Laura Roach is unprepared and her callous disregard for the seriousness of the matter she is being entrusted to handle is mind boggling. Not only did she sidle up to my soon to be former husband and ask "so what's the matter with her, she's cute!" She double charged me for time she was with another client. He told me she had them waiting for an hour and what she did when she showed up. During that time she was supposed to be in meeting w my former husband and his lawyer, I called her assistant to find out how it's going and was told me she was with another client and had not got in to my meeting. Yet, I was charged for that time. Then her custody order was so poorly written & riddled with typos that it caused years of legal battles to unravel the chaos. Hired to due a trust. No response for months. Still trying to get retainer refunded.

I've been a client of Albin Roach for several years...my divorce is a little more involved than the average one. Laura is great! She sees the big picture and is very well connected. She helped me through some very rough moments. I've recently started working with Kelly Schuler and she is fantastic! She takes her time with me, explains details- I might not understand, and looks at details with a fine tooth comb. I trust her judgement 100%. I have recommended both lawyers to close friends. RUN - - do not walk - - to a different attorney. A no star rating is more accurate. Laura was disrespectful, unprepared and left me hanging for weeks about a visitation schedule she prepared but made no sense. The breaking point was when she would not return my calls/emails for over a week when my ex refused to return our child to me - after his visitation had ended!! And he'd take our child out of state!! But no response for over a week from my "attorney". That is clearly Unacceptable behavior for an "attorney". Said 1 thing to my face and then did the opposite or nothing at all - burning thru 2 large retainers during a 2year custody dispute. She was unprepared at each court hearing.. Also, burned thru retainers for long client meetings she said was necessary (and emails) then she ignored the hours of discussion and documentation. She will tell you want you want to hear at the initial consult - but don't expect her do any of it once the retainer(s) are paid. I had to beg her for months and months, for her to finally subpoena my ex-hubands pay-records to accurately establish child support. And yes she charged me multiple hours to read the emails in which I begged her to do her job and get my ex's pay-records . . . again unacceptable. She refused to! Says 1 thing to clients and then does the very least possible when the meetings are over. Her ambiguous custody orders and visitation schedules caused over a year of hearings and put my young child (and myself) through hell - until I finally fired her - to put an end to the manipulation and resulting chaos. read more

I used Laura Roach for mediation and later for arbitration. She was very one sided and did not really listen to both sides. She put in her own ideas and ideals with regards to separation of property, duties, religion, etc. Then she wrote in a self-serving paragraph about that we need to use her for arbitration if there is a disagreement. The document that was written was done so poorly that it cost thousands of dollars to interpret it both judicially, and through lawsuits. I would never recommend her to use. read more
