The seafood special is really good value with a great selection of bites for $65 for two. On average a mains is priced $20-25. They also do a roast buffet special. The bar has comfortable seating and you can choose to dine here if you like. I do kind of wish they had the ability to open the windows or have an outdoor are as they are perfectly located for an arvo beer in the sun. There is an outdoor DOSA but it overlooks the carpark and main road and is so small it's not somewhere you'd want to hang out. If outside is what you want then down stairs beachside is a great little kiosk which does decent coffee and is open nice and early with snacks for breakfast and lunch. Who doesn't want to sit on the beach to have their morning coffee? All in all a great location with all the benefits you expect of a club and a surf kiosk but they are doing it really well!

This place used to be City Rowers. The new owners successfully transformed a daggy nightclub with…read morecheap ladies nights into a posh little restaurant bar featuring it's finest Buddha Bliss cocktail mixes with the likes of very knowledgeable bartenders... cute ones too! The downstairs is a little dark, i've only been there at night, but it has a 180 degree super spectacular view of the Brisbane river... with lights and all, very romantic if you're sitting on the outer part of the restaurant. Lots of functions here so make sure you book on busy nights or you may have to hang by the bar the entire time (not such a bad thing). My only complaint here is that although the food is pretty non-spectacular... entrees range from $13 to $18 and mains go from $20 to $30 sound a bit fancy... but don't pack that much of flavour... at least ours didn't... maybe it was because we were a big table? We tried the crispy skinned salmon and the chicken katsu curry with some sushi rolls as starters, the food was good... but nothing really jumped out as oh my god this is yum type deal. It is also incredibly noisy inside... we had to scream at each other over dinner just to hear what we were saying... leaving dinner having a very scratchy voice like you've just been clubbing all night is not the way I like to end a night. Besides from it being a little loud inside and dark, the place was pumping and very popular with dressed up folk. Maybe i'll try it out again during the day.

It is said that the design, layout and decorations of the venue follow the guide lines of Feng Shui which give the Jade Buddha a special feel that's hard to describe. Even I felt almost relaxed sitting there which for me is great as I am someone that does not normally believe that furniture positioning can change the feel of a place. I think this can also be attributed to the water fall and bamboo finishing which makes you feel like you might just be on holiday for even just a minuet. The Jade Buddha is separated into two different levels, the Jade Lounge and the Shadow Lounge. The Jade Lounge is the bar and restaurant with some great cocktails and even a signature range called Buddha Bliss. The menu is a East meets West fusion so the food ranges from seafood to noodles to sushi. This is also transferred to the tempting desert menu with things like New York style cheesecake or for chocolate lovers the must try chocolate Buddha. If you go upstairs later on in the night you will walk into the Shadow Lounge that stays open till late. This is a sophisticated and classy cocktail bar to say the least. The cocktails are extensive and very tasty but are quite pricey at around 14$ upwards. The Shadow lounge is quite popular with the young inn crowd of Brisbane and is the perfect way to end the Jade Buddha experience.

The room could seat up to 450 and we had about 300 attendees which was a perfect fit. There was plenty of space for everyone. Outside of the main room, the foyer was used as our House of Friendships were several booths promoting various Rotary programs were being shared. The Elevations Bar was spacious and where we had drinks, nibbles, and morning tea. This area connected to an outdoor deck. You could smoke on the deck so I didn't go out there but once. The morning tea was decent. They provided coffee and tea and one day had sweet muffins (chocolate or blueberry) while the next day had savory muffins (spinach and pumpkin or bacon and egg). For lunch, we had brown bags packed with an option of a chicken caesar or ham and cheese sandwich with a piece of fruit, cheese and crackers, juice, and a piece of candy. It was filling and the sandwich was quite tasty. I had the chicken caesar and it had chicken, egg, lettuce, bits of bacon, and mayo. We also had a dinner and dance once evening as our big event. We had a three course meal and it was pretty tasty. I had the salmon for an entree, lamb shank for my main, and lemon tart for my dessert. The food was pretty tasty. The mashed potatoes needed more salt but I was OK with that. The lamb shank was so tender and delicious! The lemon tart was super tart but I like tart desserts and came with a small piece of white chocolate on top. The bread rolls were also provided. The facilities were up to date and very professional. Even those sitting in the back had projected screens close to them and the audio and visual technology was great. You can walk to the beach from this RSL as well as some accommodations and shopping centers. A great weekend was had and I really enjoyed my visit here! It would be great to host an event here!
