My favourite dish is the moussaka for main course and the cigarette pies to start although we haven't had anything that wasn't lovely.

This was the first place we ate after moving to the neighbourhood, and we've been back three times…read moresince - each time was excellent. Friendly, always a mix of customers and a bit fancy without feeling at all snobby. Every meat dish is top notch, standouts are the lamb chops and the tif tif tandir, but we also had a lovely creamy chicken dish the first time whose name I can't remember. Have not had any cocktails but the raki aniseed liqueur comes with fruit and cheese, which was fun. The dessert figs were not what I expected but were amazing. Finally, absolutely recommend for a birthday, when they bring the cake they drop the lights and play what I assume is a Turkish birthday song (super catchy tune) and in place of a candle is a really intense sparkler. Good stuff.

Attentive servers skillfully handled our large party. My Patlican Ezme (basically baba ganoush - aubergine puree) was wonderful with Turkish bread and made a great starter. The mixed skewer isn't the cheapest, at £16, but the meat was juicy and the portion was large. I was absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal. Everything was beautifully presented, it seemed up a notch from your average Turkish restaurant in terms of the way the food appeared. And they say, first you taste with your eyes! Would definitely return. Convenient for Metro, and they have a little car park in the back.

Dinner for two people inc a side each + tea for only £15? Yes please, sign me up!…read more This offer sounded great, because how can you dine out for two for only £15 anywhere without the aid of a voucher these days? The catch? There somehow always is a catch, and that was we could only order off the grill section on the menu. So after looking through the "extensive menu", I ordered the Tavuk Sis (marinated cubes of chicken fillet) with rice and we ordered one of each of their baked breads, Pide and Lavash. Each of these grill mains comes with a freshly made salad. My main was disappointing, as my marinated chicken cubes were overcooked and slightly stringy. There was nothing special about the salad, pretty standard one. Only the lavash bread was quite nice, as it was a flat bread with a buttery surface. After dinner, we had some of the tea included in the voucher. I chose the hot Turkish apple tea, which was red when it arrived. Now the name doesn't suggest anything like "apple and berry" tea, and so wasn't clearly stated in the menu. The overall experience wasn't great, and having looked at the rest of the menu, when one of the waiters was getting a confirmation of what the voucher included, nothing grabbed my attention, so it's safe to say, I wouldn't be coming to dine in this restaurant again.
