Additionally, they had soda, wine, and pizzas. The inside had some of the beer machinery on display. They had some indoor seating, a decent patio, and around (8) beers in tap to try. We got the Full Circle IPA, Devil's Helles Lager, and Casey Brothers Extra Stout. A worker also gave us a free taster of the Spailpin Saison! At a separate time, we had also tried the Golden Spear Blonde Ale. All the beers were good! The flight came with a paper that described the flavors, hops included, and information on the beer. The merchandise section was low on stock so they recommended going to the brewery/distillery for anything you wanted to buy.

These sort of places are my go-to when visiting a new place, as I'm attracted to local art and wish to support those artists. I stopped in a couple of weeks ago during our Ireland vacation and did find a treasure or 2 to take home as a gift. Kenmare Courtyard Gallery was recently nominated in the "Best Commercial Shopfront Category" in the Le Chéile Awards in the Kenmare Tidy Towns Competition. It's kind of confusing from the outside and peering through the window, but I promise there is a whole different world up the stairs. We popped in due to one of their window displays, which featured a great shirt. We were on the hunt for this shirt and upstairs we went. We scooped up the shirt and a few other souvenirs for family, then made our way back out to the streets of Killarney. Overall, cool shop to wander around in whether you are looking for formal ladies goods or local souvenirs.

At first I was skeptical because Christie's looked a bit expensive from the outside, especially when compared to the small storefronts of the other souvenir shops in town. However, when I went upstairs to their selection of tourist goods, I was pleasantly surprised. There was a good selection of everything green and Guinness. The price was what attracted me the most because while the items themselves are oftentimes the same from store to store, the price fluctuates. Christie's had low, if not lowest, prices for the souvenir items I was looking for like pins, shirts, and boxers. Location: (5) Located right on the corner of Main and College Streets, Christie's is right at the intersection of all tourist activity; that makes it easily accessible and easy to spot. After a couple visits to and weeks spent in Ireland, I decided it was one of the better places I came across to buy higher-end, traditional, non-touristy souvenirs and gifts. Many items for sale in the craft shop are made on-site by traditional artisans. Beautiful weaving such as scarves, sweaters, wraps, hats, and gloves in gorgeous colors and soft fabrics. Pottery in the traditional Mucros style with its distinct coloring and markings: platters, creamers, mugs, bowls, candlesticks. Also offered in the Craft Shop are coffee table books, jewelry, children's toys, traditional Irish fare, Irish music...you can find yourself a souvenir to treasure as well as gifts to bring home that are sure to be well-received by loved ones. Prices here are really reasonable, too, all things considered. Naturally, you can visit the Craft Shop without having to pay entry fees to the grounds!

Until tonight, I thought the best fish fry I had was in Hawaii (oops - sorry, Milwaukee). Black Cat has me questioning that now, and I rather think we have a tie. The fish was perfectly cooked to fork tender, white flakes. After the first bite, I realized that the owners should give a master class on fish batter. It was crispy, delicate, and delicious. The rest of the fam had cheeseburgers which were likewise delicious, along with hand scooped milkshakes. The interior isn't fussy. You order at the counter and have a seat at one of the 4 or so tables. A few minutes later your food is brought over hot and fresh, along with a genuine inquiry whether there is anything else you might need. It looked like they were preparing a number of meals for carry out, as well, and had a steady stream of wide-eyed children visiting for a scoop of ice cream. I love this kind of place - the kind where happy memories of family vacations are made.

There were a lot of unique items that I saw at this store, but I found a cute Murphy's Law magnet here that I had not seen any any store (before I visited here) and even after I left this store. I'm so happy I bought my magnet otherwise I know I would have regretted it! Prices here are more on the expensive side, but I think its worth it if its unique and can't be found anywhere else. They have a guinness section with guinness apparel. I would recommend holding off on buying these things because I was able to find these same items marked at a lower price elsewhere. They take the VAT card here so you can avoid all the paperwork when it comes to take care of the Tax Free stuff at the airport.
