This year they did the play differently then the last time we went. They started the play doing three reenactments of events that happened and people they met on their summer 2017 missions trip and then tied that into the crucification of Christ. They also did that portion of the play differently as well. They did it interview style by using eye witness accounts from the disciples, Barabbas, Roman soldier, and others perspectives. It was an interesting take on how various people viewed the crucification. We will definitely plan to attend next year.

Every service was closed by singing the Old Irish Blessing (May the Road Rise to Meet You), which was one of the most touching moments of the service. They also have "the discipline of silence" a moment of absolute quiet during the service to collect, reflect and pray. My husband and I jokingly call this an Episcopal-style Baptist church: they follow the lectionary, wear traditional robes and think. The old pastor, Jim Evans, used to write a column for the Birmingham Post Herald (before it went under and he went to Auburn) and has since been replaced since we moved away from the area.
