There was only one veggie stand I couldn't stand to even look at because their prices were outlandish. In my confusion and dismay, I got on the phone with my hubby to share my findings, or lack there of. All of the sudden a couple nearby who overheard me, told me to go two blocks down the road at 300 N US1 Hwy as one of the regular farmers market produce stands was not there today but their store is nearby. Let me tell you, it paid to be social today this lovely Chicago couple saved me! Not only did I find awesome produce, I found loads of organic and since we've been here (August), we have been so disheartened by Florida produce. Until today!!!! Please come visit this lovely and kind family, they've only been here 8 months and can use your support. Everything we purchased has been the highest quality I have found. Watermelon from grocery store cost 6$ or more. Here 5$ will get you a watermelon twice as big and twice as sweet as the store. I highly recommend stopping by and give them a try. They also have local organic honey, fresh eggs.

The market is in a very nice location and was easy to get to. Parking was also not a problem during our visit. There was street parking available along with parking at the library and another parking lot next door, so we were able to park and walk over without any difficulty. The waterfront setting makes it a pleasant area to walk around, but the market itself was much smaller than I expected. During our visit, there were only about 15 vendor tents set up, and most of them seemed to be selling clothing, jewelry, crafts, and similar items. Since this is called a farmers market, I expected to find vendors selling fresh produce, plants, locally grown foods, baked goods, or other farm-related products. Unfortunately, I didn't see any of those during our visit. It is certainly possible that the number and types of vendors change from week to week, and perhaps we just happened to visit on a particularly slow day. The vendors who were there had some interesting things to look at, and the location itself was very pleasant, but it simply wasn't what I expected from a farmers market. Overall, if you are already in downtown Fort Pierce, it may be worth walking through to see what is there that day, but I don't think I would make a special trip based on our experience. Enjoy!

I would have to say that the Glory Orri Mandarins were the best thing that I have tasted from Al's. Although the Ruby Red grapefruit have been extremely delicious. Nothing is better than fresh fruit, especially during the cold winters of Michigan. They waited till it was the weather was appropriate for shipping my orders. They all arrived "unfrozen"! Hallelujah! Thank you for bringing sunshine to our Michigan winter! Will definitely order again. FedEx is pretty harsh on our deliveries, a couple were smushed and they replaced them. Thank you! I am excited about the citrus, but when reading other reviews, I learned that they are open on Saturdays and they serve hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches. Oy Vey! The farm offered golf cart rentals for $20, and if you bought 30 pounds or more the $20 was applied to your purchase. There was over 50 rows of trees, most of the longans we saw were small, but we found trees with good size longans and quickly filled out buckets with 50 pounds. Overall it was a great experience! I would highly recommend this farm.
