Dessert was a chocolate plate (what's not to love, right?) partnering a small dense chocolate ganache cake morsel, decadent chocolate mousse, and a scoop of an absolutely amazing chocolate berry sorbet. Then, they shave black truffles on top. Ummmpphhh. If you like truffle anything, then I highly recommend this dish. The portion is a bit on the small side, but it's perfect because it is rich so you'll be content after and not overly stuffed. Service was very friendly!

A drive into the country took us to a charming village and to the restaurant itself. The owner (Erik?) took care of us and explained the menu in both German and English. The menu is changed quite frequently and is never printed, just chalked up on a board for reference. When asked for recommendations, Erik told me that he works closely with the chef on the menu and that there's nothing on there that they don't both love. After a full dinner there, it's not hard to believe that statement. I started with a sweet potato and lemon soup; while I'm not normally a fan of sweet potatoes, this soup was well balanced between the fullness of the tuber and the sharpness of the lemon, with just a bit of spice (paprika, perhaps?) cutting through it. Pasta served with fresh, white truffles followed the soup and the dish really highlighted the truffles and the wonderfully fresh pasta. A chocolate torte with fresh cream finished the meal. Erik's bar is also excellent. I had a glass of Prosecco blended with white peaches as an apertif, followed by a glass of white wine that the owner recommended, and an excellent espresso.

From the first moment walking into the restaurant to the moment we left the service and attendance to detail was spectacular. Note that this space is very small, there were 5 tables and that made for a super intimate dining experience. The service was impeccable all throughout dinner. The sommelier and server took turns explaining the dishes. The wine pairings were perfect and we both appreciated the detailed explanations of the selections, as well as the bit of humor she brought. Most the wines were local to the region or had a close nexus. We were impressed by the depth of knowledge both the som and server had about the dishes. We are incredibly grateful for them being accommodating to our little guest that had to tag along. We felt right at home in a very high end restaurant, which is a unique experience all together. While the price point is high, it is similar to other Michelin star restaurants and in fact the addition of a wine pairing was very reasonable in comparison. You can add another course (making it 7) for an extra $10. If you choose not to, there are enough extras along the way you won't be hungry when you leave! We each ordered a pizza, me one with artichokes and olives, and him prosciutto and basil. The crusts were crispy and the cheese to sauce ratio was right on target. A perfect little spot to take a break from the Munich crowds and enjoy a pizza.
