There is a real mix of what you can buy in this shop too, i mean it does not specialise in any one product, you can get jams or glass ornaments or pottery or Aran jumpers (and anything else Aran you can think of!) and any number of things that have leprechauns or Celtic designs printed on the side. One interesting thing about this shop is the old petrol pump outside the door, there is no petrol available in it and there has not been for years but it still stands there looking all lonely on the side of the road. It's just nice to imagine that at some stage in its life it was used and imagine what the cars looked like then! Anyway, hopefully its never removed, its an odd bit of history for Glengarriff.

Tell the owner what you like or what type of wine you are looking for and he will offer a selection to please. Not many duplicated wines so a unique selection. Prices are amazing! We told him we wanted something low in tannins but fruit forward and that we like Cabs and he selected 4 wines; 2 from France, 2 from Spain. Prices ranged from 18 euro to 22. We selected the 21 euro blend from Spain and it was right on the button!! If you have had your fill of pints and Jameson, head here for a bottle of fantastic wine. He even partially uncorked it for us in case our hotel didn't have a wine opener!!

There are expected space fillers like bulk-order glass tile mosaic mirrors, scented candles and velvet scarves. But pick through the stock and find the real treasures here: vintage opera handbags, revived dressing tables and sparkling costume jewellery. The two girls were the friendliest, most bubbliest, informative store owners I've ever had the pleasure to come across!! Sisters who obviously have great pride and passion in their place. And I can see why. Such a great choice of knicky knacks. From candles for a few euro to beautiful paintings, I wanted to buy the lot!! The cafe is wonderful (we got a complimentary plate of biscuits cause of the size of our group!!) Loved it and will be back.

Pretty impressive! We only had about 30 minutes to browse Blarney Woollen Mills. In that time, Wifey found a very cool jacket to purchase at an affordable price point. In that time, she also forgot her sunglasses at the shop. We already faraway from the shop when she realized that she misplaced it. She immediately called the shop, but by that time the sunglasses were nowhere to be found. The employee who answered the phone was not very helpful or sympathetic though. Very sad and disappointing customer service!!! Despite the loss of my wife's beloved sunglasses, it was still an okay experience overall. This shop carrys all kinds of clothes, crafts, food, plus so much more. Blarney Woollen Mills is known as having the great Irish Shopping Experience after all. Absolutely check this place out after you kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle of course. Just don't forget any of your possessions while you are here because chances are great that they will be unable to help you.

I remember it having all the souvenirs you could want, including wool - at reasonable prices. We visited again after Blarney Castle but we had limited time since it closes at 6 PM and we got there at around 5:30. I managed to find a cute little sheep stuffy for my daughter, and an ornament for my sister. I remember buying wool the last time I was here. If I had more time to shop, I probably would have done more damage, so maybe it was a good thing the store was at closing time.
