The entrance is kind of hidden but the terrace faces the main plaza of the Duomo. The decorations and vibe are modern and chic. The green velvet couches and glassware are elegant and compliment the colors and dishware perfectly. We visited on a Wednesday night and there was no line and were able to get a seat with no reservations or wait. Our server was nice and spoke English, German and Italian so it was very easy to communicate and order. There is an impressive selection of regional and imported wines, as well as cocktails and house crafted sprits which we ordered. The star of the show was the Meta spritz with hibiscus syrup and prosecco. We chose a selection of appetizers and mains to share and we were impressed by the quality and presentation of every single item. Remarkable item 100% recommended: The caramelized goat cheese with cherries and pistachio, The caprese salad 2.0 which features burrata and basil sorbet, the chocolate molten lava cake and the fresh tuna pasta. It's got the best indoor swimming pool - just long enough for laps - and spa with several different types of saunas and steam room and comfortable lounge chairs to relax. Food is amazing - we had the half board plan which included breakfast and dinner - the salad bar is the best and most abundant I'd ever seen anywhere, good amount of seafood and meats and huge variety of veggies, basically if you fill up on the salad bar there is no need for dinner but dinner is delicious as well although in comparison the portions thankfully a bit smaller so in the end you won't feel totally stuffed. In comparison to dinner breakfast not as notable but still pretty good. Would have loved to stay here for longer!

We felt like we were friends! The hotel is located right next to the funicular that takes you down into the heart of Bolzano. The view is spectacular, and it was incredibly cooler in the hot summer. We went down to explore the town part of one day, but after that didn't go back down until it was time to leave. Everything at Gloriette Guesthouse is incredible. The rooms are beautifully decorated with so much personality. We had a hanging chair on our patio, which was amazing and the view was not to be beat. The breakfast is wonderful...so many good things to eat and drink, including a juicing machine with all sorts of healthy things to throw in. It was so fun! The dinners were SO good! The menu changes each night, so even if you stay a week you will have different choices each night. I wish we had done the half-board, because we ended up eating at the hotel every night. With delicious food and perfect personal service, why go anywhere else? This truly was one of the best places I have ever stayed, and I definitely want to return! The food was great where you before the dinner is served a buffe with some snacks and after that there is served a 3 course dinner where u make your selections from the menu the day before. The food is a mixture of Italian, german and french food and has a lot of flavor Pros: - Location - 2 minutes away from the lift up to the skiarea. - Service - The food, both dinner and breakfast. All great. Will fill you plenty for a day out skiing and refill you when you get back Cons: - old interior - some of the bathrooms at the hotel need a bit of renovation. This is definitely a place i would recommend for anyone going skiing in the Dolomites.

We never paid There are two guided hikes every day with Luca or Giovanni. Most involved a bus ride,then a funicular or gondola up to trails. They stop for lunch which sometimes we skipped and left the hike early. Because I wanted to take advantage of their water aerobics and yoga and spa sessions The swimming pool is WARM They provide breakfast which is a good assortment, a snack at 3:30 which had shredded pork or curry chicken or wieners. Plus cakes and fruit and salads It's very quiet town compared to other nearby places There's a lot of pizza places We ate at Vilu one night about a two minute walk, we had fried shrimp appetizer, truffle deer ragú ravioli and a pork shank. The breakfast is good and it seems that the cafe is a favorite of the locals at night. If you expect fancy, don't even bother. However, if you appreciate the more simple things in life, this may be the place for you. Also, the woman who runs the hotel has a brother who's winery is next door and Georg Mumelter makes some of the greatest wines in the Alto Adige.
