AlBella's is the most organized thrift store I've been to in a long time. There is SO much stuff crammed into this store. Books, CDs, vintage and newer used toys, antiques, DVDs, clothing and much more. There is even a rack of greeting cards. The store is clean and so is all the merchandise I looked at. No musty basement smell here. The quality and variety of items here is pretty much better than I thought it would be. I saw some wedding dresses and a boxed Atari that were on perfect condition. There were other electronics and some furniture too. The shopkeep was friendly and offered to let me have a closer look at some of the more expensive items behind the counter. I saw him offer some customers free items from a bin just for making a purchase. The store is very easy to access and shares a large private lot with American Science and Surplus and Lost World of Wonders.

Interesting place to go. Perhaps I am wrong but more collectibles than thrift. Cheap CDS and DVDs.

It's right on 9th near The National - FYI, 9th is a one way street so you may have to go up 10th for a block and loop back around. The name on the door is "BC Modern Furniture" and they're open Fri-Sun from 10-4. In addition, they run estate sales and host one day flea markets so check their website for upcoming events and sales. If you visit the store, know that it's mostly mid-century furniture with some same era collectables thrown in. It's not a huge place but it's very, very well curated. This is some of the nicest looking vintage furniture I've seen in town - lots of sideboards, dressers, end tables and some truly glorious sofas. Prices are commensurate with the quality - a big 2 piece sectional sofa with immaculate original upholstery was in the $600 range. That said, they're willing to negotiate so if you see something you love, have the conversation. The Mister grabbed a fun Maifest stein and a vintage German decor mag from 1964 for $10, so we left happy. They are adding things all the time so if you're trying to up the hipster cachet on your sweet Bay View bungalow definitely check them out.

He drove down from Milwaukee to Racine just to sit with us, talk and give us a lot of helpful info. We didn't really have any items that he deals in but he still sat with us and was very helpful. We offered to compensate him for his drive with gas prices so high and he absolutely refused. I would recommend contacting him if you are interested in the services he offers!
