needed. However, I am deeply disturbed by how carelessly this situation was handled. I hope this review encourages the clinic to reevaluate its emergency triage procedures so that another family is not put at risk during a medical emergency.

With all the healthcare fraud and breeches...there was so way I was going to do that. The receptionists at ContinuEM were super nice and got me checked in within 5 mins. Never did they ask me for anything financial other than my copay which was expected. Once I saw the doctor, boy was he thorough. He explained what was going on, what to expect and what I was doing that could make things worse. They gave me a steroid pill right there in the office - no need to go to the pharmacy! And they observed me after I took the pills to make sure I didn't have a reaction. It was actually a good thing that Exer didn't work out!

The security guard, who identified himself as Abram (A-B-R-A- M), disconnected my calls repeatedly-five times in total. After finally getting a response, I was told the item had already been checked for "yesterday," which does not align with my timeline, as I had been there more recently. Given the repeated hang-ups and dismissive behavior, I have serious doubts that any proper effort was made to locate my item. This is especially concerning because this individual is a security guard-someone expected to maintain professionalism, assist patients and visitors, and handle situations responsibly. Instead, I was met with repeated disconnections and a lack of basic courtesy. I am requesting that management review this incident. The calls were made at a specific time, and there should be records available for review. I strongly encourage an internal investigation, including listening to the recorded calls, to understand exactly how this situation was handled. No one should have to call multiple times just to be hung up on while trying to recover a personal belonging. This needs to be addressed.

(By the way, I have worked in the healthcare industry for the past 24 years). Well I just went in on a Sunday morning and for a minor issue and filled out all of their information online (I've been to this location before with no issues) and everything was fine until the receptionist asked me for my credit card information to "keep on file". Listen: I have full health insurance and I'm NOT leaving a credit card on file with all the healthcare fraud! She claimed it was because it's on a "Sunday and their system doesn't work on Sunday". What about people in the community that don't have credit cards, but have health insurance? I told them I'm happy to pay my out of pocket as normal but they said they must have a credit card and handed me a slip of paper with their policy. I left without service. I will definitely be placing a formal complaint. And yes, I have many credit cards but I'll be damned if I leave one "on file" when I have medical insurance. By the way - I went to ContinuEM Urgent care on Palo Verde and South and got excellent service! No credit card needed and the doctor was super professional and thorough.
