I have not been, however they do apparently have a brunch buffet on Sunday mornings. Very cute. Lots of trinkets and Knick knacks to look at. They have a great selection of grocery items as well. There is a section with Vermont beers that is separate from the other beer section. They also sell wine. The deli had two specials for Halloween, one chicken sandwich and one beef one. I chose the chicken sandwich. It had a lot of vegetables and tasted good. The people doing the deli seemed very happy. That's very different from most delis where it is just a job. That made the experience pleasant. Once we got our sandwiches, we went outside to the picnic tables next door at the ice cream place. I think that place is owned by the same people. The tables were very clean and the view of the village was beautiful. We enjoyed our lunch here and now we know why it sees a lot of business.

This Shaw's is tiny and dirty. The clientele were especially rough and menacing, and once again (like we get at every Shaw's!) stared at us like they had never seen a trans person in their lives. The thing that really struck us about all the cashiers is how miserable they all looked. After we checked out we walked past a gauntlet of three empty registers with cashiers lazily staring at us, knowing we didn't belong there. Silly us, we were happy to find a grocery store with a name we recognized- Mom and Pop places don't have corporate policies on discrimination and often aren't smart enough not to tell people to go to hell when they complain. That said, I never, ever have had a good experience at Shaw's. This was the smallest, the dirtiest, and the creepiest one I've been to yet, and I think this is largely determined by its location- Woodsville, New Hampshire.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the installation of the battery is free if you purchase one of the batteries they sell. So I had them do the swap while I was shopping. So convenient. And the guys were great to do business with. I was initially going to get the battery and put it in myself when I got home, but this saved me so much time and frozen fingers. Thanks Walmart!

The stench in the air upon entering the room should have been enough of a warning. But, I was there, so I gave it a shot. Placing the order was a bit challenging as English is not the first language of the current owners. When you make your way to the "dining room", a good number of house flys will greet you. The dining area is in shambles and not at all a place generate an appetite. There was a Christmas tree lit up in the corner. There were six flavors of coffee advertised,, they offered only two. When the food was delivered, that told the rest of the story, greasy and stale. The jelly for the toast was so old that it was separated in its container. Most of what was ordered was left in the trash can. My opinion only, if you are going to eat here, you may be taking your health into your own hands. Too bad Rae's cafe across the street is not open on weekends. Their breakfasts are outstanding!
