She just couldn't be bothered to listen and wound up charging me $1,600 for what should be $800.

He has a great bedside manner and his staff was warm and friendly. I got my root canal. I have to say it was about as painless as could be. I also chose to have a sedative due to my anxiety and that helped a lot. Overall I am pleasantly surprised. I had minimal pain and I loved to tell the tale :) My only wish is that Dr Allen did regular dental stuff too because if he did, I'd make the journey from the coast to be a regular dental patient. I went to my dentist and he was very impressed with the root canal. One of the best he's every seen. If you need one, don't panic. On one occasion when I needed urgent dental care due to an intermittent painful situation, he was unable to locate a problem and suggested that an old filling be replaced, but he was unable to fit me into his schedule. He referred me to an endodontist, who could not identify any root canal problems. A message left on Dr. Campbell's cell phone was returned by his receptionist twice. She explained that Dr. Campbell was unable to identify a problem and could not offer any advice on how to proceed. In fact, he would not talk to me and 2 days later, sent me a letter directing me not to return to his office. In summary, I have found the price for his services to be much higher than comparable dentists and on two occasions he recommended treatment that was different and more expensive than that recommended by other specialists. His mannerism is abrupt and abrasive. When asked, he appears to rush through explanations in a clipped manner. Finally, when my only urgent need arose in five years, he did not have the time to attempt a procedure that might have addressed the problem. Is this the dentist you want working in your mouth?

He advised it would be very dangerous to fly with an abscessed tooth due to the pressure and altitude changes during the flight, so he performed the root canal the next day. I have also seen his hygienist Lucy since the beginning, and her cleanings are very thorough and consistent. His office also offers a 10% discount for uninsured patients who pay in full by cash or check on the day of their visit. Highly recommend.

Staff lost the imaging, so they informed us that my daughter would have to come back for another round of imaging. She had to miss a day of college classes in Klamath Falls to make the trip, only to find out when she arrived in Roseburg that the machine was broken. It really would have been helpful if staff had contacted my daughter before she made a 6- hour round trip for nothing. Very inconsiderate!!

I did opt for IV sedation (no one wants me awake for a procedure like that!) and the whole appointment took 30-ish minutes. I did have an intake appointment several weeks prior to the procedure where everything was explained to me and the doctor and his staff were very approachable. Would I recommend OOS? Absolutely.
