I cant praise this shop enough! After taking my Ram Promaster to another shop, Alamo was recommended by Top Tech. The guys at Alamo inspected my transmission, found the problem, and wanted to try and rebuild for me. I insisted on a new transmission as it seemed the issues were just too much. New transmission installed and my van now runs like a charm! THEN, I spot a new leak in my tire well. Transmission??? I take it back ticked-off but no, its my Rack-n-pinion. This van sat for 5 years and now that Im fixing it up, its just snowballing. Alamo fixed the Rack-n-pinion as well with new parts. Didnt hose me on the price either. If you can get in (theyre pretty busy), youre in luck. read more

They gave me an appointment and on the day of my appointment they told me that. They scheduled another appointment for installation and it took almost 5 hours, and that was even though I had an appointment. The customer service representative JERRY went above and beyond to find the part I needed for my truck. it was the very last part since doing inch lift on my truck. I had been to every other chain auto parts store plus all the off-road ATV shops in El Paso with no success.... He made sure the exact specifications and quality was met with the product. Let me start out by saying this place does damn good work! The selection of auto supplies range from custom stereo systems to truck bedding accessories to lights. For a modest sized store, the selection is quite impressive! Anything they don't currently have in stock at the time they can order for you promptly. I actually first found out about this place years ago when I purchased a tonneau cover back in '09. Imagine my amazement that they still had my info in their system almost 7 years later. In the case of this visit, I was replacing my tonneau cover with a tool box, which you can view the aftermath of in the attached photo. Needless to say, they did an excellent job. FYI: they also offer military discount. They're conveniently located just outside of Fort Bliss; not even 2 miles out. The guy that was helping me even said it's no accident they are located where they are. They also have in-store WiFi, but you still need a username and password...which I find pointless if it's free anyway. Overall though, they are definitely worth the trip. Next time I return, I plan on having fog lights installed to my truck. read more

We waited a hour and a half after they took are truck to get a bed liner put in after waiting for that long we had are sale guy come up and say oh sorry sir we didn't have the truck liner and said it will be a few minute till we get you your truck back up front... wasted are time and they didn't care at all. Everyone was friendly but insisted that I where a mask, I wasn't happy about that but I put it on anyway and followed the rep, rep was fine showed me the display but I just couldn't stand the fact that they insisted I where a mask!!. This review has two parts and two different ratings. My wife bought a new truck and we needed to get a tonneau cover for it. We went to Alamo Auto Supply because several guys at work recommended them. The Upfit Specialist who assisted us with the purchase, Joe Tovar, was excellent. He went over the different models and their pros and cons in a way my wife could understand and did not pressure us in any way. Since the install would take up to two hours, we could not stay that day to have the cover installed, he set us up with an appointment for after the holiday at 1 pm. Five Stars for Joe's service and sale. On the day of the appointment, we arrived about 15 minutes before our appointed time and came in to check in. The clerk at the desk, first could not find our paperwork, then informed us that the truck would be ready by 5pm. That is 4 hours for a maximum 2 hour install when we had a 1 pm appointment. When questioned, she informed me that we were "in the queue". I again stated that we had an appointment for the installation and she called someone and again informed me that the truck would be finished by 5pm. Since I was getting irritated, I started to go outside, remembered I had not given them the keys and turned around and tossed them onto the table where they landed next to the plexiglass barrier in front of the clerk and I left the building and walked the parking lot. One of the managers? came to my wife and let her know that "your husband is an ass" and that I could not come back in the building. We discussed just getting our money back and going someplace else but when my wife went to get the keys and process the return, the truck had already been brought into the bay to install the cover. We decided to let them finish since we had already paid for the cover and installation. When they finished the installation about an hour and a half later, I went to inspect the install while my wife went to get the keys. I found the installer had left the drain tubes draining into the truck bed instead of routing them though the holes in the bed sidewalls as designed. Mr Tovar came out with my wife to ensure we understood how to operate the tonneau cover and I let him know that the drain tubes were routed incorrectly. He offered to have the truck taken back to the bay and the tubes routed correctly but having had enough of Alamo Auto Supply, I declined. As we were pulling out, one of the installation techs stopped us and attempted to explain that he did not want to cut holes in the truck bed. I told him to stop talking and back away. To his credit, he did. 1 Star for service and installation only because there is not a 0 star rating. I will only shop at Alamo Auto Supply if I cannot get what I need anywhere else including online and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. And if I do, it will be cash and carry only. read more

No follow up on requested information / part for my Truck Camper Shell I bought at AMERICAN Campers.

