It has now concentrated on making the venue otherwise a party/concert zone out the back. Not what I expect from some place called a "Wine Bar". Food offerings are not as epicurean as before, and the glassware is now more industrial-strength than wine-enhancing. New management brings its own take on the idea of how the establishment should operate, and I wish them the best - without me.

I ordered a " grazing plate " at $30 for 3 people to nibble on while quaffing a bottle of Tinja Pinot @ $22. It was served quickly with no waiting time. The plate was expensive considering the small serves of sliced apple , mixed salad leaf, chutney, pastrami , baby olives, goats cheese, olive oil for dipping and a small loaf of bread.But is was tasty and complimented the wine . ( Some slices of Jalsberg or vintage cheese would have made the plate more appealing and given a bit more value). Our bottle of Tinja Pinot was very drinkable. The out door dinning setting of this winery is outstanding with an expansive view looking out across the valley. Rustic tables were made of big slabs of gum tree timber . The staff were pleasant and attentive. The wine tasting bar was packed and doing great trade . Was it just the glorious winters day with blue sky and chill in the air combined with laughter and lots of talking which made this a memorable occasion where I didnt have a care in the world ? I recommend you visit this winery and find out for yourself .

The friendly staff greeted and seated us, after explaining they were almost fully booked out. Excited by the prospects on the menu, we awaited our order. We were not disappointed. Our five half serves between the two of us was only slightly too much food, but we diligently tucked in, fueled by deliciousness. Everything, including our drinks, was delightful, but the piece de resistance was easily the soft shelled crab tacos. Never have I eaten such an attractive and tasty morsel, from the lightly battered and fried meat of the title, through the mung beans and spiced mayonnaise underneath, to the perfectly prepared and crispy base.

I can see that it would get really busy and with a few different areas and buildings in which to eat I can see why other Yelpers have said to specify which part of the venue you want when making a booking. As it wasn't too busy I just hung out in the garden and only one part of the venue had been reserved on the night. I only tried the chorizo plate and a glass of wine as I'd already eaten down the road at Percy's. The chorizo was dressed in a mustard aioli with honey and coriander had just the right mix of sweet and spicy - definitely recommend it. The staff were happy and really helpful as well.

The venue has an array of seating areas including the cosy bar area with the open fire and magnificent bar; the outdoor garden and the extension garden that is quite open (see photo) and which has open fire pits surrounded by bench seating in the colder weather. We shared a variety of small plates and each of them was noteworthy. If it's on the menu, I find it hard to bypass a scallop, so the seared scallops on the cauliflower puree were music to my eyes and magic on my tongue! We also had the delightfully spicy buffalo wings, the sliders of the day (Cajun chook) and the prawns. They were all delicious. Sis and I had a lychee martini each, which was a perfect offset to the spice in the Cajun and the buffalo wings. B-I-L ordered a wine from the fairly extensive menu by the glass. Showcasing the local wines, naturally, this spot seems to tick a lot of boxes. I was quite surprised by the other reviews as I found the service quite sufficient on the night and the food was certainly value for $ and perfectly presented. Judging by the quantity of prestige 4WD's spinning around town, Orange is a spot for the posh weekend jaunts. Bookings are probably recommended. But please note my additional tip.

All in all the pizzas were great, I enjoyed our couple of pizzas and definitely wish I had ordered more! But! Both pizzas were very 'wet' in the middle with practically no crust. Soggy didn't quite explain it. Just so wet I figured it has gotta be the style and to that I did not enjoy at all. U can't even fold a u shape triangle to feed yourself cause it's just so saggy from the moisture. That said, flavour was there and I did wish I ordered an extra one. The menu was interesting for me, overall I felt like half the menu were very similar with just 1 or 2 ingredients different. We ordered the Kelso and the Brewongle and if it wasn't for the olives and mushroom you might think they are practically the same. I guess that was the point? Anyway, I'm not complaining. I enjoyed my lunch and I recommend this place! Come with some friends and you'd have a great afternoon! Even the LLB was above average
