You don't need a quarter to use their basket right now. There's someone outside sanitizing the carts as they are being returned after use. I love coming here for cheap plants and flowers, cheap wine and mimosas and their cheese! Love their 3 wick candles too- They're comparable to Bath and Body works and it's only $3.99!

    I love this cheese!

Great place to head for some great choices. My husband is from Europe and they have many choices that he loves including European chocolate!

I came across Linda's Tropical Fruits many times on my Tiktok before my trip to Houston, so I knew…read moreI had to add it! It's located in Chinatown, which was cool to explore as well. I actually think I enjoy Houston's Chinatown better than the ones in California like SF or LA. Linda's Tropical Fruits is not only a little store where you can get produce and groceries/snacks, but also in the back, they have the drinks and acai bowls! I ended up getting the Super Fruit Slushy, which came with red and white dragon fruit, soursop, Thai banana, and sugar cane juice. It was so delicious and really refreshing! If I got the chance to come back, I would definitely want to try another one of their smoothies and try their acai bowls since those looked so amazing and aesthetic! Definitely a hidden gem :)

Not to mention cutting it up and taking the pits out. Too much work. I rather pay for the ready to eat stuff! My go to drink is the seasonal longan pandan drink. Sadly it's not offered year round. However their other drinks are just as tasty. Some can agree the prices are a bit higher than your average Asian market prices for fruits and goods, but these are special imported/seasonal items. Come and grab yourself a sweet treat or a refreshing drink!

They even sell bulk items such as nuts, flour, nutritional yeast, dried fruit, natural detergent, oils, loose-leaf teas, etc. Some are made in-house, including vegan hot chocolate mix. I like getting my seasonings and spices here, opposed to the grocery store, because it is very fresh and hasn't been sitting out for years upon years on end. There aren't a lot of raw vegan restaurants down south of 45, but surprise, surprise, Natural Living has raw vegan onsite. I've only eaten there twice, and due to the limited hours throughout the week. I am only able to get down here on the weekends in the morning. I frequent Nokturne more as a vegan restaurant in CL, just due to the simple fact of the flexibility of hours. At Natural Living, I ordered the taco salad; it was vegan meat crumbles and veggies. There were more veggies than meat. A limited amount of dressing to lather the veggies, so it made the salad a bit dry, but tasty. I loved the peanut butter cookies on sale. They were my favorite. I love that they have a food fair program for organic fruits/vegetables from local gardeners. I'm not a big fan of organic anything as I feel that it is more of a marketing gimmick, but if others care about that, that's a perk. The program is very affordable. I've personally never tried it, but I always wanted to. The ambiance can be a bit off; the staff is sometimes nice, sometimes don't want to be bothered. The apothecary side of things system is just grab jars of what you want, and they weigh it, put it in baggies, and you pay for it. However, things can get complicated when there a multiple people on the apothecary side and there is nowhere to wait since the whole building is tight and small. Now the pricing; this establishment isn't the cheapest, but when you factor in the value of what you are purchasing with the quantity of goods, then you are getting a solid deal. They sell crystal jewelry, and parking is across the street. I always tell people I'm going to the apothecary, and when they Google it, they can't find it, so it is definitely a hidden gem. I would have given them 5 stars across the board, but with the very limited hours not good for the working class working between 8 am - 5 pm; they close at 6 pm, closed on Sundays and Mondays. I hate that, but I will continue to only come on Saturdays.

The membership gives you access to their weekly food shares of fruits and vegetables you may not otherwise have access to, and they offer herbal shares as well. Lisa, the owner, is sweet and welcoming. She's been helpful in getting me acclimated to how everything works. The more I go, the more I learn. She's an herbalist and offers consultations as well. And even though it can be busy during the food shares pickup hours, she always makes time to engage. The whole staff has been warm and welcoming and it's to no surprise. The atmosphere is serene. There's a sense of peace that comes over me when I walk in. Me and my husband enjoy sitting down for a bite to eat from the organic cafe. The food is amazing. It's all handcrafted, with high-quality organic ingredients. It's gluten free and made from scratch. If you can't stay and eat you can call in your order to-go. Also, with the membership you get discounts on bulk items and certain events. You can lend a hand and volunteer as well. It feels like you're walking into a family home that its main goal is to assist you in your health and healing journey. It's a complete mind, body, and heart experience. I'm happy to be part of the family.