Showed up for scheduled tint appointment and it was cancelled. They still took my vehicle. Quoted me an hour, then when I ask for status they said it takes 2 hours and by the way add another 2 hrs because they messed up. I asked for my vehicle and to disregard the tint. They gave me my vehicle with 2 windows tinted. This place has horrible time management and they are over priced for the quality of service. This was just my experience others my have better luck. read more

OK good points are that they are a well run and organized place. Very customer focused. On the downside my experience with having them install my tonneau cover was weird in that they told me that since my truck had the factory track system I needed to buy an additional $50 track relocation accessory for this cover. What I don't understand is why none of the literature that comes with the cover alludes to needing this extra part/accessory? Going to the manufacturers website doesn't solve this mystery either. Seems like somewhere a diligent buyer would be able to arm themselves with this info and avoid having to pay a last minute fee to successfully install this component. Also why does the manufacturer use a separate part number that separates out whether the buyer has the factory track system or not if you need to buy another item to successfully install this item. So overall the install was great but I don't like surprises and this was a surprise. When they took me out to show me the techs working on my truck (it was all torn apart) and why I needed this extra part its not like I can say oh no please don't install my cover now...you know what I mean? Anyway that is what I experienced. Love the place overall but having a hard time understanding why I needed this extra part. Feeling like I got took for a $50 ride...show me where the fine print says you need this extra install kit in the BAK install guide and I will update this review and remove any negative comments. It was a BAK MX4 part number 48409T. I'm guessing the T in the part number is for a track system...Just saying. read more

Stay Away! I purchased two items since they said they were in stock. When I went to pick them up at the counter they couldn't find them, so they put it on order and tell me it'll be a month until I get them. So now they have a free loan for a month. Then yesterday I get a call saying the order is in. I make a special trip to pick the order up and only half the order is in and it's going to be another two weeks for the other part to come in. Had an appointment for window tint and they claimed I wasn't on their schedule. They rescheduled me for the following day and told me they didn't have me on the schedule AGAIN. CLEARLY THEY WERE MAKING MISTAKES SO the manager "took care of me" and apologized for the mistake. Had my tint installed (2 hour wait) when I should of had priority? Then bought step runners and they were installed incorrectly (after 4 hour wait). The step runners were loose and installed with big noticeable bolts. Ended up making a 3rd trip back to the shop (after I complained ) and had the runners installed properly manager apologized and said it was definitely a mistake on their behalf. ONLY positive- I got the installation charge refunded. Very disappointed because they do have everything you might need for your vehicle. read more

Kinda got irritated with this place. Yesterday I called and asked for a price on doing a spray in liner and the salesman told me that it would be $550. Today I called to make an appointment and verify the cost and it was $50 more. The guy on the phone sounded like he was surprised that I knew. Long story short: For customers, technicians should show integrity and not try to screw over the customer to make more money. I have been going to alamo for about 10 years now, but not anymore. I used to really like this place but lately it's just not what it used to be. I started going here when I bought a brand new mustang in 2012. The salesman, Jerry, was so nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. I first had an alarm put in, then went back for tint, and then again for an aftermarket intake. Dealing with Jerry every time, of course. I then got a 2013 F150 xlt and went back for the same things as my mustang but also adding a bed cover. I will say their tint work is beautiful, I don't see myself ever going somewhere else for tint as long as I only deal with Jerry. I've gone in a few times in the past couple months and if I don't encounter Jerry during my shopping, the customer service just isn't there. The last time I went in to look at a bed tent for my truck a salesman literally said, "Women look at that and wonder where to plug in the hair dryer." Why he decided to tell me, a woman, something as stupid as that is beyond me. I didn't buy anything that day and haven't been back since. read more

I've purchased several things from Alamo in the past of years. I bought automatic steps for my Jeep, bed cover for my truck, a leveling kit for my truck and recently a bed liner. The were a great recommendation for the Jeep but after a few weeks I noticed the bolts coming loose I added lock tight which I thought the "professionals" would do. When I was looking to purchase a new bed cover since the old one was falling apart I was told that not only would I be charged to install the new cover but I would be charged $80 to remove the old cover. I removed it myself in the parking lot it took me 10 minutes to remove. The leveling kit is another story where it was installed but when they put back the front shock on the driver side it was not aligned correctly which in turn damaged the shock and I had to replace. Unfortunately I will need to look elsewhere for future vehicle upgrades. I expect more as a returning customer who has spent a couple thousand dollars in this place. it's lack of consistency and attention to detail has me disappointed. read more

This place is great, I've gotten a lot of my Jeeps aftermarket stuff here. They have a pretty good selection and offer installation on everything they sell. The only downside is that it is a little pricey but at least they have stuff in stock. read more
