I'll be honest, it is the tenderhearted nature of the teachers and aids that really have impressed me. The teachers and teachers aids in the 2 and 3 year old program (Ms, Buschra, Ms. Mehwish and aids like Ms.Comfort have been nothing short of amazing. I am honored to have had my son in their classroom.) Seriously, they are the most patient, gentle and genuinely loving teachers and teachers aids who have always treated their students with the utmost respect, patience and kindness. They are effective teachers and have even helped us with potty training. The administration is just as incredible. They know each parent that comes into the day care personally. They address them and say hi when they enter and leave. They know your child's name. They are some of the friendliest people in the DC/MD/Va area. I have friends who have their kids here under other teachers, and they tell me they don't mind driving from College Park to Burtonsvile, just to send their kids to this school. They too, could not be happier or feel more secure about keeping their children in Childway. This is the perfect place for your child. The teachers are amazing and caring and well-trained. Ms. Madona Williams and Ms. Elizabeth Mikanga along with Ms. Kayla Williams are soo very special to me because they have taken the time to talk to me when I have questions about how to supplement my daughter's development and education. Thanks to Ms. Chandra, our daughter adapted within 2 weeks of starting daycare. She also did not speak English before starting daycare but now she has no trouble communicating in English with Ms. Chandra and her friends. She has learned all the alphabets, can count in English and Spanish and knows so many rhymes. She can even spell her name, which is pretty amazing for her age. She brings artwork from the daycare almost every day and we have noticed her drawing and coloring skills have improved significantly. Now she is learning to write the alphabets and numbers. We are amazed by Ms. Chandra's passion, energy and ability to care for 8 kids all by herself. Ms. Chandra also provides 3 vegetarian meals each day, which our daughter likes to eat. My 5‑year‑old's teacher waited nearly two weeks to introduce herself, then immediately criticized his behavior in front of him and other children, with no explanation of how they addressed it. Billing was a mess: constant errors, incorrect charges, overpayments, and no accountability. The director threatened to unenroll all three of my kids when I paused payment due to an incorrect amount, which she later confirmed was their mistake. They also fired my middle child's teacher without notifying parents. I only found out because a stranger was holding my son's hand at pickup. No announcement was ever sent. Overall, the lack of professionalism and communication made this an unsafe and unreliable environment.
