Albee's has always been our go to restaurant when we are craving for authentic Malaysian food. Unfortunately our last visit left us wondering what happened to Albee's. We were so disappointed to say the least not only with the two of our favorite "signature" dishes, Char yuan yang and bak kut teh, but also rather put off by the service, We arrived at about 5ish before dinner rush. The restaurant wasn't busy but we were not allowed to choose our table. We waited for more than 20 min before our char yuan Yang finally arrived. This is very unusual compared to their previous standard considering that we were the only table who were not served any food yet. The worst is that the crispy noodles weren't properly fried and had lots of chewy bits that hurt my teeth. The fact that we waited even longer for bak kut teh to come while chewing the robbery noodle made the whole dinner experience rather unpleasant. By the time it arrived and after we tasted the soup, we said to each other they must have changed the owner and the chef. The famous bak kut teh has lost its fragrance the unique taste I was craving. After a few sips, we were anxious to leave as the crowd started coming in and decided not to order additional dishes to take home which we would have done normally. We asked for a box to pack the bak kut teh and was given an earful to go get it from the back ourselves . It's sad to say this but the new management completely lost our trust and I'm not sure if we will return. I'm writing this hoping they realize their standard has dropped significantly and they have lost loyal customers like us. Unless something is changed soon, or they'll continue to lose customers. read more
