A few Indian restaurants in York have been disappointing; usually having way too much salt or just being a bit bland: the Dishes at Parvin were filled with fresh herbs & spices, not too oily or salty. Nothing beats good wholesome food. Finally, when we were so stuffed from eating and couldn't have anymore, we realised there was loads of food left so the staff packaged it all up for us to take home. When you go, ask for "Kahar" - he's the waiter we always use. You won't be disappointed. Family friendly & awesome.

They forgot to bring our green beans but we filled up on the meat and the Bake Salad, with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, parsley, mint, onion, radish, and dressed with sumac, lemon juice, and olive oil. Really nice and fresh, great for making impromptu sandwiches of pita, meat, and crunchy salad. They're BYOB and they deliver, so I'm sure we'll be enjoying their food again soon.

It's very busy and you may have to sit on the long tables with other parties. I usually hate that, but at Al Baik (its original name) it doesn't bother me at all. It's all part of the atmosphere. It's more casual dining than romantic meal, but great for couples, groups of friends, whatever. We usually order a million mezze style plates rather than mains. Yum yum YUM!!

I was really impressed by the food, it was gorgeous, some of the best Indian food I have ever had. All elements including the starter, rice, curry and nan were lovely and my friend was gushing about her meal as well. There is plenty of road parking outside and given that it is so large you would probably get away without booking. Will be going back soon.
