Great food and great service! If you're looking to avoid the main square in Tulln, I would highly recommend it - a hidden gem!

The hotel at the Heumarkt is not easy to find at the first visit. But it is worth the way. At the…read moreglance the building looks different. But you will forget this first impression after entering the building. :-) The rooms are well suites. The whole hotel only has suites. They are more expensive in comparison to hotel rooms. But as suites they are a bargain. Each suite has a living room with a TV, a sofa, armchairs, a little sink with a microwave oven, real good instant coffee, tea and a basic set of dishes. The sleeping room has much space and is furnished modern. You also have a TV in it. OK. Whoever needs this. the bath is also OK. The personell is very friendly and ready to help. I liked this. The hotel is also known for it's Aikido dojo.
A good little once-palatial hotel located on the out skirts of Vienna…read more For the price it offers breakfast, and free parking on premises, which was our main concern. The location is a beautiful park-neighborhood of what once were the gardens of the property, up on a hill top, and if you get the room with a view you see the town at your feet. The breakfast is great. It has both hot and cold choices, and taking it on the veranda is a great start of your day- eggs, hams, breads, cheeses, pastries, fruits, yoghurts, there's a bit of everything here and only €5 if you'd like to have them bring it to your room. The public transportation works and there's a bus station right outside the hotel. I'm about 45 minutes you're downtown. Via Uber it's about €25 (depends on time and traffic) and about 25 minutes to town center so public for €5 and a full day pass is a good option. The carpets and furniture do show the aging of this ex-palatial residence. We personally didn't care for the extra steps to the bed- the room is built as a comfortable loft- but our knees hurt from all the walking in this fantastic city! Lovely stay. Enjoy!

The breakfast was out of this world - so many options and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The people who checked us in and out were superb, they put our stay over the top. The galleried courtyard is especially spectacular and a great place for a drink in warmer weather (I have previously uploaded pics to Yelp). But now it is December and I decided to eat indoors in the cozy dining room. This dining room dominated by a classic old Austrian tile stove was all decorated for Christmas which only added to the atmosphere. And my food was very good. Their Schweinebraten (roasted pork medallions) are well-known and should be as they were tender, juicy, and flavorful. The Erdäpfelknödel were filling and the warm bacon and cabbage salad was superb. A glass of the wonderful local Kremser wine completed the meal. Though there are many places to eat in Krems, Zur alten Post is certainly one of the most atmospheric and reliable.

Great neighborhood/family type hotel. Quiet, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, EXCELLENT FOOD…read more From breakfast to dinner, they really shine in the kitchen. The best eggs I've ever had, and I live on a farm with my own chickens. So trust me, that's a good egg. They also serve real, authentic schnitzel, the kind worth going to Austria for. Nice selection of local wines and beers. My only wish for this great hotel would be for nicer linens - the bathtowels are on the scratchy side. But with a supply of skin lotion I will be back. Please note for tourists: this hotel is not particularly near any of the downtown 1st district amenities, but there is a nearby train you can take right down to the opera house and everything else in Vienna.
