I had been over six months now. He doesn't answer our calls, messages, emails, in fact he blocked us. We have not received our wedding pictures, videos or even raw footage. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Alaa scammed my friend on his wedding day. After 9 months he still hasn't received any of his wedding photos and after reaching out after all this time Alaa simply told him the file has been corrupted and all photos & videos are lost. Despite all this my friend asked for his $2400 back since he literally got nothing out of the wedding photography services. We had the worst experience with Alaa Bittar (Alaa Photography based out of Edmonton, AB); an experience we wouldn't wish on anyone. Simply put, we were scammed. We hired Alaa as our wedding photographer and videographer after we reviewed his website portfolio - he had zero reviews online at the time. Alaa was very prompt with his responses prior to receiving payments. Once all the payments were made, (i.e after the wedding) everything changed. He was no longer responsive and took an extremely long time to provide the wedding photos and video. The wedding video was submitted in very poor quality (spelt our names wrong, did not use the tracks we provided him and basically pieced random videos from the wedding together which we could have done ourselves). We asked Alaa numerous times to fix our wedding video (at least fix our names) but all we got in return were false promises (we kept being told that the edits were being worked on and that we would be receiving the edited video "soon"). It has been over a year and at this point, we don't believe we will ever see the edits. We gave Alaa many chances to rectify the situation and the only thing we can do now is warn others. Do yourself a favor and hire a different photographer. Do not be fooled by his website portfolio or rates. If I can give zero stars I would. My wife and I decided to hire Alaa Bittar from Alaa Photography (Edmonton, Alberta) for our wedding photography and videography. Right when my wife and I got in the car to leave our wedding venue, he requested payment. My wife stated we will pay half now and half when we get our photos and videos, which was quite a reasonable request. He said we have to pay him now because his employees need to get paid. We complied because he didn't give us a reason not to, and boy do we regret that decision. He asked for slightly more money than what was agreed upon which was fine because we assumed we would get a good final product. The main issue comes with the video that we were promised. First, Alaa showed us a portfolio of his which outlined decent wedding videos/highlights. This was a deception based off the quality of video we got. Alaa said with the price we paid we will get two separate edited videos (I have proof of this correspondence). He sent us only one video and in that one video he spelled our names wrong, the audio music was cut out randomly to the point where you can hear other peoples personal conversations, and video ended abruptly out of nowhere. My wife and I were not able to download the video from the platform he had it on and the next few days it was gone from the platform so we couldn't even access the botched video anymore. We even asked for the raw footage he took so we can get it edited ourselves through another individual but again, he said he would reach out to his editor who is contracted and get that done. I genuinely think he lost all our footage and doesn't want to admit it. We were under the assumption Alaa would be doing the recording and editing of the video, not some random person who is contracted and we don't even know the quality of his work. Alaa was not even at our wedding venue. Regardless, Alaa kept saying he'll fix the issue and edit it and it has been almost a year with false promises. My wife even stated on her wedding day, one of the vendors asked her who the photographer was and my wife stated it was Alaa. The vendor told my wife to be careful and that Alaa has done so many people wrong in terms of lack of professionalism and said he is "shady". At that point, we had already sent him the deposit. My wife gave him the benefit of the doubt because we believed he had good intentions until he proved otherwise. To summarize, based off our experience, I would NEVER recommend Alaa Bittar from Alaa Photography for any services, ever. He's a true scammer with no morals. In fact, if you're Muslim, he'll even play the "you're Muslim and I want to give you a discount and help my people" card. He will then proceed to take your money and disappear without giving you what you paid for. He's absolutely disgusting. I would like to echo a lot of the comment that have already been stated. Alaa is a scam. I wanted to have him for my events after I saw the pictures he has on his page. I hired him last year for my wedding and he asked for full payment before the wedding. I said no and then we agreed on half payment before and half after. After the event was done, he said he stayed extra and charged me $200 more and asked up front at the moment. I said I would give it after he delivered but he told me he has to pay the people that come with him and I have to pay him now so I did. After begging him for weeks, he finally gave me my pictures. I still did not get my videos for the event. After begging him for many months, he finally uploaded it without even telling me. I did not get a chance to download it from the website as I was busy with a lot of stuff and then it was deleted. I reached out to Alaa immediately and he told me he will see if he has a copy. That was Nov 2024. I have been dealing with him since then to get a copy of my video which he charged me $200 more than the agreed upon amount initially. He also told me he got a notification that I downloaded the video which I told him multiple times I did not and he said because of that he deleted the video on his website. When I asked why he did not inform me before deleting he kept saying, I got a notification so that was fine. I told him multiple I did not download and then he lied and said the system automatically deletes it when you download the video. He has changed up his story multiple times. I even asked for the raw footage he took so I could get it edited myself through another individual but again, he said he would reach out to his editor and he should have the video.I genuinely think he lost all our footage and doesn't want to admit it. Regardless, Alaa kept saying he'll fix the issue and edit it and it has been almost a year with false promises. he is the worst. this photographer name is Alaa Bittar located in Edmonton. he took all the money in the wedding day. gave us the photos after tremendous follow up from my side after 3 month. so far I did not get the video we have been married 8 month by now despite all my follow ups. stay away from him. he will turn the most beautiful day in your life to stress experience. in the wedding I was chasing him to take photos, he was disappearing several times having chat on the sides with people or taking individual photos for guests and forget that the bride and groom are waiting for him to take photos.
