Smile...Say Cheeeeese!…read more Kelly at Silver Blossom is a phenomenal photographer. She's been our family photographer for the past 4 years based on a recommendation from my sister in law and their adorable baby and toddler pics of their kids. Now we're hooked. You will be impressed by the quality of the pics, the lighting, the landscape, the way she directs you and your family to make everyone feel comfy and to eventually get great pics. We get annual pics cause phone pics just don't cut it. I included a couple of our pics from last weekend in N St Paul and literally got them back 4 days later! Crazy quick turnaround. Love em! They're gorg!

I've had 2 sessions with Kelly at her studio in North St Paul. She did my maternity pictures and…read morethe newborn pictures for my twin boys. I was so happy with the results of both sessions! I get so many compliments whenever I show off any of my pictures. Before we had our first session, The Man was super skeptical; he was all like "can't your sister just use her nice camera and take some pictures?" I said no, and he agreed to purchase a 10 picture package. During the session, Kelly did such a good job making us feel comfortable and relaxed, that he actually even smiled for a few of the pics (he usually takes terrible pictures, like he's in pain or something.) She even let us bring our dog (our first baby) and incorporated him into a few shots. After the session, The Man was feeling better about the quality of the images we were going to receive, and he agreed to increase the package we bought to the 20 image one. (Kelly put no pressure on us or anything like that- I just really wanted to get all the images we could!) For our newborn session, Kelly, again, was so good with her subjects. The session lasted about 3 hours, and she was so gentle and patient with our boys that they would just curl up and fall asleep when she held them. She had so many props and backgrounds that I could have never chosen, but she knew just what to do with each outfit I brought, and added in a few of her own props too. Her pricing is terrific, considering you also get the copyrights to the images, which is so great for making birth announcements or Shutterfly books, or sharing on Facebook. Speaking of Facebook, you should "like" her page. She puts up a few images from a lot of the sessions she does, and it's so fun to see the babies, kiddos, families, high school seniors, and I'm pretty sure I've seen some wedding pictures too. Oh- she has a beautiful studio, but also does outdoor sessions, some of which are absolutely stunning! So basically, I can't say enough good things about The Silver Blossom, and you should for sure get your next pictures done here!

From the get go, Kayla was super responsive through email and social media, which was great given the timeframe. We were working on a small budget with an elopement-style wedding and just a few guests. Kayla and Zach were accommodating and worked out a package that fit into our budget without compromising too much of the coverage we wanted. Kayla kept in regular contact throughout the process and I was never lost or confused. I was planning everything myself and they didn't make me feel small for not having an extravagant event that fit into a particular aesthetic, which was a problem I ran into with similarly skilled videographers. Overall, their customer experience is amazing and they are so supportive from start to finish. On the day-of, Kayla and Zach were punctual and communicative. I had the pleasure of having Kayla filming my bridal prep, and my husband had Zach for groom prep. Both of them were incredibly nice and comfortable to be around. When it was time to start capturing moments, my husband appreciated how professional Zach was and noted that he knew exactly how to capture the important moments, especially between my husband and his mother. Kayla was incredible to work with and felt like part of our girl group over at the bridal prep. She managed to fade into the background at moments and give us space to enjoy our time together, but popped in at perfect moments to guide shots we may not have thought of. We found out after getting photos back that both Kayla and Zach had staged various photos of our rings and other details which were so lovely and wouldn't have crossed our minds to ask for. At the actual wedding site, Kayla and Zach worked together to capture everything. They really went the extra mile to make sure our day was represented as lovely and romantic as it felt for us as a couple. They even stayed a little longer than planned to get some final photos of our guests which we really appreciated. All in all, I cannot recommend Kayla and Zach enough. They made us feel so special and honored our day. Our budget and the wedding size wasn't treated negatively. They are also very socially aware and that was reflected in their work. Kayla made sure to get the important moments of my mom doing my hair, which is a very significant ritual as a Black woman, and she had so many ideas for creating my princess-like experience while working around a broken ankle, crutches and bandages and all. I was very impressed that the quality of editing also avoided washing out all the brown skin tones. Everything truly was a dream. I have no notes. Hire them!

We're so excited to be the first to review DnK Photography!! It doesn't get any more complicated…read morethan this... Dan and Karin are AMAZING. Their work is AMAZING, their style is AMAZING, the experience you will have with them will be AMAZING. Where do I start...? We have had DnK shoot photos for us about 5 times now and the results have been superb every time! When we first met DnK we were looking for a wedding photographer. We met with about half a dozen photographers in the Twin Cities and DnK were the only ones who seemed to be really enthusiastic about our big day. That was a big plus, of course, but even better than that they went out their way to understand our ideas for the big day even though it was just our initial meeting and we hadn't made any commitments to them yet. My wife and I got a of confidence, very quickly, that they would do a fantastic job for us. The wedding photos turned out perfectly, better than we could have hoped. We had a lot of ideas ourselves but Dan and Karin both came up with really fun and cool ideas on the fly, all of which came out wonderfully. Dan is great at the action shots and coming up with unique ideas in real time as he sees folks interacting and moving around. Karin's portraits and group shots are second to none and her detail shots are sensational. Together they make such a great team and compliment each other really well. We also had the videography option too and that also blew us away. On the big day Dan and Karin were on time (important! :o) and they did a great job or organizing everyone. They kept us on track but at the same time made everyone feel at ease and just helped us enjoy ourselves! (Personally, I don't really like having my photo taken, so the idea of wedding and family photos was enough to make me cut straight to the booze at the reception but DnK managed to take all my nerves away and I really did enjoy myself. It was like magic! Ha!) Immediately after the wedding, on the Monday, we did a "Trash the Dress" shoot at the MN State Fair. Let me tell you - it was a BLAST! Despite it being hot, with hundreds of being constantly surrounding us... it was SO MUCH FUN!! DnK's photos of this shoot were every bit as good as the wedding itself! In fact, in summer several of our photos were used by the Fair as a promo for the event!! How cool!? Since the wedding we have been back again and again. My wife is a musical theatre actress, she has had them shoot her promotional shots for her website and they also shot the photos for a production at The MN History Theatre which have been used two years in a row by the theatre. I could go on and on... but I'll close by saying this: Give DnK a chance, they won't let you down. They will give you incredible value and you will LOVE the results!! Next stop... Pregnancy photos please Dan and Karin! Then baby photos! Then... well, you get the picture... :o)

I hadn't seen their advertisements, or website or rankings on wedding sites, so I was a half heartily looking at their pictures, but I fell in love with their photos. That was in 2010, they've been nominated for all sorts of stuff now because they deserve it! As luck would have it, they were available the day we needed! So we met to interview them and I walked out of there and told my fiance at the time - there is no need to interview anyone else. I want them. They were so prepared when we met, but prepared like photographers are, somewhat disorganized, but they knew were everything was but totally on top of it. They were quit the duo to watch. They had their business side down, pricing was prepared, photos were in hand, they knew each others strengths so they let the other focus on their side of the business. We started asking all the "suppose to ask questions" wedding sites suggest you ask, but quickly just started talking. We connected, it was great. What really sold me was I asked "Come on, you have some crazy bridezilla moments, right?" The response was amazing after giggling at the question, "we haven't had any because those are not the types of brides we attract." - they said it much more professional though. The turn around time on the photos was as expected, email response was as expected (note brides - you are not the business's only customer, don't expect an answer for every little question within 24 hrs no matter the business you are talking to), but the quality of our photos by far surpassed expectations. The photo booth was a gem, the candid photos they caught captured the people's personality to a T. Most of all the photos of my husband and I captured our relationship and the mood of the day just perfectly.
