Firstly, I'll say I am not usually big on confrontation but when I feel like I'm being played with, it never sits well with me, ESPECIALLY within a professional environment because I am not dumb and you as the "professional", should have learned soft skills. Learn to communicate better with potential students so you don't get reviews like this before the program even starts. Secondly, the phlebotomy department is horrible and it seems like no one has good listening skills. This enrollment process has been absolutely awful. I have been trying to get ahold of them since before September, as a matter of fact, according to my emails, I went as far back as 2023. I have gone in person multiple times, emailed, and called and every single time I got different information from everyone I talked to. Elianny was supposed to be my advisor and has been the absolute worst at communicating and very irresponsible. She claimed my emails went to her "junk" folder which is insane that she even admitted to not checking her junk folder for months, as a "professional". I even check my junk folder! I was interested in beginning months ago but lack of communication on their part pushed me back to what I thought would have been March but is now May 12. Now, after emailing my paperwork I have to continue calling them every day to see if they got anything, and that's IF they answer. I have emailed my paperwork to 2 individuals and the career department yet not one has been received and I was told today, after weeks, that the system is transitioning. Why couldn't they have told me that initially?! I would've been taken my papers in person rather than keep playing tag with this irresponsible advisor. I went again in person and spoke with Elaine and she said ALL that was needed was my transcripts followed by the same questions "did you already apply for fafsa and the scholarship?" Are they not able to see that????? Fast forward, I call the BOE for the city I went to school at and they faxed the transcripts, well RACC never received it, because of course, they have no fax for that department so apparently it just went anywhere, I called the BOE again and had them email me this time. I emailed careertraining@racc.edu letting them know the BOE said they could provide a copy of the UNOFFICIAL transcripts OR a letter proving graduation to which "Veyyes" responded, and I quote "I apologize for your frustration in regards to the registration process. If you are referring to your high school or GED transcript, an unofficial transcript will be acceptable." Upon receiving my transcripts, I forwarded the email to them and got another email response saying, and I quote again, "Hello Nahomi, Correction, we do in fact need your official high school diploma/ GED transcript." And of course I can't say who sent it because they deleted their signature from the email. At this point I am rightfully angry and frustrated. I finally spoke with Regina, who seemed to care at first but as soon as I defended myself she became sort of irritated and condescending. I tried explaining to her for the 182nd time that I already did everything in my part and needed to know what else I had to do, she kept talking over me and rudely cutting me off as if what I had to say didn't matter She kept telling me to relax and not stress when they're the ones stressing me out! All in all, the call with Regina ended up in me having a panic attack by 10:50am. It really takes away my motivation and makes me want to continue my education elsewhere. I haven't even started and I already regret my decision. Update: unfortunately I went thru with my enrollment and even now they continue to play games except now it's with my tuition balance and scholarship. Literally every other girl in my class received the full $2,000 scholarship--except me. No clear explanation was given, and when I asked, I was just told they gave me as much as they could. Feels unfair and frustrating. I will be reporting to the bureau of education.

I was ready to be treated like an outcast like I have no business going back to school at my age!?!? I say I have been here for over a year and my life has drastically changed for the better, I cannot describe the positivity and the wonderful students and faculty I have come in contact with. I've been blessed with the most wonderful, understanding, and knowledgeable professors and that is one hundred percent the truth! I also hold a work-study position in the financial aid lab, OK I get it doesn't pay that well but with the fellow students I have the pleasure of working with it all seems to fit just right! Everyone in life will not have the same experience and not the same outcome, I am a prime example of this! I never took high school seriously and the grades I got back then couldn't get me a job selling oranges on a freeway, but this school helped me achieve my best and this is the 3rd semester in a row I have made the president's list! If I can give one piece of advice to a student and to the others who have given RACC a bad review, take a step back and think about YOUR part in YOUR journey. You're in control of who you are and sometimes in life, we make choices we wish we wish we could change. Blaming other people gets you nowhere but on a website downing other people to make yourself feel better. I am not saying everyone is perfect and I am far from that! But, I want everyone to know what a GREAT COLLEGE this is, and no matter what the issue with your life and what you are struggling with, this school will help or point you in the direction to get the help with what you are struggling with!! I would not change my direction in life because I know I am right where I should be at this very moment!!! The small campus but has really grown to serve more kids than ever. They have many choices for major to suite what you might be looking for. Their physical therapy and occupational therapy programs are outstanding. Alvernia had grown but kept their core Francesian catholic values. it's a beautiful campus with nestled away in a suburban setting. I would highly recommend this university.

