I had bruschetta and a tuna pizza. My pizza was simply amazing! The atmosphere is nice and although the service is slow, they are very nice.

Great place to find. Atmosphere is solid, indoor and outdoor seating. Carpaccio and bruschetta well excellent. I had the combination seafood pasta, which was also excellent-just was too full to finish the last few bites. Excellent service as well. Definitely will be back read more

This place serves up a solid Margarita pizza. Crust is crispy but still doughy with some chew. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. This place makes an all around solid pizza that can stand up with the best in my opinion. Friend ordered the buffala cheese pizza. Both were great. First time in but would recommend again. read more

AVOID! The manager has NO CONCEPT of GOOD SERVICE! The waiter obviously forget to place our order, and despite being there when it opened and being seated sixth, we waited one hour and twenty minutes until we saw our entrees--after repeated requests. We were met with excuses (and claims we placed our orders after people who came an hour after us!), and not a single offer of bread or antipastos or ANYTHING that a good restaurant would have done in that situation. In the end, they offered us free desert! We declined--we just wanted to be out of there! I have eaten in hundreds of restaurants (including many restaurants in Rome) and have NEVER been greeted by a manager who refused to be accountable or care that his customers had a good experience. 100 Euros and I have only an upset stomach. I have no idea if the food is any good! I am so sorry to have supported this restaurant and hope you don't! read more

Let me start off by saying that when in Germany visiting Mainz is a must. A beautiful, smaller city situated along the Rhine. Mainz is loaded with great restaurants tucked away along cobblestone side streets and beautiful open spaces and German 'piazzas'. Architecturally it's food for the eyes. Al Cortile is one of several great restaurants. It has two levels with fireplaces. The space is modern and cosy and the menu is primarily Italian cuisine and German/Italian fusion food. Reservations are needed because its packed 7 days a week! I've been here many times and will continue to go! read more

Very very good! I'm an American from Texas and the people were quite friendly and accommodating. We had their baked ziti, calzone, and ravioli with some kind of green pesto-like sauce. It was all very good. I have to say the ravioli was one of the best dishes I've ever had. The decor was simple and relaxing. It was a little pricey but I think overall, worth it. read more

The food here was great! We had a business dinner with a mix of German and English speakers and they handled our party with ease. The quality of the food was outstanding-- I had the carpaccio appetizer and truffle ravioli and they were fabulous. The portions were definitely too much for me, but they were so good I wasn't complaining! read more

For me this is the best Italian restaurant in Mainz. Pizza, Pasta, Salads and especially the Panna Cotta are absolutely gorgeous!

Good selection of pasta and pizza dishes, which are prepared well and very tasty. Nice interior, professional and friendly staff. All in, a highly recommendable place (for vegetarians too). Only small drawback is they are so busy, they sometimes cram in the tables, so that not much privacy is to be had. But if you are just there with friends for a high quality meal, it's great. read more

Good setting and good food, but if some of the arrogant Italian garcons think they are superior to their guests by virtue of their pizza or whatever, they are mistaken. A good restaurant is made by the whole experience. read more

We had the Pizza Margherita and then a second one was the Pizza Buon Viaggio, which was made with gorgonzola. Both were piping hot with melting cheese and deliciousness. This was the perfect stop for lunch after learning about moveable type and checking out the Dom.

Wir sind spontan eines Abends dort mit 4 Leuten aufgetaucht und hatten demnach nicht reserviert. Die Kellner waren nicht übermäßig freundlich, aber auch nicht unfreundlich und direkt bemüht uns einen Tisch zu organisieren. Wir haben letztlich unten in diesem "Gewölbekeller" gesessen. Vom Ambiente und der Aufmachung her, fand ich diesen sehr schön. Das einzig Negative war die Lautstärke. Als wir kamen, war jeder Tisch besetzt und man fühlte sich ein bißchen wie in einer Bahnhofshalle. Nachdem einige Leute gegangen waren, sank die Lautstärke und man konnte das angenehme Ambiente richtig genießen. Was den Service und das Essen betrifft, waren wir alle positiv überrascht. Unsere Vorspeisen sowie die Pizzen und Pastagerichte, die wir hatten, waren alle ausgezeichnet! Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis bei diesen Speisen ist auch absolut in Ordnung. Unter'm Strich kann ich dieses Restaurant also auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen! read more

Allgemein Wir verbrachten einen tollen Abend im "Al Cortile". Die Bedienung war aufmerksam, das Essen schmackhaft und das Ambiente stimmig. Das war mit Sicherheit nicht unser letzter Besuch. Bedienung Die Bedienung begrüßte uns sehr freundlich und war den ganzen Abend über jederzeit ansprechbar. Das Essen Das Essen wurde frisch zubereitet und war ein Gaumenschmaus. Das Ambiente Eine Mischung aus rustikalen und modernen Elementen, uns hat es gefallen. Sauberkeit Soweit wir das beurteilen können, war alles sehr sauber und ansehlich. read more

Immer voll, daher sollte man reservieren. Die Bedienungen machen oft nicht den freundlichsten Eindruck, aber das Essen ist sehr gut und die Preise angemessen. Eine wirklich grosse Pizza Salami kostet zB 7,50EUR und Tortellini Bolognese 8,50EUR. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen! read more