The freshman dorms are amazing and have a ton of space. While I would highly recommend having a car if you are a resident, a friend tends to have a car for when you want to go out. The staff are pretty cool and the professeurs are regular professeurs with other cool lives. The food is not horrible, but some days are better than others. For anyone looking for a health science major, I would recommend this school over many others simply due to the liscenship and programs that are known in the community of each prospective job such as nursing.

After I got out I immediately went to campus police, waited 2 hours to talk with a cop and get a police report done. Cop told me they would look for the car in the parking lot to see if they can find any cars with similar damage to pursue it. I checked in again today to see if they might have seen any cars that could have been involved and the lady at the desk told me, and I quote. "I don't know what you expect us to do since we don't have cameras" Not only is that something super unprofessional to say, why doesn't a campus have cameras in the parking lot? Each student pays a large amount of money to come here, more than enough to buy cameras. Not having cameras in the parking lot opens up the opportunity for a lot of crime. Rape, theft, drug deals, mugging, hit and runs, etc. all very possible in the Penn State Berks commuter parking lots.

Arrival and check in right beside a very loud band so you cannot hear the person checking you in and they cannot hear you. From 9:30-10:45 you have an option of taking a housing tour. The housing tour is about 30 or so people with one guide who takes you to one dorm room and tells you "all the wood things come with the room". No explaining which dorms are freshman or if there are any suites or how long students are guaranteed housing or any other information. We then wait for the president to speak for the next 45 min as there are no other events or tours scheduled yet. Everyone is piled into a foyer waiting. Eventually the doors are opened (30 min later than told) and we are guided into a room with tables representing various student activities When we talked to the person at the Greek life table they knew nothing about Greek like because the Greek life person didn't show...so they were filling in. Breakfast items were also offered during this time (it's 11am) but it's still a nice gesture. There are no chairs for anyone to sit and a few standing tables yet not nearly enough for the volume of students. The president gives a vague speech which is more like "hi" and lacks substance that tells students anything about the school. Then there is a prize give away for a few students. While waiting for a housing tour I asked if there were campus tours. A student working for admissions (we did not see any admissions counselors only students) said well if you come back I can get someone to give you one. There were no campus tours!? What? We went back as he had told us to do and he was not there. Walking around the campus yourself is not the same as getting information about the campus or hearing the student perspective. Honestly the whole event was run in this rote impersonal fashion. Next stop was the tables set up for departments. No faculty present at the major we wanted to talk to. The student present told us they never had to take a single math course and they are a current senior...??? That doesn't seem to be true. What weren't faculty present to talk to incoming students and welcome them or answer questions? Last stop as we guided ourselves through campus was a carnival. They brought in a very cute camel and a goal as well as a guy with a big bubble wand. Comments I heard were "if this is how they run their event then what would it be like to go to school here!?" "I can't go here", "this is chaos" "they put time into getting a camel but what about telling us about the education they offer or living here". It was chaos. And in truth we left feeling like it's a nice looking school that must have things to offer but we will never know because of how poorly they represented themselves.

I was forced to pick a random suite with people I don't even know let alone trust around my medication. As an animated arts major who loves to do fine arts in their free time, I could use a little more space AND QUIET to focus on my work since animations take a hell of o long time to finish especially if you want them to be good. Emailed housing, they gave me a bs answer and got nowhere. Now I have to search the campus for wherever the housing office is just to speak to them in person since email goes nowhere. ------ For some extra complaints: Don't trust the rice unless you like it as chewy as sour patch kids. The chicken has so much fat pieces and all that left on it when cut that it's practically all your eating. Sausage with a nice helping of ground up bones left in. The second floor of the south dining hall doesn't even have clean lettuce of any kind, I tried some with my taco and it tasted rubbery and dirty (but apparently downstairs they actually wash the lettuce). According to some people I've talked to, old main is full of black mold and asbestos and lytle hall has high radiation. At least from my experience, the dorms aren't safe from black mold finding a nice home all over your shower. They seem to lie a bit on the tours and I honestly don't like this school as much as I used to. Maybe I should've gone to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) or RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) since those schools are actually respectable.
